  1. HTP, maybe on home bend the last time when it lost its place a touch but it was held up down the straight. Tried to weave but nowhere to go. Be interesting to see the outcome. Today it will only be 'adjourned' as they always are.
  2. The racing overall has been as rough as guts so far. So many horses going up in the air.
  3. He didn't have any regardless. Some on here (and RC) have said short price favourites are driven differently to long odds horses. I am not sure of that but if you drive on a real short priced favourite it has to be put in the race. Has to be!
  4. Correction, Summer Cup.
  5. Number 87 in the excuse book for poor drives. I agree, H, to be fair, what can one do? Well, except they set the precedent in the summer cup with Tim Williams.
  6. Harewood, can't wait for the stipes report. Boy oh boy. A certain Auckland Cup drive comes to mind. Here we go....
  7. I have contempt.
  8. I would have thought the bet would have come from inside the stable (surely)
  9. Hot favourite and a $4500 bet on it and stays on the rails. WTF. Will the stipes go nuts?
  10. This is a nice touch. Made my day.
  11. Probably backed the horse and not the driver..?
  12. Gabby's Star and Graham Sinnamon... Not allowed fun in harness, stingy stipes will be getting you for saluting before the finish line. Odds on you will get told off. Tell them to get stuffed and tell them you have to get to the bank (don't say tote)
  13. Above the Rest 101FF but only 17 tote... Someone else is on the money...Kiran More could be an Indian bookmaker Don't miss out.
  14. It is actually 7 meetings up until Sunday. No sure the account will cope.
  15. And by having the first 4 races as harness everyone will see them...Most people will probably be gone by the end of the gallops ?
  16. Strap yourself in for 3 more meetings in quick succession... My big tip is that it will be hot. On the track, maybe Double Rainbow in the first. See a certain trotter is going for 4 in a row. Good luck to MM.
  17. What is he up to these days?
  18. So why bother? Can't they create a circuit and make it more appealing or is that opportunity long gone?
  19. I will go with the latter. Human nature not to be controversial....everyone loves a good bitch now and then ? By not addressing issues of importance (or otherwise) it is just perpetuating the long held conservatism and she'll be right attitude that easily pervades. In the long run it does no good for anyone or anything. If one looks at an issue and worries about it being 'personal' then one has it all wrong. Mr Yips was all about the 'rule' By avoiding it, it becomes personal because it is seem as saving your mates or bosses bacon.
  20. Good point and valid counter argument but why wouldn't they?
  21. They getting to you little by little?
  22. Watching bits of Auckland last night reminded me of how remiss I was to leave out the state of Northern harness in my brief review. The redevelopment of Auckland has had a few hiccups hasn't it. Whether it will turn around harness racing in the north will take time but it really needs to kick in soon as the fields are tiny and reliant on trotters. When the All Star army descend on Auckland and take most of the spoils ( just like Mr House in Palmy) it must annoy the 'locals' How can it not? The north doesn't seem to have the depth of trainers or drivers coming through (though stand to be corrected) and the cost of setting up anywhere near Auckland is just the same as any regular joe with a job. Frightening. Get that mass training complex built somewhere in striking distance of Auckland and Cambridge and go from there... Where is northern harness?....4 back on the outside with a lap to go....will they go up to sit park and brave it or will they be left last at the 800m when they are running home in 54...at least the field is likely to be small at Alex Park so not too bad lol ? Stand to be corrected by any knowledgeable northern boys on here.
  23. Harsh title and don't really mean it. 9 starts and you are a winning an Auckland Cup as a 4 year old. Seems the horse has the world at its feet. The factory just keeps churning them out doesn't it. The horse hasn't followed a normal path at all so to do this is a wonderful training feat. Does anybody remember a horse who has gone close to doing what Turn It Up did last night with so few starts under his belt? The race itself throws up a few a things. Again not the most interesting race to watch and a a time of 4.03 but last half of 54.3 and quarter in 26.1. If you aren't choosing the right time to move in a race then you have no chance these days if you are off the pace. Are the NZ Cup and Auckland Cups now the pathway for 4 year olds? Where does that leave the good, but not good enough 5 or 6 year olds, who are in behind the blue army on ability. I see they filled 4 of the first 6 placings last night AND 4 of the first 5 in the NZ Cup (AND 3 of the first 5 in the 3 year old race and goodness knows what other domination of races in recent times) It is interesting that the Auckland Cup couldn't even generate any interest on BOAY as a contest. It really is just a foregone conclusion that an All Star will win isn't it.
  24. If you are that upset by the drive it is a good decision to be 'out for ever' Best to not bet again in the New Year. Look after yourself.
  25. First 5 letters says it all.....the rest all plays out until sunrise....?
