definitely the "Elsu" man and of course AGH and Nat over the years are in the World's best. Aussie drivers are quite poor in comparison hahahaha. I Love Vinnie, but poor drives were common really lol.
-
Blair is in top 5% of drivers in the World, along with MarkP, Dextor and AnthonyB. Importance to winning a big race ? 5%minimal. But congrats on the NZ Cup success to him, albeit Lucky that Mark drove Spankem.
-
In Australia , the answer is two-fold with main winning formula being Have big spending owners and 'Buy the Already racing' NEW ZEALAND standardbreds. In both countries the Importance of having owner backing is Paramount (Brodie knows this)) I rate the ratio of importance to get results as 75% owner, 20% Trainer, 5% driver. No Stock = No Wins. Our great horseman Vin Knight didn't win an Interdominion driving for 10 straight attempts.A couple of stable staff did. He had owners buying from NZ and Tas for big results. In very recent times Mark has a FANTASTIC, TOP level bunch of owners supplying the stock. No surprise are the Great Results. In Menangle The McCarthy Clan are winning many lately (kiwi Craig Cross listed as trainer so that Luke can do catch driving when required) West Australia has just had it's 2 big races. The Fremantle Cup recently won by CAVIAR STAR picked up 200k sold to Aus (Hall Stable) after winning Manawatu 2018. you already know of all their success with 'I'm TheMightyQuinn' from NZ. The West Australia Cup (450k) was won by the Greg Bond stable. they ran 6 of the first 7 placings !!!!!!! Better than ALLSTARS and no cheating accusations either. All kiwi bred horses purchased while racing in New ZEALAND. Mighty Conqueror 2018, Vampiro 2017, Our Jimmy Johnstone 2014, Galactic Star 2016, Our Alfie Romeo 2018, El Jacko 2015, Anna Malak 2018. The date is year of purchase from New Zealand. When two of these stables combined recently (Hall +McCarthy) with KING OF SWING (another NZer from Ray Greens 2017) that proved UNSTOPPABLE in the Hunter Cup last week. Too much for ALLSTARS to beat even. In SUMMARY , Having Stock WIns BIG Races, Trainers help them keep fit and feel good, KIWI Breds Are the BEST !!! Add a couple of zeroes on to your horse price when the Aussies come knocking again shortly. They'll be back after All this success. Nothing left there for Mark to beat.? No wonder he wins everything.

great to see AG Whitesocks get that big win for sure. Chase Auckland bit unlucky as the Supremo Master Driver Mark only drove the once recently, for a big win at Cambridge. Mark with 30 wins from 60 odd drives this season. Rest of the time Tim Williams drove who has 30 wins from 300 odd drives this season. Not quite as sharp as the Master Driver. but did win the Group1 NZ FFA with Chase Auckland in Nov, so not too bad.
-
Yeah, doubt they were shaking Greg Hopes hand after the Ballarat Cup, even though a fellow kiwi beating them (Whitesocks). 'Blossom Lady' was pissed off as well as thinks Nat could of won that without the piss-poor drive with Chase Auckland. But hang Tough there Hunter, Self Assured who ran second there, will be winning again soon at Menangle, maybe even Miracle Mile to make you all smile again. Go kiwi's

You are actually quite correct here Blossom. I did already confess to being Ignorant about the staff stories and Heaven Rocks that you mentioned. Can't help you with any of that. I am disturbed myself (not scared to say it like you, but at least you sound more jovial today, with the hahagoodone comment,) because you seem disturbed or should I say Upset?? through your assessments . Apologies if I can't find the exact word you would like. What I have been trying to spell out to your good self and Brodie and others is this................................. NOT ALL Stables Use the same training methods and lets go with 'Supplements' . If it's not illegal , you can use it. Simple. You are Not being Ignorant to the fact that the performances by ALLSTARS are incredible , but you are being ignorant to the fact that ALLSTARS do not have to run up the road and give all their 'Training methods and Supplements" to everybody else. McCarthy's are absolutely flying with Wrangler, Cash and Flow etc at Menangle at present. Incredible performances as well. They are not going to tell the opponents what they are using / doing /training to make your Level Playing Field , that you crave. If any of the stuff these 'mobs' are doing is Illegal, they will get caught
-
Brodie you are a smart man, Did you see I agree with your 'perceived Race-Fix' summary 100%. Well written mate. Big Paying owners Are a major contributor to any stables success, AND you know it. This thread was about the ALLSTARs failing in Aus (which is just poor opinion discussed earlier ) more so than NZ recently but if you say they are disappointing you over there at the moment, I have to believe you. And I know it. If it's NOT illegal , you CAN use it . Whatever IT may be. and you know it. Personally I hate those nose ugly white nasal Patches, and notice the Dunn's (are they 2nd best there) copying trying to stay in touch. Should be banned like on thoroughbreds. Blair might'en want to give up their secrets mate? He is their friend.

