  1. Crooked reporting from the crooked track. The #8 is not leading here. The #8 is not leading here either. The #8 did lead & won here. Kookaburra Bob did not lead the race box to wire. Kookaburra Bob did not lead the race at the 1st or 2nd sectional. So why are the sectionals recorded as this? Every race today (at least) is recorded as the dog that won the race led at every sectional, which is not true.
  2. Good spotting. Can't be much clearer to see the problems than in this case. Chief will fill us in once he works it out.
  3. Make this make sense. So, a dog that doesn't chase the lure is "seriously" injured if it receives a 21-day or more stand-down. Yet when the same 21-day injury is recorded for injury statistic purposes, the 21-day stand-down is a "medium" injury. It can't be both ways. Is a 21-day stand-down Medium or Serious (Major 1)?
  4. Thank you RIB for clearing this up. However, if you want to portray the image of integrity, you should be honest about it.
  5. As at 31 Aug. Sunday Manukau - abandoned due to rain on the newly refurbished all-weather track. Monday Southland - meeting now reported. What a difference a couple of days make. GRNZ, you on this?
  6. Which way is it?
  7. Wrong. The correct claim would be 5/1000 or 99.5% of race starts have no major 2+ injury. 8/1000 or 99.2% of race starts have no major injury. I thought you had a passion for statistics? Maybe you should normalize your thinking.
  8. Why do you believe I am a hypocrite? For comparing greyhound injury data in near real time against GRNZ's set KPI's for injuries? I didn't set GRNZ's KPI targets, they did. If no-one takes the time to compare realized injuries to their KPI's, then those targets are basically empty words, something GRNZ has proven themselves to excel at over the years. You know, empty words like~ 2014 safety rails for all tracks 2022 safety rail for Manukau "Welfare underpins everything we do" like~ Sending one dog with a broken leg an hour away to Gore to be operated on, then two weeks later the next dog to incur the same broken leg on 10+ hour long haul to Rangiora for its welfare. GRNZ expects 2 dogs per 1000 starts to incur a major 2+ injury. One month into the season 5 per 1000 starts have been realized. Is GRNZ alarmed? Doesn't seem so, because they're not being very transparent about it.
  9. 2024/2025 Season Major 2+ GRNZ KPI = .214% August 2024 = .476% or over double their KPI figure. August 2023 = .119% or about half of their current (relaxed) KPI figure. You don't have to be concerned about it. However, I am. With over double the KPI rate in August, they'll have to go the entire month of September with zero Major 2+ injuries to get back even close to their target.
  10. Well, you said last year it was worthless nonsense too, but I'll compare Aug 2024 with Aug 2023 for you. Aug 2024 vs Aug 2023 Plus 11 Starters Minus 7 Major 1 Injuries (22 to 42 day) Plus 12 Major 2 Injuries (43+ day)
  11. First month of the new racing season has been completed. Well done to Cambridge! As for the others, not so much.
  12. They didn't catch the 2:05pm flight since the post time was 2:24pm. So, if they flew it (which I don't believe they would have) it wouldn't have departed until 4:10pm. Arrived Chch 5:30pm, then driven from the airport to Rangiora. Then another 24 minutes by vehicle. Auckland/Cambridge have an RTR facility in close proximity. Wanganui/Palmerston North have an RTR facility in close proximity. Christchurch has an RTR facility in close proximity. Invercargill not so much. Tape them up & give them a splint and hope no-one works out what's happening. What about the stops every couple of hours to empty the dogs (not just the dog with a broken leg) but a van/trailer/bus full of their other dogs? The same trainer had 41 dogs that got a start that needed to go home too. So that keeps the injured dog at the track until after 3:30pm, then an 8-hour drive to Rangiora. Tack on at least another couple of hours for emptying stops. A dog with a broken leg didn't make it to the RTR facility until the next morning, at best. If welfare unpins everything GRNZ does, the welfare in GRNZ terms must mean a voodoo doll, because this instance is full of pins & their words are full of holes. Either that or the Stewards report is a fraud. Take your pick. Go ahead and ring GRNZ @Chief Stipe. Find out what magical thing they claim happened, so you can come back & have a go at me. On 7 Aug in Invercargill, this happened. Then in a follow up about More Proof a week later.
  13. Invercargill today. Race 8 post time was 14:24. Dog with the on-track vet after the injury 14:30ish. Stewards report first posted to GRNZ website 16:34. How did the dog get from Invercargill to Rangiora between 2:30pm and 4:30pm? Stewards report the dog "WAS" transported. Shouldn't it read "WILL BE" transported or enroute to? Invercargill to Rangiora 7 1/2 hours per Google maps. Is this in the best interest of the greyhound and the most humane way to deal with the situation?
  14. Last week. Two days apart. Same trainer/kennel. Same ownership. Same Stud. Different Dams. One is male. One is female. One is less than 3 years old. One is less than 2 years old. Both had won the race prior to having their seizure. Toxins which cause seizures in dogs from an unbiased source. https://sevneurology.com/blog/toxins-for-dog-seizures Surely with two instances, GRNZ and/or RIB will be all over this anomaly for the welfare of the dogs. No other greyhounds in NZ have been reported by the RIB as being stood down due to seizures in 2024.
