  1. In the races so far identified where was the "hot favourite" not trying?
  2. If betting trends back that up then that is there for all punters to see. What's the advantage? So driver A gives driver B the lead. Which gives A the trail. I thought that was a good posi to be in? Now B gets taken on by C and has to reluctantly hand up. Obviously C wasn't in on the deal. Nor were the other 12 drivers in the field. These prosecutions are a mine field. I'm waiting for one of the accused to do a plea bargin.
  3. A very specialised form of fraud. One of the other things that doesn't make sense is the amount of money in our pools wouldn't warrant fixing anything.
  4. You miss the point. Since when has the Police had a thorough understanding of harness racing?

  6. The wider this goes the less credible it seems. The RIU can't read a race what chance have the plods?

  12. Well Racefields legislation won't help the NZ punter. The issue in my opinion is the NZRB have not responded well to competition instead are trying to enforce or reinforce a legislated monopoly. What they have done is price their product out of the market and they attempt to ameliorate this position by offering discounts to large customers. Many industries offer discounts to large customers the difference is the market generally makes sure the base retail price is competitive.
  13. Do you support the Racefields legislation?
  14. I'm surprised BOAY'ers are not commenting on this report. Contrary to the media releases it aint a pretty result by any means.
  15. I think we need to put some perspective on this issue. My understanding granted gained through the grape vine was that initially the BGP was ignored by the TAB when approached. Now we all must admit that BGP have been a breath of fresh air for racing in many respects. Some would say their marketing of NZ Racing is far more effective than either NZRB or NZTR. So when they were initially ignored they approached (or may have been approached by) some Australian betting agencies. They got offered an incentive to bet with one of them. They are able to do so without breaking any rules or NZ laws because that side of the operation is managed in Australia. One of the many reasons Racefields legislation will be a minefield. If the NZRB are now playing ball with BGP then I think that is a positive. Maybe the CEO is no longer listener to his Wagering General Manager!

  21. But isn't any illegal raceday treatment potentially "race-fixing"?
  22. Read it here.NZRB 2018 Annual Report (FINAL).pdf
  23. Well maybe but I thought such charges were normally dealt to by the RIU and the JCA. Has the RIU abdicated this role now to the Police?
  24. This seems a bit strange. What was in the injection? Have there been any positives declared?
  25. Can you give us some examples of the Superior back to Inferior for today please? Providing a forum for your views costs a bit to run.
