  1. Quoi moi?? non non non tres populaire!! Alors...methinks part of the problem at NZTR/RIB is a general MALAISE has crept in over the years from long time employees like Tim Aldridge/John Oatham For example simple punter 'requirements' such as "where was the last freaken rail position at your last meeting ffs" or...what Australian punters ask for and receive "change of tactics...we're going forward today" Just general table manners sadly lacking at NZTR's tableau One can only hope these 3 new employees make a difference on even minor things...like posting stipe videos
  2. brady.jones@rib.org.nz is your man I always prefer to get to the root of the problem and Brady is always very helpful when assisting those who don't know the nearest address of Specsavers
  3. Jocasta's family brings back some memes Erinie Yule's old family and highly strung! Entering some of theses mares in the crush required crash helmets and endorphin inducing grabs of neck skin not to mention twitches Jocasta won the Challenge Stakes as a 2yo with 44kgs if I recall correctly...then when leading and well clear in another stakes race at Trentham went clean through the running rail Daughter Princess Jocinda was very fast and matched some good neddys in Oz...dam of BALWALAKSANA
  4. So Brad Collins with the help of Kate Hercock manages to calm down a highly strung gelding...nek minute and now settled, Brad slaps the horse twice in the head maybe he thought it was about to go off again?? But of course it's verboten The irony here is Hercock's comment "you're not supposed to hit horse's on the head" By now I've shown many stakeholders Hercock striking the head of a filly the week before this...while using the whip in a forehand position...curling under the ear with the entire length of the whip end sitting snuggly along the base of the eye socket and making direct contact with the corner of the eye Of course the RIB find absolutely nothing wrong with this whip tactic and ignore the consequences...such as these head bashings One rule for barrier attendants another for jockeys......look at this hypocritical rubbish ..it is forbidden for any person to strike a horse on the head. It is well known to all engaged in racing that it is a very sensitive and vulnerable part of a horse’s body, "Mr Goodwin presented an Information charging Barrier Attendant Mr B Collins with Misconduct, in breach of Rule 800 in that he hit the horse OCEAN BEAU in the vicinity of its head with an open hand on two occasions, whilst it was in the starting gates before the running of Race 1, the “GRANT PLUMBING MAIDEN SPRINT”. Mr Collins did not admit the breach of the Rule. The head-on film of this 1200 metre race depicted that OCEAN BEAU, in barrier No. 1 at the gates, was proving to be very difficult. It was fractious and rearing several times. The Barrier Attendant beside the No. 1 stall was Mr Collins. Ms Hercock was the Rider of the horse. Her evidence was that the horse was very difficult and she felt “it was getting dangerous” and she had hoped it would be late scratched. She said that Mr Collins was doing his best to deal with the situation in order to “keep me safe”. After the horse had stopped rearing and was momentarily standing still, Mr Collins then hit it twice on the head with his open hand. Ms Hercock was adamant in her defence of Mr Collins that he was “keeping her safe”, but she acknowledged that “you are not supposed to do it” (ie hit on head). REASONS FOR DECISION: Despite the obvious extenuating circumstances, the Adjudicative Committee found the charge of Misconduct established....it is forbidden for any person to strike a horse on the head. It is well known to all engaged in racing that it is a very sensitive and vulnerable part of a horse’s body, and all know (as Ms Hercock said) “you are not supposed to do it”. Whilst the degree of force used was not severe and Mr Collins said his “aim was to keep the Jockey safe”, the horse was standing immobile when he hit it. DECISION: The charge was found proved. SUBMISSIONS FOR PENALTY: Mr Goodwin acknowledged that there were extenuating circumstances and submitted that what occurred, arose out of frustration. He advised that Mr Collins had a previous conviction for Misconduct, by striking a horse behind the starting barrier at Foxton trials on 13 May 2025, for which he was fined $250. REASONS FOR PENALTY: The Adjudicative Committee advised Mr Collins that despite having some sympathy towards him, the vital purpose of any sanction was to ensure that others (whether Jockeys, Trainers, Attendants or whoever) are deterred from such actions. The welfare of horses and the integrity of racing’s social licence are predominant." Fined 2 hundy

  5. Yes a step too far for HK I'm guessing it ties in with the way they treat horse's up there And why a good number of breeders I know cringe when their beloved farm raised 'family' end up there
  6. What I cant tolerate is CHEATING This is being carried out on a large scale and your "what's wrong with hitting them between the ears" is pathetic Go and join the RIB...they'll love your laissez fearness
  7. Oh the old hear no see no 'philosophy' #pfffttt let me tell you...very shortly the general public will become patently aware of just what is going on when head bashing jockeys are exposed for cheating/animal abuse here Your ridiculous summation is what used to happen in 'a ruck' for example..hidden away never to be seen...until the bashee stumbles out of the melee battered and bloodied and not a word or red card in sight times have changed...grow up
