I see a few snide remarks about some on here, that still entered comp on rc last weekend. Scooby mentions his Premier Site name all the time, must be worried. Then thanking his loyal followers, sounds a bit like Destiny church On a serious note, and I am being serious, is P4P ok? Been a few rumours all is not well, and not like him to be so quiet.

Quite a few alright, there one minute, gone the next. Not much you could do, even if you had enough, and posted you were leaving, post would get pulled, so others just thought you were not posting.

$200 each for food & drink Richie, that’s quite a bit .I think one year early on a few of us did it, about half that price. Your right, miss the stand, and probably need marques. Why don’t Addington rebuild the stand, even a portion of it? If they did it right, they could even rent out space below. Miss that stand,

If you look at the senior trainers over the years, wolfie, d Jones, Grant etc, they were still at the top of their game when they retired. Now, it seems many younger trainers dominate, and the older types get left behind a bit, purdons exception of course. Could be many things, lack of quality horses, food, supplements, training methods etc.

I’ve never had much luck with early pre post betting. I tend to lose out on the draw luck, then do my dough.

Trainers were trying different training styles around this time. Some of the above older type trainers always started first race of season, while Armalight & Bonnies started later. Now nobody would give horse hard run 3 months before cup, used to suit hands down.

I suppose back then, had Easter racing at Addington, then nothing of note till August, which made that month something to look forward to. Never missed these meetings, was always an excited buzz around course. Loved the old windows, thinking you were a big punter at the $10 window, while a big queue formed at $1 window, then a guy beside you flashes notes at the $50 window!

Where did some of these drivers / trainers go? Some might have retired, but anyone know where others went. P Rosewarne, S Little, M Rennie, R Petrie, L Blackmore, B O'Carroll, M V Gillum, P Van Der Looy. Would like to know where many others have gone also.

As I was driving around today listening to trackside radio, I heard commentator say after R2 that Guess Who was gonna win until it fell? I actually backed it, but I can’t seem to view video on nztr. Can anyone fill me in, I suppose reason video not available tells me race didn’t end well.

Have had a look at first few races, R1- She Reigns up against Tickle Me Pink. Picking She Reigns to win, was slushy track last start, good win start before, fav might be a run short. R2-Bubbles O’Leary been going well at trials, don’t think he was pushed too hard. Fresh stats good against better fields. R3-Sly Eleanor, big run last start when 2nd behind stakes placed Caitlin Clarke. Should get good run. R8- Royal Lincoln, easier here. Good luck all

Seems TAB have put up white flag on nz racing. They make more off sorts betting, so why try and compete with overseas operators. They had a monopoly for so long in nz, sadly nothing left.

Strange thing about it all, I couldn’t even remember post that I was supposed to have liked, he didn’t know either!! Maybe it was because he did his deleting posts trick ?

That’s very disappointing for everyone in PJs comps. It was one area that everyone kept to themselves, never a hint of trouble, so very sad he has done it. But not surprising, he has a very nasty streak in him. See reply a while back, asking him why I was being monitored. I nearly fell over with his response, I quit a few days after, enough is enough.

Flying Monkee was Ray Jenkins other starter that day. Galloped late first start when looking likely, since raced on all weather. Back to grass, I think he can win, will keep an eye out. Wouldn’t surprise me if it turns out better than stablemate Globe Trekker, which has won twice. Big call I know,

Used to love going to Addington in the 80s. Up in the main grandstand on a Saturday night, nothing was better. Hands Down & Sir Castleton my favs from this era.

Those great callers really made nz racing years ago. Not much live on tv, can remember listening to radio racing show with haub &co.

With so many punters betting overseas, how can nz racing improve stakes? I thought they were stopping punters betting overseas, or was this too hard.
