  1. Even worse. Did the useless Auckland Steward give the all-clear for payment, then changed their mind later?
  2. Hmmm... First Addington then two days later Auckland. The power grid must be in shambles.
  3. I'm still waiting to hear your defense Chief.

The essentially new BATTERY-operated lure? It worked fine for the stir-ups. It worked fine for the first half of the race. The lure lost power due to improper actions of the lure driver is a much more likely scenario. Why didn't the Stewards report mention they had to repair or change the lure? Two dogs sustained major injuries due to the mishap. What was even worse, two more dogs later in the card fractured hocks on the newly renovated track. Historically, it's the safest time of the year for dogs to be racing injury wise. Nothing to see here folks. Addington has been upgraded and everything is fine. 🙈🙉🙊
  5. Perhaps. But setting the 2024/2025 goal at a higher percentage than was achieved in the most recently published 2022/2023 isn't reducing injuries. What they've done is widen to goal posts for a tough sideline try conversion kick. If the 2024/2025 season ends with their KPI exactly met at 6.32/1000, then they'll be able to say how wonderfully they've done, even though it's worse than 2 seasons prior during the 2022/2023 season. Where's Manukau's safety rail? They've signaled many times it was the most urgent track to need one to increase the overall track safety. 2014 was a failure. November 2023 was a failure. January 2024 was a failure. It's now August 2024 & it's still nowhere to be seen. GRNZ needs to action what they say they are going to do & do it when they say they're going to have it done to have any creditability. Ok Chief, defend GRNZ about Manukau's safety rail...
  6. Help explain how this makes sense. GRNZ - Welfare is at the heart of everything we do... 2024/2025 Target - Major 1, Major 2 & Euth. - 6.32 per thousand starters. In the last full season which GRNZ has publicly reported on (2022/2023), 6.3 per thousand was achieved. So GRNZ's goal for the current season allows for more major injuries than 2 season ago? GRNZ's statement of intent clearly says they will seek to reduce injuries, not increase the number of "acceptable" injuries, which is exactly what they've done.
  7. Sounds like an issue for GRNZ to deal with. Maybe you could help them out? Until then, I'll just keep measuring what is occurring on the track against what their "acceptable" goal is.

Got time for this Chief? Two race meetings now complete after the track overhaul. Ut oh...
  9. In the interim, I have my data to support my claim. Six months from now, when GRNZ finally releases their full season injury data, my statement will become officially substantiated. You can countdown the 180 days if you'd like to Chief.
  10. Overall injuries Major 1, Major 2 & Euth. 23/24 season (my data) .68% of all starters. 22/23 season (GRNZ) .63% of all starters. 21/22 season (GRNZ) .67% of all starters. 20/21 season (GRNZ) .69% of all starters. GRNZ did not provide injury data publicly for previous seasons. If GRNZ shut down Manukau in November 2023 for its refurb and transferred racing operations to Cambridge, instead of waiting until March 2024 to do it, their overall KPI for major injuries may have been achieved. On top of that, GRNZ constantly singled the need to refurb Addington, yet delayed & waited until they could most conveniently fit it into the schedule. If they acted with haste, once the need had been identified, and actioned Manukau in November which was blatantly obvious, their KPI for major injuries would have been easily met. The failure rests solely on decision GRNZ had made.
  11. Here's the ultimate YJCMTSU. For the 2024/2025 season, GRNZ declares that Animal Welfare goals are unachievable & therefore have to become far less important. 2024/2026 Statement of intent. https://www.grnz.co.nz/Files/Statement of Intent/FINAL GRNZ Statement of Intent FY2024-FY2026.pdf 2025/2027 Statement of intent. https://www.grnz.co.nz/Files/Statement of Intent/GRNZ Statement of Intent FY2025-FY2027 FINAL.pdf We'll just push the unachieved goal originally set for the 2023/2024 season out to the 2026/2027 season, pretend it didn't happen & cross our fingers that Govt doesn't shut us down.
  12. Interesting angle. Does that angle stand true here too? https://racingintegrityboard.org.nz/decisions/non-raceday-inquiry-written-decision-dated-30-july-2024-joshua-lane/ What's going on here? What's this the 5th different trainer with an Arsenic positive with no meaningful consequences? The rule has been there for ages now. GRNZ repeatedly puts up a "reminder" on their website. Never mind, give the money you won back (when you can afford it) & get on with it.
  13. I did post real time data. Has GRNZ posted completed 23/24 season data, no. I have. Has GRNZ posted 23/24 Q4 data, no. I have. FFS, GRNZ hasn't even made their 23/24 Q3 injury data public yet! Q3 ended 3 months ago.
  14. Point 1) You don't know how quoting a previous post works on your website. When you quote a previous post (a couple weeks old in this case) it brings that already existing data into the new post. Point 2) No racing on today (31 Jul) means 23/24 Q4 & Season are effectively completed. Grow up Chief.
  15. It was updated, today. The dog was found to have a pin muscle injury after the event. No stand-down imposed. Read it for yourself if you'd like. https://www.grnz.co.nz/catch-the-action/15981/stewards-report.aspx
  16. Don't you know how your website works?
  17. Other (now old) data didn't include last Wednesday's racing.
  18. 2023/2024 Season Totals. Overall KPI not achieved in any category (Total, Minor/Medium, or Major. My takeaway. At least for major injuries, I believe the KPI is achievable if (and that's a big IF) GRNZ monitors individual track injury statistics in real time & doesn't wait around forever to made needed improvement to the track. If they fixed Manukau & Addington when the shocking injury rates were first being detected, overall KPI achievement would have been a breeze. Those tracks would have been "out of service" for the same amount of time, but by delaying their repairs until a more convenient time, it really came back to bite them in the ass, in more ways than one. 2022/2023 compared to 2023/2024 seasons. Up in all categories. Total injuries - 22/23 = 24.2 per thousand. 23/24 = 25.9 per thousand (+1.7 per thousand) Minor/Med injuries - 22/23 = 17.9 per thousand. 23/24 = 19 per thousand (+1.1 per thousand) Major1/2/Death - 22/23 = 6.33 per thousand. 23/24 = 6.84 per thousand (+.5 per thousand)
  19. 2023/2024 Q4 is complete. Special shoutout to Palmerston North - No major injuries for the entire quarter.
  20. Why aren't they catching injuries post-race? Blackcurrant wasn't vetted post-race. Drive Angry wasn't vetted post-race. No stand-down issued for a pin muscle injury? Seems to me they might be trying to coverup race day injuries sustained on the crooked track.
  21. GRNZ fights back about their crooked track. They seem to be happy with it. https://www.grnz.co.nz/News/3235/Wanganui-Straight-Track Wanganui Straight Track There have now been two totalisator race meetings at the Wanganui Straight Track. A huge thank you to everyone who has made this happen - we have had excellent feedback from owners and trainers whose dogs raced there, and also around the television coverage. The scheduling for race meetings at the Wanganui Straight Track going forward will be finalised after next week’s GRNZ Board meeting on 31 July. The separate August schedule for racing at the Wanganui Straight Track is currently being finalised with the Wanganui GRC, Entain and the RIB from a servicing perspective. Thanks, GRNZ Posted on 26 July 2024
  22. Breaking News. Chief redefines "straight" in an attempt to defend GRNZ's failure.
  23. Bridge seems pretty straight?
  24. The measuring tool must be crooked, right Chief?
  25. Wanganui's oval horse track home straight is straighter than the dog track.
