  1. EQUINOX wins the first at Trentham and the Presenters start frothing at the mouth about it. Look at the facts PURCHASE PRICE $750,000.00 GST $112,500.00 INSURANCE 3% (TOTAL PURRCHASE PRICE) $25,875.00 GST $3881.25.00 KARAKA MILLIONS ENTRY $ 2,500.00 GST $375.00 BREAKING IN (APPROX) $ 5,000.00 GST $675.00 TRAINING COST (APPROX 3 MONTHS) $10,000.00 GST $1,150.00 FLOAT TO TRENTHAM $ 750.00 GST $ 112.50 TOTAL $794,125.00 GST $118,693.75 And you win a race at Trentham for $10,000.00 winner gets $6250.00 less Trainer, Jockey % $937.50 =$5312.50 Who is winning at this stage ? ps Training , breaking-in an estimate
  2. Wasn't that horse ridden by a senior North Island jockey...……….
  3. Has anyone seen the PHOTO FINISH for the Telegraph. Melbourne Racing has it up on the screen in 30 seconds !!!!
  4. John writes in this weeks Informant and then on Trackside TV how good the new system is going. "52,000 customers placed 3.25 million bets" Not sure if you realise John, numbers you are quoting are not worth the paper or the air time given you. Bottom Line is the "BETTING TURNOVER" and the figures from those in the know is that the last week have been a disaster. So John come on here and relase your turnover figures......STOP THE BS
  5. So the stipes ask Jockeys if it made a difference. These are the ones that didn’t know that they were in the wrong gates and would lose riding percentages if race is canned...... joke. RIU and JCA again proven to be a joke. Race should have cancelled and all bets refunded.
  6. Tried to take a Multi in the first few races at Reefton…...would not accept my bet. Having problems with Fixed Odds first 4 races. Thank GOD I had another option via Australia
  7. He is a poor caller who needs to mention the above to get by. Enjoy Auckland Trots but watch with mute button on. Only way to enjoy. Arron if you have time go back and listen to our good callers over the years...... listen and learn.
  8. Did anyone else in the world notice that Trudy's arm went above shoulder high...........NO The stipes are a joke and will continue to be.
  9. 6.00pm Sunday night the TAB closes to relaunch their new 50+million dollar platform for NZ ONLY punters. When will John Allen come out and tell us the true cost to date and what the on going yearly cost will be. If you have got use to easy betting FF numbers that flow from race to race get ready for a disaster. Life is going to get hard if you enjoy multi's at the same meeting As John Allen has put the future of the TAB into this will he resign if it fails
  10. Predictions for 2019 1 Messara Report still in limbo 2 Race Fixing charges still not in front of Court maybe 2020 3 Te Akau Shark gets arse kicked in Sydney 4 No race meetings cancelled 5 Jamie Richards replaced as Trainer at Te Akau A bit tongue in cheek !!!!
  11. Synthetic tracks will not get Owners investing or reinvesting in this Industry. Stake money increase will.
  12. I presume that Tim read your comments here so It's good to know that Tim reads this site. Maybe, just maybe he will read the comments here that he is way passed his use by date. He unfortunately does not have the qualifications to take this Club into the future
  13. Pam how dare you think that Trainers and Jockeys are important in the decision making at the CJC. In Tim and his Board you are 2nd class citizens who do not deserve an input into your future. Sh*t I forgot, the CEO is an expert at everything
  14. The CJC are racing tomorrow with the rail out 11 metres. With their next meeting over 7 weeks away why is the rail out so far ? Because of this, the field sizes are limited and they have 30 horses balloted out. That Owners, Trainers and Jockeys missing out on a chance of income. No worries Tim, Owners are not important.
  15. Pam I thought you were an intelligent person !!!!! Tim would have known the trials were on and by having this at the same time would ensure that no one could question his decision making. I've been told he HATES anyone having an opinion different from his.
  16. I'm told that you read this site so if possible can you assist me. I have grave concerns for Racing in NZ As you are the CEO of the NZRB which funds racing in NZ are you able to put me at ease..... Having raced horses for over 40 + years I have a feeling that Racing is in danger of being financially "screwed" Over the last couple of years you have borrowed millions to fund Stake money for the 3 codes. From my understanding this was to be funded with increase turnover from new avenues...ie Race Fields Legislation and the new Fixed Odds Platform. Race Fields was going to bring in a million plus per month, fixed odds platform has cost 40+ million and has yet to produce a single dollar and has been put back further and due to incompetence from you and your staff Australians can no longer bet with the NZTAB. Your weekly Turnover figures used to show comparisons from the previous years. You stopped this earlier this year which told me that they were to bad to publish. The pages would now be showing Red Red Red numbers. If turnover for both sport and racing continue their downward spiral do you think that, not only will you be unable to continue current payments to Codes that any debt repayment may be unable to be met. I hope that you can tell us the true figure of debt and when it needs to be repaid, the true cost of your new Fixed Odds Platform to date and the on going cost per year, the new date you "hope" to launch and the odds you are giving for this to happen, the true loss of turnover from not meeting with the Australian Government and ensuring that NZ was not part of their new Act restricting overseas betting agencies, the true betting comparisons year on year. As an owner I am only concerned with your turnover, cost of operating and end of year profit so please stop waffling on about how many new customers you have, how many tickets you have sold, how many have accessed your mobile website....... these means nothing. I look forward to your reply and thank you in advance.
  17. Freda let’s hope your place is “first cab of the rank” so we don’t have to put up with the shit they served up last week. Premier Race Day and everyone wants to stay away from the fence is not good enough. First job take the control of irrigation away.
  18. So Timmy gets on NewstalkZB this morning and reminds people that the Public Grandstand will not be in use. Sadly Timmy the handful who listen at that time on that station, are about your age and can't get a pass from the retirement village to get to the races today. The day will be interesting. Would not want to be the staff in the Office today !!!! Where will Tim be hiding ?
  19. Had a friend who over heard a couple going off about the facilities available today. Wanted refunds for tickets purchased for Sat and they were not alone. Tim you have let down the public by not being proactive re Grandstand and viewing area’s Your mates will be happy in the Members Stand. Enjoy Saturday as many won’t. With luck this will be your last Cup day as CEO
  20. In a way I hope that they have an average day as it may be enough for the BOARD to finally realise that it is time to replace the CEO with someone with Qualifications and Expertise to bring it into the 21st Century. For racing in Canterbury and the South Island to progress it is TIME FOR CHANGE
  21. Spoke to some people tonight who pre purchased Tickets and had no knowledge of Grandstand closed. Loved watching from top of Public Grandstand. Will be ringing Club in the morning asking what is being done for patrons re protection from weather. If they can't get an answer maybe looking for a refund,
  22. Must have got a phone call from a leading stable and told to water the track. As 10mils applied this afternoon. WHY WHY WHY What is wring with a Good 3 track.
  23. Just back from races. You could have counted the patrons at times. Why do Canterbury people not support CJC ? Let’s hope they turn up next week but without a Public Grandstand how many can they handle. Got the tip for Dee and Gee but new better ?
  24. Arrived into Christchurch yesterday and are they having races today. No marketing, advertising to be seen for todays race meeting except a Trailer sign near Racecourse. Having enjoyed a couple of days in Melbourne ......its back to normal......Racing run by "out of date, old fashioned" Racing Administration Lets hope things build during the week.
  25. No mention of mowing the long grass the afternoon before the races and having grass clippings on top of a hard surface.