  15. Things GRNZ intend to do, don't happen. From the 2024 - 2026 GRNZ Statement of Intent. Actual number in the 2023/2024 season of sprint races on straight tracks (including non-tote) run was 28 or 7% of the number targeted. Results from those 28 races Number of starters = 200 Number of major injuries incurred = 2 1% (10 per 1000) starters were seriously injured on the straight track which was built with the purpose of reducing major injuries. With only 200 starters, granted it is only a small sample size, however it ranked as the 2nd most likely for a starter to sustain a major injury on an NZ track. From the 2025-2027 GRNZ Statement of Intent GRNZ has since dropped its target for the 2024/2025 season from 390 races in their previous SOI to 260 races for this season in their most current SOI. Two race meets into the current racing season have been held and consisted of a total of 18 races, well off the pace to achieve 260 for the racing season. Results from those 18 races Number of starters = 122 Number of major injuries incurred = 1 0.82% (8 per 1000) starters have been seriously injured on the straight track this racing season. Again, it's only a small sample size, but it is the only information available. The dogs simply aren't going down the track in numbers or regularity. Once again it is ranking near the top of NZ tracks most likely for a greyhound to sustain a major injury this season. Draw whatever conclusion you'd like from the above facts.
  16. Unticking a dog that is qualified to race is falsifying the dogs race record. The Steward didn't require a satisfactory trial prior to returning to race so the dog remain qualified, dead or alive.
  17. You had to contact them for information? I thought GRNZ was all about transparency. They seem to tell the Minister of Racing that is the case?
  18. Proof? Post it. None of this is available publicly. Why does a dead dog still have a trainer?
  19. You asked for it. 31 July 2023 Quarterly report. Manukau has been identified as the highest priority at this time, with initial assessments currently underway, and an expectation that a final design will be received in September, with installation completed by late November 2023. The installation of the safety rail will not impact the trial or racing schedule at Auckland during the installation phase. A race 30 July 2023 when it became the highest priority. A race 31 Dec 2023 a month after the safety rail was targeted to be installed. The race I asked where the new safety rail was & you told me it was right there. A race from last Sunday & still no NEW safety rail. Enough proof there has not been a NEW safety rail installed at Manukau? If not, here's 2014 when all tracks were supposed to have a new safety rail rolled out, way back then. That should settle it.
  20. Dead dog still registered to race, at lease 24 hours after the death was announce (after digging thru the rule book to determine this) by the RIB. Still has a trainer. Still has a training location. Still able to be nominated at noon today, as the single day stand-down issued yesterday has expired! Race 8 Clubhouse Cambridge Distance - C2d - 650 Big Time Taniwha Rule 22(1)(c) from 22 Aug 2024 to 22 Aug 2024
  21. Not what I said. This is what I said. Last Friday was 16 Aug. Therefore Was nominated on 16 Aug for Cambridge 22 Aug. Raced 16 Aug Wanganui, finished in 7th place & was not post-race vet checked. Died sometime between race completion on the 16 Aug and race kenneling 22 Aug. Maybe I did make an error in going for the nomination scandal. I should have gone all out right from the start. Another Cole dog essentially dropped dead at the lure, but this time it took just a bit longer than the race camera's being turned off. Could have been minutes later, could have been hours, but definitely was less than a week. 24 May 2024, or just 3 months ago ~ Was it sent to Massey this time? Probably not as there is no notation to that effect. It wouldn't have mattered if it did anyways. Massey would just tick the socially correct boxes and come back with something like they did last time, just like they do every time. There's never anything wrong when a Cole dog drops dead. General: The Stewards have obtained the autopsy report from Massey University for the greyhound RAPIDO SCUD, who collapsed at the lure and was subsequently pronounced dead at the Wanganui GRC meeting on May 24, 2024. The report's findings were unable to determine a definitive cause of death.
  22. Nominations close the Friday prior for Cambridge Thursday meetings. This dog was deemed fit & ready to race by its trainer last Friday but has since up & died between that point and today's racing. The dead dog is still registered to race! Really? I know I've been critical of this trainer's nomination patterns in the past, but this one takes the cake. Has the RIB opened an investigation into this? This isn't because a bitch went into season in the meantime. Going forward, I believe an RIB investigator accompanied by a race day vet should periodically turn up at their kennel in the afternoon after they had nominated their dog to race earlier that day.
  23. So, you are suggesting starting the new season data I'm collecting since 1 Aug, which just happens to be the same day GRNZ's 2024-2025 season begins, as me cherry picking data timeframes. Got it. Just to be clear, are all what are deemed to be inaccurate threads/posts hidden on your forum? I'm not above making valid complaints of my own in the future. So calling out GRNZ & the RIB for their misdoings, shortfalls and/or empty words put me on par with the anti-racing community? I didn't realize I was supposed to eat the food powers have fed me in order to follow the industry. Let's keep Manukau & Cambridge the great safe/low injury tracks we all know they were & are! They won't become more dangerous than any other NZ tracks until GRNZ has told me that's the case. But what about their safety rails, especially Manukau's...?