  8. Interesting HK are finally coming around to IFHA standard 'world rules'... even if largely still muted At least HK stewards NEVER tolerate the blatant use of head bashing that the Magoo Kiwi stipes allow 4/09/2025 16:23 The Hong Kong Jockey Club today has announced amendments to the Rules of Racing regulating the use of the whip at race meetings and barrier trials. From the commencement of the 2025/26 racing season, in addition to the existing controls on the use of the whip, there will be a requirement that prior to the 100 metre mark jockeys must not use the whip in consecutive strides. The existing controls, including the requirement that the jockey’s arm must not be raised above shoulder height, continue in force. From the 100 metre mark, the concluding stage of the race lasting approximately 5 to 6 seconds, a jockey may use the whip at his or her discretion, provided always that it is not used inappropriately. The Racing Stewards will closely monitor compliance and breaches of the Rule will incur condign penalties. Accordingly, the following Rule amendment has been approved for the 2025/26 racing season: Rule 100 (3) (ii) Except when a rider’s safety is unequivocally at risk, the whip must not be used:- in consecutive strides at any time prior to the 100 metres, provided that the whip may be used at the rider’s discretion over the final 100 metres subject to Rule 100(3)(ii)(b) to (g); forward of the saddle while the whip is held in the forehand position; in the vicinity of a horse’s head or neck; when a horse is clearly winning; when a horse is clearly out of contention; in a manner whereby the rider raises the hand holding the whip above shoulder height; in an excessive, improper, unnecessary or inappropriate manner.
  9. Ridiculous.... building safe tracks are the remit of NZTR and whip abuse is the remit of RIB RIB cant even see or count....Magoo does dyscalculia
  10. Poor Rooky...after his G1 success and all of the acclamations...he goes and gets 3 suspensions for an annoying 3+ weeks holiday... just as the big races kick in over the winter holidays He might as well go back to a white Xmas back home instead of suffering on a white sand beach in the heat...Alley Palley's on and who wouldn't want a warm beer and darts v the other? And oh the ignominy...after Sunday's careless riding he gets told he has an appointment with the riding skills committee....will they also try to fix his penchant for flank whipping and strikes cheating to kill two birds..or is that 3? One minute you're up..nek minute you're drinking warm beers
  11. The last meeting at Pakenham was run on a wet track and basically destroyed the kikuyu...this meeting it was in recovery mode so the time is no surprise One of the things L O'Sullivan used to alleviate the issue of top weighted horses was to try and race them handy..it was just harder to accelerate with a heavier weight he said...makes sense and of course whipping up a painful storm on the flank gives them reason to get back to the box quicker for an ice cold...cold press
  12. Thats over 7 1/2 Lengths Does 6kgs = 7 1/2? #yeana
  13. WTAF?? Which has been LOCKED and I can no longer comment!! Absolutely zero confusion here...both horse welfare/punter is interconnected obviously The irony is NZTR (who bend over backwards to EXCLUDE whip violations in their photographs) have posted a classic FLANK shot of Rooke doing what rooks do.. all the wayyy down the straight...doubly CHEATING https://loveracing.nz/News/51347/SharpNSmarttakesWaikatoCupinthrillingfinish.aspx
  14. Why on earth did you delete my post about this horse's cheating jockey? Without cheating WOULDN'T have won
  15. Unfortunately for punters/owners of the 2nd horse he CHEATED 8 times before the 100M when 5 is allowed Under the new rules (coming) he'd have been rightly relegated a place to 2nd Cant come soon enough...who cares if he gets 50% of his fee taken off?
  16. Most jockeys know the rules and refrain from making contact when pushing out Crain Grylls doesn't...takes his hands off the neck and and purposefully flexes his wrists to make head contact so continuing the flight response with pain and noise This is the recent worst case graphically illustrated when Sam Collett bashes her mount over the head striking the eye on 3 occasions https://loveracing.nz/Common/SystemTemplates/Modal/Video.aspx?v=http%3a%2f%2fwww.racingreplays.co.nz%2fmedia%2f202510%2fM2_ROTU_R03_121025.mp4&i=%2fCommon%2fImage.ashx%3fw%3d565%26h%3d314%26a%3d1%26o%3d1%26z%3d1%26bg%3deeeeee%26p%3dhttp%3a%2f%2fwww.racingreplays.co.nz%2fmedia%2f202510%2fM2_ROTU_R03_121025.jpg&r=Race 3 - ROTORUA RACECOURSE' RACE FOR THE LADIES 1215&rs=1
  17. Is moi talking to a brick? The video nasty in the first post where Toni Davies takes her whip/hands off the neck and purposefully strikes the neck/head indiscriminately...just like Kate Hercock did when striking an eye on Saturday How can a 'horseman' such as yourself not know where the flank or shoulder is situated on a said horse ffs? Prohibited actions include: Striking a horse forward of the shoulder or near its head. Using an action that raises the rider's arm above shoulder height. Striking a horse when it is out of contention, clearly winning, or showing no response. Causing injury to the horse (e.g., welts). Using the seam of the flap as the point of contact. Using the whip in a horse's flank, a sensitive area. Quantitative Limitations (Flat Races) NZTR rules impose specific limits on the number and frequency of strikes in flat races: Prior to the final 100-metre mark: A rider may not strike a horse more than five times. A slapping motion on the shoulder with the whip hand remaining on the reins is permitted and does not count towards this total.
