You don't think having different rules for the elite vs the not so elite is a blight on the integrity of racing? From an Animal Welfare perspective it doesn't matter if the race is a Maiden hack at Hokitika or the Derby. Perhaps the Stipes should get off their butts and talk to the jockeys before EVERY race!

Tank - do you just argue for the sake of arguing? If Animal Welfare is the issue then it doesn't matter if the Dairy was burgled for a packet of cigs WITH a gun or Harvey Norman was burgled for an iPhone 10 WITH a gun!!! Penalties shouldn't be LOADED for so called superior races over inferior races. They should be the same in terms of suspension. The horse doesn't know the difference!!!

That's rubbish Tank. If you burgle the corner dairy the penalty is the same as burgling Harvey Norman. I very much doubt that any more people saw the Grand National than those watching the Maiden at Pukekohe. What's more the apparent victim in either race is still a horse.

I don't agree - if the issue is animal welfare then it doesn't matter if 1,000 or 10,000 see it. They apply this "discretion" with other infringements as well. For example interference in a major vs a minor race. There shouldn't be any difference in the "holiday" given however there is possibly an argument regarding the fine but that could be made relative by applying it as a % rather than an arbitrary amount.

Ashoka you are misinterpreting what I have been saying. BOAY has no personal identifying details to pass on. BOAY met all its obligations under the Harmful Digital Communications Act. My understanding is that you still have options for recourse if you wish to take them. BOAY will continue to respect any individuals privacy and their right to anonymity.
