Bang on Mardy, what we don’t need is a culture of regurgitation of the problems, we need solutions. Unfortunately not many smart ones are coming forward, the last thing we need is Australian solutions, blindly following them has got us in the shit we now see today.
I attended Tauherenikau on Wed and Te Rapa yesterday, one of them had an average 7 race programme, $20 entry, very tired facilities, but had a fantastic atmosphere and a bigger crowd.
Te Rapa in comparison has good facilities, a significant population to draw from, big prize money, the best fields assembled in NZ, yet a smaller crowd.
Tauherenikau crowd is very weather dependant of course, but there is solutions for NZ racing amongst the above, I just don’t think we have the right people to deliver.
