  1. Your "mate" can still bet at Betfair but why would he? Sports maybe but not racing.
  2. You can't compare Betfair to any mainstream betting agency. I'm surprised your "mate" found any liquidity in the Betfair market to play with
  3. That's a weight issue isn't it? A kilo equals 6 lengths according to @Thomass so 55 x 6 = 330 lengths. Who needs a whip when there is no weight.
  4. You don't behave like the others @Thomass
  5. I'll take 1% once I register as a bloodstock breeder.
  6. Nothing stopping you telling us all about Pukekohe.
  7. Yeah yeah sure - $9,000 by Embellish?
  8. We look forward to seeing your list of bargains and then following their progress.
  9. I see all lots offered are eligible for the Karaka Millions. Does that include passed in lots?
  10. I looked at the catalogue and thought it was quite weak and not much depth. Makes sense to flick weanlings on if you have a paddock full of better ones. The real costs start from now on and pinhookers might be able to make a profit.
  11. Why didn't the Stewards check the cameras BEFORE the first race? FFS they don't even check the track rating is correct!!
  12. But that's up to the owners of the product NOT the betting agencies.
  13. Don't they have to do that under the racefields agreement?
  14. But ENTAIN like any betting agency is focussed on yield (profit) not necessarily turnover. Theoretically you could increase turnover and reduce yield.
  15. NZTBA and Kick Collective Launch Breeding Hub NZTBA, in collaboration with Kick Collective, has launched a new initiative that’s set to reshape how the public understands the care and commitment behind thoroughbred breeding in New Zealand. NZTR | June 23, 2025 Hello Youmzain at Cambridge Stud The New Zealand Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association (NZTBA), in collaboration with Kick Collective, has launched a new initiative that’s set to reshape how the public understands the care and commitment behind thoroughbred breeding in New Zealand. The Breeding Hub is a purpose-built digital resource designed to explain the breeding process in clear, accessible language. From conception to foaling and early development, the Hub offers a transparent look at the practices, people, and principles that underpin the industry. For those within the industry, the level of care provided to thoroughbreds is second nature. But for the wider public, many of whom are increasingly interested in animal welfare, these practices are often misunderstood or simply unknown. NZTBA CEO Nick Johnson sees the initiative as a commitment to improving education and trust in the thoroughbred breeding sector. “The Breeding Hub bridges that gap by offering a factual, easy-to-understand guide that demystifies the breeding process and highlights the high standards of welfare that define it,” Johnson said. “This isn’t about PR or spin. It’s about showing people what actually happens and trusting that the truth speaks for itself.” The initiative is also a proactive step in a world where industries are being asked to show, not just tell, how they care for animals. With growing public scrutiny across all animal-based sectors, the Breeding Hub positions New Zealand’s thoroughbred community as a leader in transparency and welfare education. The content, developed by Kick Collective and supported by contributions from breeders, veterinarians, and stud farms, includes videos, infographics, and plain-English explanations. It’s designed to be shared with curious friends, potential investors, or anyone interested in how the industry works behind the scenes. Importantly, the project was made possible through a co-investment model, with NZTBA matching contributions from a group of leading stud farms. Their support reflects a shared commitment to lifting the curtain and building public confidence in the industry’s practices. This initiative also aligns with broader goals across the racing and breeding sectors: to strengthen social licence, attract new participants, and ensure long-term sustainability. “By putting facts front and centre, the Breeding Hub helps lay the groundwork for a more informed and supportive public conversation,” Johnson added. “In a time when perception matters more than ever, this is a welcome and timely step forward.” Https://bitofayarn.com You can explore the Breeding Hub online at nzthoroughbred.co.nz/the-breeding-hub NZTBA Breeding Hub

  17. Will the ENTAIN Oz account holders from NZ be notified to transfer their balances?
  18. This is the advice from the BGP: Just an FYI: The Racing Industry Amendment Bill is currently progressing through parliament. At this stage it is very likely to pass either this week or next. When the bill passes It will come into force immediately. What does this mean: The bill will give the TAB a full monopoly of online wagering in New Zealand. The bill is designed to prohibit overseas companies from offering wagering services in NZ. What is relevant to some of us: If you are operating a non-TAB account, that provider will be forced to no longer offer that service. The bill will come into force the day after Royal Assent, meaning it comes into force immediately. In short you wont be able to access overseas online wagering services. What should you do: If you have any funds currently in an overseas account it will be sensible to withdraw these before the bill passes. After the bill becomes law you may inadvertently be locked out from accessing your own account and the funds inside it.
  19. That's racing. Take @billy connolly 's approach invest in gold bullion but then take a small proportion of the profits and buy a share in a horse.
  20. I understand this is your total gold bullion stash.
  21. Seems @JJ Flash , @Transparency and other doomsayers have it wrong...again! ENTAIN share price increases over 22% year to date even in the light of AUSTRAC case. Major investment advisors recommend buy and have upped their previous share price target. Deutsche Bank has upped their already bullish target by another 17%.
  22. Guys do you realise how warped AI is? BTW the unvaccinated haven't all died and have a lower death rate than the vaccinated. Climate change happens all the time and putting carbon in the air doesn't make it worse. Whatever worse is given that Greenland might become green land again ChatGPT only averages opinion and research regardless of its accuracy.
  23. That's the known risk. 2.5% ($25,000) of a $1,000,000 colt yearling could make you a millionaire! So if you spread your risk and choose wisely... To think I was offered a share in one of the best stallions for a few thousand and turned it down. Stands now at over $90,000 a shot!
