I had previously posted a spreadsheet showing the injury rate of the current racing season, which was 19 days into it. I then received notification from @Chief Stipe that he had received a creditable complaint (overnight no less) that my figures were incorrect. So, let's try it this way, buy using the official's words. #1 02 Aug Chch. #2 02 Aug Wang Oval. #3 06 Aug Palmy. #4 07 Aug Southland. #5 08 Aug Chch. #6 09 Aug Chch. #7 11 Aug Akl. #8 14 Aug Southland. #9 16 Aug Wang Oval. #10 19 Aug Wang Straight. #11 19 Aug Chch. That's what they have to say, as reported by the RIB on GRNZ's website. 6 Major 1 injuries (22 to 42 days). 10 Major 2 injuries (43 to 90 days). During the 16 individual days during this racing season which race meets were held. One greyhound per day (on average) is off to the greyhound injury ward. No matter how they want to spin (or cancel/hide) it. It isn't pretty. I don't know about you @Chief Stipe, but I believe the sanitized version I was publishing without the dog's names & dates was more appropriate for your forum. That said, either way will work I suppose. One final note to be fair & transparent, the spreadsheet I had initially posted which @Chief Stipe won't let you see, did have an error because of this following instance, which I found very unclear between the multiple Stewards reports, as to what actually did happen. 09 Aug Wang Oval. I've now removed this instance from my spreadsheet to reflect that no 28-day stand-downs were issued for 09 Aug race meet due to racing injuries, which I now believe is the correct data of the meet.

Lure is required to be between 4m & 10m...

OK, you asked for it. Where is the track information for the new straight track on GRNZ's website? https://www.grnz.co.nz/catch-the-action/WAN/clubs-and-venue-detail.aspx The WGRC doesn't even have a 313m race distance! They sure do have a nice spread about the oval track. Yet they have nothing about their new crooked track.

I didn't get anything wrong, with the information GRNZ & the RIB provides to the public. Since you claim I got it wrong, just what is GRNZ rule LR75D(2)?
-
Just what is this @Chief Stipe? This is not a thread I initiated last Friday at 09:35 AM. This is not a thread I initiated ever. Why are you putting my name on a thread I didn't start? If you want to take a post out of another thread and begin a new thread, at least have the balls to use your own account to do so.

Thanks for clarifying Sarah. As for "new rules", do you have any idea if GRNZ keeping some of them secret? In asking this, I understand that you're probably tied to the CGRC & this came out of the AGRC meeting yesterday. Maybe these resent issues could come down to GRNZ using one version of the rules & the RIB using another?

Auckland today. Dog scratched under a rule that doesn't exist. Oddly enough, weren't we just talking about a very similar situation? No warning, No fine. NO INTEGRITY.
-
1 Aug at Addington, another trainer failed to scratch by the prescribed time (7:30am) denying a reserve a chance to start & was fined $300. Opawa Pip wasn't scratched by the prescribed time which denied Claws In Rambo or Culvie Bun a chance to start. No warning, No fine. NO INTEGRITY.

Addington last night. Welcome back Lisa. So, Lisa nominated an ineligible dog which was accepted to a field & had to be late scratched, because it hadn't completed a safe return to racing trial. Instead of running in the race it was drawn to, it completed its safe return to racing trial. But what about the rule covering this sort of event? The RIB did not fine her. The RIB did not warn her. The RIB decided to turn a blind eye to the rule entirely, which suggests either favouritism or ineptness. Why doesn't GRNZ have systems in place so a dog not eligible to be drawn to a field isn't able to be nominated? Welfare is top priority after all, right?
-
I know what rule 77 is about. You don't know the reason E Cole received a warning. Work that out & get back to me.
-
You don't know what you're talking about. First you need to work out what the RIB warned E Cole about. I did that for you. You simply dismissed it, as normal.
-
Why warn E Cole for this? That's about as effective as warning the Pope. E Cole does not train Big Time Joker, Lisa Cole does. E Cole is not a trainer. E Cole is a handler. Drain the swamp & get a real unbiased professional outfit to police the greyhound code.

I wanted to edit the previous post to read 09 Aug report instead of 02 Aug report, but the powers didn't want to allow it.
-
Actually, there is something. No explanation as to why. Also of note from that same 02 Aug report, another rule was noted to have been breached for a different dog, yet with little/no consequence, for guess who... It's to do with welfare, so you'd think they'd treat it as important and do something to act as a deterrent, other than writing their name in the newspaper.
-
Someone had to do it. It's obvious you didn't have the knowledge or know how to get the info to answer it.
-
More favouritism again today. Same kennel, rule breached - no consequence. Late scratchings: 1). BIG TIME ZOLA (L Cole) - race 10. BIG TIME ZOLA was a late scratching by order of the Stewards as per GRNZ Rule 19(4)(b) when found to be ineligible to start due to a 28 day stand down imposed on the 9th of August at Wanganui GRC.

The RIB told everyone. From the 24 July Stewards report. The punting dividends were paid on 6 June after the all-clear of the race was called & then the (new) results of the race were changed on 24 July, many weeks later.
-
The dog was disqualified well after the fact, long after the all-clear was given & dividends to the punters have been paid. Greyhounds should have ear tattoo's & microchips which are checked prior to kenneling & then again after they've been prepared for the race. If the dog is later selected for a swab, it should be checked a third time. Oh wait, all those measures are already in place. There are more than enough measures in place to assure integrity. If any or everyone drops the ball, they should be held to account. The results now say Big Time Taxi won the race with a win dividend of $1.40. That's quite odd seeing the win dividend should have been $3.60. How does a punter go about returning the money they won betting on All Over Rover or Need A Favour, which ever dog it actually was? How does a punter collect the $3.60 on their $1 win ticket? Maybe Fair Go should be brought back for one more episode to work it out.
-
No integrity for punters. No accountability. Who's done it, not what has been done. https://www.grnz.co.nz/catch-the-action/15992/stewards-report.aspx Palmerston North GRC - 10 June 2024 Stewards have concluded their investigation regarding the scratching of ‘NEED A FAVOUR' at the Palmerston North GRC’s meeting on the 10 June 2024. It has been established that two black greyhounds, 'ALL OVER ROVER' and 'NEED A FAVOUR,' were mistakenly identified at the Cole kennels, due to their close resemblance, similar microchip numbers and adjacent kenneling. Trainer Lisa Cole, presented the wrong dog (presumed to be ‘NEED A FAVOUR’) to qualifying trials at the Palmerston North Greyhound Racing Club on May 28, 2024, where the discrepancy in the microchip number was not detected. The error persisted through to the Waikato GRC's meeting on June 6, 2024, where ‘ALL OVER ROVER’ mistakenly raced as 'NEED A FAVOUR'. In response to the steward’s findings, Greyhound Racing New Zealand (GRNZ) has removed the greyhound named NEED A FAVOUR from all trial and race results. The greyhound ALL OVER ROVER has been entered retrospectively and has been disqualified by the stewards from qualifying and racing at the specified meetings.

It's never been about what has been done. It's always been about who's done it. Coles are more protected within the greyhound industry than kiwis are protected as an endangered species by the NZ Govt. Coles should have been charged for presenting the wrong dog. Kenneling Steward should have been charged for not detecting that it was the incorrect dog. That'd be integrity, which is something that has been seriously lacking in all the years I've followed the sport.
-
Nope, not happening. The #1 hit the rail - the useless Steward didn't acknowledge it. GRNZ hasn't put up the safety rail either. They too are useless.

So are the Stewards reports. Lure loses power at Addington - no corrective action taken. Two days later~ Lure loses power at Manukau - lure was replaced & tested.
