  1. Well their fixed costs wouldn't change. Variable costs well if they took a feed from Australia they wouldn't need to pay for someone in the studio. Any technical support should be able to be done remotely. Surely OZ wouldn't charge?

  9. This subsidy is a nonsense. I've been looking up company's I know that have more capital than a bull can shit and can operate solely online and many of them have taken the dosh for themselves and their families. Once the breaks come off there will be a shite load of dosh sloshing around. Watch out inflation!
  10. The point I was making is I'm sure that those in charge are still thinking they have a right to the clubs capital.
  11. The Mesara report blurs the line doesn't it?
  12. Bet your bottom dollar they'll start screaming soon we need to close more tracks. That'll go done like a bucket of cold vomit!
  13. Stakes - That's what pays to keep the game going. I also think you are over playing the redundancy angle. Why is it other businesses can lay off and not RITA? In NZ there is no statutory obligation to provide redundancy. It must be written into employment contracts. Normally the notice period is 4 weeks. Given we won't see any significant uplift in betting for at least 8 weeks. How many have been let go? We used to get regular updates on the numbers and as stakeholders we are entitled to. They've been stopped. We are now over due for the half yearly report which would give us numbers.
  14. So we are stuck with 600 RITA employees?
  15. Are you serious? You can actually deposit a winning ticket voucher into your account?
  16. Do you seriously think there will be any big social events this side of Christmas? I envisage a controlled return to racing along the lines of what is happening currently in OZ. If you look at the subsidies so far I'm amazed at the number of people these clubs have supposedly working more than 20 hours a week. Take the CRC for example. 32 people working 20 plus hours a week is 640 hours of effort per week. Seems a lot to me. These clubs need to get back to their reason for being FIRST. Otherwise they join the great unwashed hospitality business.
  17. BTW I have no problem with stables applying for the subsidy as they have horses to look after and even if they are all in the paddock we need them up and galloping BEFORE bar staff. Although I'd kill for a jug of beer and a bit of a yarn with my mates.
  18. None of these clubs or industry organisations seem to have laid anyone off. Why is it different for them in hospitality (seems where most of them are employed) than anyone else in the same business?
  19. 9 April 2020 The TAB has announced today that the radio simulcast broadcast of Trackside TV on the AM and FM frequencies will be suspended from midnight 00:00 Sunday 12 April until further notice. The simulcast will continue on Trackside Radio on the TAB website, TAB app and via the Rova app. The decision to suspend the broadcast reflects the reality of no New Zealand racing being available due to the impact of COVID-19 and is aligned with efforts to reduce non-critical costs throughout the business. A lifting of suspension of this service on the radio frequencies will be reviewed once the resumption of New Zealand racing is confirmed. The TAB recognises the suspension of the simulcast broadcast of Trackside TV will impact some customers and apologise for any inconvenience caused.
  20. Hi The PM Issue was caused by a data corruption. I've fixed it but in doing so some messages ended up in the wrong message box. Only affects about 3 or 4 messages. I'll try and fix it but have a list of things to do. So JJ and HTP settle. There won't be any problems with new PM's going forward.
  21. That's nearly $7,000 per employee. Air NZ laying off thousands. How many has RITA laid off?
  22. 32 employees!? $6,500 per employee. Are you on the payroll Freda?
  23. Who are the studs? (I didn't apply ?)
