you said that The Sate 'owns' the Tab... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/State-owned_enterprises_of_New_Zealand my last post here... you are welcome to the company of the likes of Barrby and Pete... mental midgets like so many in racing!!!
-
is it yours to sell igit boy!
-
other state owned stuff don't need their own minister...
-
Dear I ask then? why then is there a Minister for Racing then? Set up by the Nats if I recall correctly?
-
As I have mentioned previously! This approach is classical Procedural Politics!!! The work of a desperate lot! Par for the course in a Sunset Industry! Circle the wagons sort of stuff! Not a breeding buff myself! but I ponder how many in current leadership have doses of Custer in their Whakapapa???
-
I hear that a new right wing party is about to be formed! The Chicken Little Party! lead by Henny Penny! their catch cry is going to be "the sky is falling". ps. as this is a things racing site! please remind me again what the Nat$ done for racing during their 9 years in power? the silence to this question is deafening!!!! I will give you all a hand with this, they threw a few dollars for race course maintenance!
-
Can one actually answer that sort of question without all the economic facts???
-
You off course don't understand proportional representation! ps, I bet you were foaming at the mouth when you typed that out! ?
-
tick! and don't they bleat! baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa…. Perhaps the blue team (and I'm sure that just about all the *leaders* in Racing fit that bill) can share what team blue delivered to racing! It's interesting to speculate why they didn't/would touch *Racing* with a barge poll!!! perhaps because any personal venue into thing$ racing didn't delivery! Reflecting on the M report, I've not see much about the cost of getting the products to the Track being way to expensive! and nothing about real wages not growing for 30+ years for 'the average' kiwi! always amusing to note that 70% of kiwi's not coming up to the average!

read and weep for all those heard yelling "the sky is falling! the sky is falling!" ? Economy performance a 'cracker' By Dene Mackenzie Business The New Zealand economy produced a cracker of a performance in the three months ended June, ASB senior economist Jane Turner says. The economy grew at 1% in the three months, double the growth rate of 0.5% in March. The 1% growth was above both economists' and Reserve Bank forecasts. The annual growth rate was 2.8%, ahead of 2.6% in March and the Reserve Bank's forecast of 2.5%. Ms Turner said growth in the quarter was strong and would have been phenomenal if not for a near 20% decline in mining production due to an unplanned shut down in gas production. As expected, GDP growth was led by strong growth in electricity generation, a large broad-based lift in agricultural production, a strong performance in retail and wholesale trade, and strong growth in arts, recreational and cultural services. There was also stronger than expected growth in other parts of services, including a strong 1.8% lift in transport, postal and warehousing, and a 1.1% lift in information media and telecommunications. "It is evident in the second quarter all parts of the economy were performing well as the strength was remarkably broad-based. "This sits with our view the economy is currently benefiting from a number of supports." Those supports included high terms of trade, low interest rates and high population growth. Statistics New Zealand reported a leaking pipeline led to an unplanned shut down in New Zealand's largest gas field. It led to downstream effects on manufacturing production, adding to some drag from the planned shut down at the Marsden Point oil refinery. Looking ahead, Ms Turner was concerned growth might have lost momentum in the three months ended September. Negative business sentiment posed a threat to economic growth being sustained at current rates in the coming year. Taking recent business confidence readings at face value, in particular business investment and employment intentions, growth could be much weaker than forecast. <ends> https://www.odt.co.nz/business/economy-performance-cracker

the expected rain meant for Dunedin today threatened! but hasn't/didn't arrive... looking at the 3 day rain radar it looks like the next southerly rain belt will be arriving Sunday! ps. Lol! you are reminding me of the late great Mr Eales! he had set a horse for a Woodville meeting and it needed a hard and fast track! (he had moved to Awapuni by this time), the jockey he had on for the ride was based in Woodville! the first phone call came in at 3am!!! "please go outside and see what the weather looking like! ", then the jock got another call every 30 minutes for the next 4 hours! Noel was very strong on certain horses for certain courses on certain conditions! happy to report the horse did the right thing and won! ?

over the years I found the more they water the less I have bet...
-
Isn't this the track where they sometime water the outside of the track but not down by the rail?????
-
made even worse by the rail being so far out! a long long way to be coming around the outside! ?
-
The big thing that gets me is how they when about it!!! Knowing the alienation that must flow from their approach! Or was that part of there big picture plan! Did they have knowledge of the 'harness problems' that were about to Burst Asunder! About the 'intellectual rigor' of the report! that just be par for the course for this Industry! Propaganda Rule$!! In the short term bringing brutal criticism on this to attention of key DIA players I think is very important! Giving them some bullets needed for any fightback!
-
I'm quite sure that the DO KNOW that there is a lot of opposition to the M Report. So far! the most important point is "foretold is forewarned'. ? I'm sure that you are not alone in the process that you have gone through! Hurt! Anger! Resignation! But will you actually be able to walk away!!! ? I have learned from fighting many political battles that focusing of "what are the facts?" "what is just propaganda?" is always a good place to start! Also "who is there with you?"" who might be a fare weather friend?" "who can not be trusted!" "who needs to be defeated!!!" "what can be won?" "what can be traded/lost?" What skills are to be found in the wider group that needs to be involved in any fight back??? Legal? Media? Research? etc.... Does a fighting fund need to be worked towards? One thing I have learned about the Racing Industry is most members tend to be on the Conservative side! Meaning, more than likely it might be a struggle to get them organized! Or Is All Lost!!! turn over and take it up the chutney!!!! ?
-
over the years I have used OIA with them! and have been impressed by some of the results!

Like the truth about Social Class in modern NZ https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=12122733 ...and so many rather struggle to understand why Racing is in the doldrums... Its all about Wealth! who has it! who doesn't! be it Economic Capital! Cultural Capital! or Social Capital!
-
you can't deal with the truth!!!

I've found when he looks keen in his prelim he goes good!

On a personal level I was pondering whether too... am still undecided! Still thinking through a couple of different approaches?? One being to challenge the 'facts and figures' quoted?? The other, something from a 'punters point of view'. -
under the last lot... borrow to give tax relief to those who have most... and all the tory dickheads on hear struggle to understand why racing is rooted here in nz…
-
Any truth that other than the young colt jonnyA all the others are 'aged geldings' ?