Thank you Hunter for bringing the 'Police Raid Stables' page up to the front. That answered my question to you of 'what is Inca?. Very interesting reading about race Fixing. The answer is 'it needs Proof from betting activity' The ongoing Queensland case with Shane Graham involved a disqualified horseman who had $3000 on the winner. Now after reading your article on Inca , I think, as a former race driver, this is the most accurate post of all from BRODIE that I saw. 100% Agree with Brodie here Quote:- , however if it is just people discussing driving tactics, this would hardly constitute race fixing, as this has been going on since racing probably started and drivers even discuss this on Trackside prior to races. Some of you will be well aware of what has been said, but from what I have heard, whether it be right or wrong, nothing like race fixing at all. Most of the drivers know each other pretty well and would often discuss things prior to a race. Are you saying that the drivers for a stable that has 4 or 5 runners in a big race never discuss things prior to the race??? Of course they do

While munching breakfast, have been reflecting on your Post here Blossom. I can see you are privy to, and/or been exposed to much more than meets the eye from your earlier Posts. The bitter vitriol you have against ALLSTARS is deep-seated generated from this 'Inner Sanctum' stuff I know nothing about. I was quite happy to Debate through your silly personal insults , at your thoughts on Racetrack Perfomance of ALLSTARS and Mark and Nat's driving ability , which is there in all it's Glory, for us all to see. Stuff I know about and can comment on. This other stuff has left you very disturbed (possibly understandably) so a no win situation for anyone. So we will leave it at that. Cheers

Unfortunately I don't know the answer to Shez All rock. Had 3 starts 2018 for 3 wins for Mark is all I can see. Am sorry if staff and 'Heaven Rocks' have horrific stories as well but obviously am out of touch with that , but doesn't sound good?
-
Your understanding of treating horses and penalties for such is out of touch . You are trying to charge on assumption ALLSTARS, by way of what you think their horses should be doing , what they do, and then grizzle when they are beaten like Chase Auckland and The Fixer. Do you want them to win or not ? Innocent until Proven Guilty Blossom . Where is your evidence?. Those that are caught with steroids, supplements do their time and come back in and are re-licensed and away they go again, Hasn't that happened in NZ ? You are right in that quite a few in Aus have done time several times e.g Webberley in Tas, Alan Donahue in QLD , they have had much success in the inbetween times with a great array of horses and wins over the years, but keeping your horse feeling good is a risky business if you don't get the balance right. Go away with your injecting self accusations, as have never injected self and know of no-one actually that has ever. More Blossom crude assumptions/ accusations? Do you actually like Harness Racing ? Answer honestly.
-
If you are talking Australia or NZ maybe you can tell me what Inca is. I'm not sure. Country Victoria has many trainers/ drivers out , Nathan Jack a leading driver currently out . Mark Pitt also tied up with that one. He trained Shez All Rock to a group one win and then it went to Mark over there and won some big ones . Top filly. !! Our leading driver Shane Graham still out with race fix charge, Leading trainer Daryll Graham was running 2nd to Grant Dixon but now out with Cobalt. Real problems in the galloping scene is that cobalt over here. Do they have it there?
-
This answer is very easy Blossom . 1. You must agree that with Millionaire backing you end up with the Best Racing Stock. Try Godolphin as an example on a larger scale on the racing scene, than say Grant here in Queensland Harness. 2. The opposition has fallen away somewhat in recent years in NZ . Barry still wins in the north a few big ones Belle of Montana, etc. What are your accusations there? or are you just on an ALLSTARS bender?