  18. Can you have an open mind and view the video I've provided Yay or neigh No cheating riding within the rules or.. ....head/neck contact (illegal) supplementing the total allowable whip strikes with an audio battering activating the flight response This is a screenshot directly from the NZTR website that shows what's really happening... From a vertical position pointing skywards then a powerful strike wrapping under the ear and into the corner of the eye Beware...GRAPHIC CONTENT
  19. When you have time take a look and tell me what you think Maybe in my senility I'm starting to see things that aint there...or ..the racing industry...per se...simply think the end to filthy lucre justifies the means...i.e a good old bashing over the head is just fine?? Please take my screenshot restrictions off and I'll show the horrific head on pik of Kate smashing her whip into a beautiful thoroughbred's eye socket
  20. Try Craig Grylls, Opee, Sammy Collett, Matt Cartwright, Leah Hemi, Kelly Myers et el...ANY Jock who wants an RIB blessing (complicit with tacit approval) tick WITHOUT penalty then observe and watch this video shocker from last Friday...only the head on here...but it's obvious what's going on Toni Davies on the rails leader OVERRATED...the whip in the forehand position, vertical skywards...then assaults the head/neck with total intent for an audio storm where it shoots clear and hangs on Against the rule..."no contact forward of the shoulder or in the VICINITY of the HEAD"...any horseman can easily recognise the intent https://loveracing.nz/Common/SystemTemplates/Modal/Video.aspx?v=http%3a%2f%2fwww.racingreplays.co.nz%2fmedia%2f202512%2fM4_TAKI_R07_041225.mp4&i=%2fCommon%2fImage.ashx%3fw%3d565%26h%3d314%26a%3d1%26o%3d1%26z%3d1%26bg%3deeeeee%26p%3dhttp%3a%2f%2fwww.racingreplays.co.nz%2fmedia%2f202512%2fM4_TAKI_R07_041225.jpg&r=Race 7 - EYEZ ON ICE R65 1800M&rs=1 It's not only an assault on the head/neck region of our beloved thoroughbreds but it's an assault on the integrity of racing along with the dignity of our best mates The Noble Thoroughbred..it's truly shocking what's going on and I have a disgraceful head on screenshot of Kate Hercock striking the ear and eye of her mount when winning on Saturday..without a question from the RIB
  21. Very good 'learnings' as the younguns say SO when Oatham admits to "human error" it would appear a button presser or the home help was out to the imbibing free lunch and was as pickled as an olive in Sinbad's oil? Shirley a head should role for screwing up a Group 1 race four chuck stakes?? Where's the accountability? Remember the Pukekohe meeting last year when poor sweet pea Marsh's neddy was the subject of a Sunday Star Times article courtesy of Bazza Lichter?? The timer help had a massive argument with the 'judge' according to Bazzo and the RIB brushed it away as if it was a minor mozzy bite!!! FFS x 2
  22. When I used to frequent the Kohi Cafe in the good old days of whine women and song...and long blacks Myself and the hoards of local blue rinses (who used to hang on my every word) had some decent old hum dinging 'discussions' Mostly they were anti "Jacinda' types...voted ACT...and who wouldn't have had a clue on how to run a fish and chippie let along a flaming country I could always shut them up by telling them "of course if you lot were in charge you'd have had ALL the answers to a never before experienced pan f in demic' Anyway we used to always part on good terms after a good old debate had ensued...because that's what happens at almost ALL respectable establishments One agrees to disagree..it's what our families fought for God bless them..and thank fuck we dont live in a Trump like dictatorial fascist state lead by a disgusting human being while filling his family coffers full of filthy white washed lucre from the despicable murdering Saudis...is that too harsh? Long live free speech and respectful debates ..and may the fleas of a thousands camels infest the orifices of any megalomaniacal looney who happens to take over NZ by force Join me in a long black to toast that and thanks to BOAY for allowing such
  23. Haha loving the .0 L as well So Oatham on Weigh In yesterday says "human error" How does the finishlynx work...Judge presses a button to activate before each race...or shirley in this day and age...AUTOMATIC??
  24. Crikey..both The Mail Run and Big had Cammo on this morning...good book of rides but will they put the mocka on him yet again?
