  1. Luke Radich knows his stuff. Not limited to horses either. He knew Martina Hingis at $3's was "exceptional value" against Li Na, in the Aussie Open (tennis) back in 2007. Shot Luke, well played! For those that aren't aware, the TAB "bookies" mixed up the odds on the two players. Luke knew the odds... and beat them.
  2. Totally disagree Brodie. He had heard of Christian Cullen and Bettor's Delight and that they were good sires haha
  3. All of the above (Reefton's post), would surely to goodness be the general consensus of the racing public within NZ... So why (to re-use Reefton's term), does this "standard dumb prick behaviour" continue, day in, day out, and it is tolerated?
  4. A snore fest aye... it's wanky PR bullsh!t. Less hui, more doey. Get on with it Dean. Sort it out.
  5. Jesus not much gets past you mate. Yes. I was kidding.
  6. Nothing.
  7. Ya kidding?! A news release?! I never knew that they did such things!!
  8. I mainly use Ladbrokes Australia and Neds. My take on it, was that he implied so, but it isn't a given. It is possible that the overseas betting agencies may in the future have to pay some coin back to the NZ racing industry.
  9. Yes, sorry Chief, just saw that, thanks mate.
  10. So on a nutshell, he said the TAB would be broke (even moreso) by this coming Friday, so we (the government) are going to throw some coin their way.
  11. The Right Honourable Winston Peters will be making a pre-budget announcement regarding the racing industry at midday today (Tuesday).
  12. Brodie mate you had/have a duty to your children... to get them hooked into racing for life. Led them to the kiddie tote. I don't care if your kids are now adults either, just do it. Tell them the number to say to the nice lady at the kiddie tote... if they are too shy, make them anyway. They can't have a choice in the matter, they must go to the races. My earliest memory in my life was at the races. Lotsa memories at the races. Never did me any harm. Apart from a life long adiction to feeding my habit, and now drowning in debt from owning very expensive pets, but apart from that... Now, I take my kids (pre-Covid19 days) there to the tracks and teach them all my vast knowledge... what to look for, how to read a racebook, betting strategies, horse bloodlines, drivers, trainers, how to stash the free sauce sachets and take them home, how to display appropriate behavior in public when your horse wins, or how to portion blame at others when the horse loses, all very valuable life skills. My youngest isn't even 2 years old yet, but she is going great guns so far... ya gotta get 'em early though, whilst they are still young and impressionable. Good luck mate, you can do it.
  13. I remember hearing him say that. Bloody funny. He called it as he saw it, on a number of occasions, and this undoubtedly upset management at times. Did he care? Nope. And whilst he was not everyone's cuppa tea, I liked him for offering his opinions on most things, and didn't just sit on the fence. "Marker pegs are gold, gold, gold."
  14. Yes, I think you're on the money there. And I mean no disrespect to Mr Evans.
  15. The "powers that be" are the same in my book mate.
  16. Happy, if you ever find out, please let us know.
  17. Fark knows. Is it Dean McKenzie's doing? No doubt we will hear all about it on Trackside radio come Wednesday afternoon with Peter Earley... oh no wait, no, no we won't.
  18. I would take a simulcast over nothing at all. You're down with IT stipe, how much do you reckon it would cost for the AM frequency on air, to maintain and produce per year? And how much cheaper for a simulcast only?
  19. Wishful thinking. But surely, they would have to wouldn't they?! They won't, but they should put the stations on FM. I just shake my head at all this sh!t they (RITA) are doing. Spend more than $50m on a dog of a website, pay $17m per year for it, but can't even have radio Trackside anymore. Absolutely farkn clueless.
  20. Absolute bloody bullsh!t, canning Radio Trackside. Unbelievable. But believable at the same time, with these dumbarses running the joint.
  21. Reports coming through that RITA have let Davey Mac go, as part of the cost cutting... Farewell Mr MacDonald, thank you for your many decades of service to the racing industry, you'll be missed, especially your "brained them", and "bolted in" calls.
  22. You are dead right mate. Couldn't agree more. The point I was making was that the sneaky buggers (Trackside TV production) are trying their hardest to protect their doggy friends, from any potential fallout from viewers maybe wanting to dob in other people. Very much in similar fashion as to how Addington club officials stuck up notices requesting that no videos obtained oncourse were posted to social media. This was during their last race meeting. I get it. I understand it... Trying to put out fires before the fires start. For want of a better term... it did like a decent blaze there today!
  23. Either the Ministry of Health closed them down... or there was a fire oncourse.
  24. Last few races there today abandoned. Oh well never mind.
