Wasn't fair, complete rubbish surface
-
Kate definitley held back criticism in her interview. The track completley broke up after being verti-drained. Once you have used this force, you weaken the core ground beneath. Yes the water drains, so we race on, but the horses that got in behind were at a significant disadvantage. I share in the ownership of a horse in a early sprint race. Came back blinkers full of sand and grass divots. Who wants to run head first into stinging sand at 65km begs the question. Is the track really playing fair..

Not to mention, this horse had transport issues on the way to the races that day. I understand it was upside down in the transporter, upon arrival to another trainers premises, to pick up other horses racing on the day. Off it's head. Getting away with Blue Murder by way of a fine IMO.

It's winter, and and this is where the apprentices have their time to shine, But things are looking rather miserable in the App jockey standards. Our leading apprentices cannot even keep hold of their whips, they get done constantly for over use of whip, Some only seem to perform the further south they go, some still cannot use the reins to steer and constantly get suspended, not even to mention most cannot even claim all of what they should be able to. The improvement that should be there, just isn't 🤷♂️ Shouldn't they be getting better?! I have always been a punter, But now I find myself searching for other things to watch on TV, and saving myself money, or waiting to watch proper riding further afield. How times have changed.

Under 50 horses to run tomorrow by the looks. Maybe they should have re-opened noms? With the money up, surely plenty that are in Wednesday would have looked to run Saturday. Hardly worth turning the TV on , IMO

Will this be the End of? Or is their still some court proceedings ongoing/coroner's report?

Sam McCrae?

Too many inexperienced "young jocks". Absolute shocking riding by some today, no wonder Bosson,Harris etc don't take Many mounts. I have 23 years of racing in my blood,I have Trained winners, Ridden 50 winners, have a 2yo filly in work, support the game fully, But I'm really starting to question if my future is best applied elsewhere.

Training at Riccarton in Dire Straits: Even the AWT is cracking up!
JMO replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Galloping Chat
Water trucks, But they only do the ploughs and stall areas to keep the dust down. The poly holds some sort of moisture in it, and While the plough is open, Not many use the AWT -

Cambridge doesn't water the AWT. It's fluffy trackwork, then gets tightened trial/raceday . Personally, Great surface for the older horses,Jumpouts, Education .. But the young horses tend to pull injuries on it. Bone structure isn't quite as strong 🤷♂️ Definitely has its place in the Wet months! -
Is Half the NZ Jockey Population Suspended or Injured?

Shocker ride on Gee Cee -
No one rides the circuts better! Found that MOJO again 😬👍

May I add, These top riders stand out when watching a race on these better tracks, they can drop their hands, make their mounts relax, and get in a rythym. OK it's never that easy, but it helps save some 🥕 🥕 At the end where it counts!

Laking with his quiet hands and ability to hold him up, Both Gelled together, might be another decent race in him yet 👍

Anything good come from this meet? Stipes report doesn't suggest so. Trial meeting would have been suffice 🤷♂️ Couple of nice ponies that raced, Couple to follow... Green or not, this is not a product we should be selling worldwide.

Is this not a freedom site to ask what we feel? I'm sorry if it hits the wrong buttons, but it's black and white

So as I understand, The Purdon/Rassmussen Training partnership resumes from January. Anyone In the know why this team made such a big thing of stepping away from Training, and finding a new young trainer to take over, then he seemingly gets the ass.. All of a sudden horses are going like the team of old... Seems abit shady to me 🤷♂️

The aim of the AW tracks is to give our grass tracks a break during the winter,as much as they can. And the AW is another element/puzzle for punters to figure out, they should be happy. The dividends can be Gold if you know your stuff 🧐

Cambridge AWT is a neccesity for the coming months or when other tracks are not up to standard. Horses with ability will still be sold,Smart Trainers know they need to win on a grass surface to make the right money. The all weather isn't perfect for every scenario, but it does keep the options open.
