Hi Fred. well done for doing what you do you are obviously a kind caring man. just please don't judge all greyhound trainers based on soulless scum bags like this woman. I have many broken toasters at home all well loved. I have taken in many lost causes and turned them into confident loving dogs some have raced and some haven't but I would never put a healthy dog to sleep or even one with temperament issues cos there are plenty of humans with those as well. The dogs love to race and if they don't they should be on.a couch somewhere. I hate some of the aspects of the sport but I love working with.the dogs and seeing them grow as individuals and I love the challenge of being on occasion able to beat the big names of the sport all I ask is you don't chuck us all.in the same basket as some of us would do anything for our dogs. take care

She does look like a hard piece but at the time the rumour was it was blown out of proportion. can't say cos I wasn't there.but I do remember when I first got into dogs seeing one well known figure around Addington kick shit out of his dog to get it into the boxes. it horrified me but didn't horrify anyone else around. couldn't agree with you more. although there is the odd occasion when it is too badly broken into many pieces and it can't be saved. but most end up in the plastic bag and chucked in a hole when they could easilly be rehabilitated. I have 3 at home that have hocks pinned. sound and happy as. they weren't champions in the sense of the word but they are champions to me.On the rare occasions I hear of a battler dog being saved the connections go in my book as decent people. it is unfortunately a vety small book.

just like with humans not all dogs are natural athletes. like us a lot do not have the mental toughness that is required to be competitive. someone gave me a wee Bitch to try and get chasing.. I knew within a couple of days that although she had speed she would never want to chase anything and the lovely wee Bitch is happy and healthy at my place just running for the sheer pleasure of it. you are right aquaman the mongrels are the connections.

surely they would have done an autopsy on this dog. it must been.seen as out of the ordinary for a such a young dog to drop dead in such a manner. Suspected heart attack covers a whole heap of ground and a lot of substances COULD cause such a sudden demise. Surely that would need to be ruled out by the authorities.

At least he had a go. Just didn't work out on the night not the first time a favorite has had an off night... for whatever reason and won't be the last. The false start would not have done him any favours as he can get on the bit at times. He'll be back.

Really. Why should they.have to. If they were doing their job properly they.would make sure they knew what was going on with issues such as this. Run a report dogs under 18 months old and numbers of starts etc and check.up on.them. not hard ...unless the trainer is J McInerney.then they would be too scared to ask any questions or visit the property cos he would tell them to Fuck off in no uncertain terms ..and get away with it.