Hi Blossom and NZ , when I left NZ in the 80's the Purdons were top of the tree. This photo from the year I left. Brosnan and Stormonts were both back on 40 winners. 100 season wins was unbelievable!!!. We were amazed and in AWE at their wonderful success then and right up to now. 35 years later nothing has changed.

What a great Messenger win to Placid Victor. 7 years before that The very first night I ever went to trots was Messenger Night 1978 and LOCARNO won brilliantly .I was hooked for life after that. Chestnut Champion Locarno went on to get an Interdominion 2nd and a miracle Mile.
-
Would be nice if they did run on fresh air , but to be at the top of the tree in any sport does take helping aids of all sorts , just ask the European Professional Cyclists.
-
Thank you Chief, much apologies to connections of Placid Victor.
-
Well you should stick to INNOCENT until proven GUILTY in life as a general rule Mr Brodie. Why aren't you picking on us cheating Aussies who were caught in NZ? .Smoken Up and Junior's Image both winning Interdominions in New Zealand then disqualified for positive swabs . bona fide cheats. As was the Wolfenden Clan with Placid Victor disqualified from 2nd in Interdominion final for a positive there. Beaten by an Aussie raider while full of cocktail, that is poor as didn't even take the day of glory. never mind.
-
Yes it is a not unknown thing to have a little 'Pick-me-up' from the Very best Barns to the poorest owner Trainer backyarder. Would be very few that don't get something, maybe Stewart Island? and If Not, Why Not?
-
Well that was my funny answer. Sorry it didn't work. Are you talking 'Adore Me' ? She was a powerful animal with a bum like Black Caviar, also NZ cups and 1.48 miles. Very manly !!!!???
-
Maybe their Testosterone levels are UP from the EXCITEMENT of reading the great supportive posts on here. hahahaha

Blossom and I were discussing somewhere in this thread the drive on Chase Auckland for 3rd in Ballarat Cup. Blossom is of the opinion that Nat 'froze' with a Cold Drive (it wasn't me) but I thought differently. I thought a very good drive and would of won 20m further on.
-
Yes and their Natural Ability is quite high isn't it ? I think 'the fiver' is The Fixer in disguise , obviously these races lately too short for him, go another lap and he comes into play. You are fighting yourself Blossom accusing 'Chase Auckland' as being the most over-rated ALLSTARS runner in the barn, yet it runs 3rd in a 500k feature race last Sat in Hunter Cup, he wins your Group one NZ FFA , That Cambridge Mile there as well, well that is sensational then !!! What a fantastic effort (if he is so over-rated?) Wouldn't mind racing him at all. Well done Chase Auckland . Your BIG question is accusations of drug cheating ??? Don't they swab them at Auckland as well as Victoria ?? I lost count of the Group 1 wins in December at Auckland (and the Addington NZ Cup carnival) Where are your positive swabs then ? Or are you just hoping and not enjoying the racing as you should be ? I have an interesting theory on why so many ALLSTARS break down. Champion Trainer/Driver Vin Knight had the same problems. Talk about that another time.
-
Thank you for bothering to reply Blossom . This is a forum and that's the name of the game. Not sure why my English bothers you so much? BTW. Colt Thirty One should be capital's in your post lol. (just kidding ) Hell yeah, plenty of Cheats over here, the list is very long. Weir didn't help the racing caper much at all either , Mood's is coming back in training soon too. Hope you are faring better in NZ with the cheats ? What is Inca anyway??? Colt Thirty One not TOO bad , 3/4 mil prizes, Vic Derby beating 2 of Marks, and won the Christmas Cup recently. Not Bad really? You are definitely right as just like Allstars, Grant Dixon having the millionaire Backing s gives you 'Lots of Stock" to work with. Great !!! Talk about Chase Auckland on the other thread where you said it is over-rated , so the Cold Drive was warranted then ? Pretty good effort to run 3rd with an over-rated horse. Top Drive 10/10 from me.

Dead right Blossom, I was only a horseman last century, but still enjoy Australian (and New Zealand) harness racing This century too. Something you should try one day. Is better than hate, jealousy spite or sarcasm. As for My Field Marshall , well after his heart malfunction? hope that term works for you , he has bounced back into the winners circle last Saturday night at Menangle !!!! well done to him , I must of bought him luck giving him a discredit serve on here hahahaha
