I'm done here as well. The events of the past day or so have revealed an awful lot and I can't support a site that tolerates all sorts of shit stirring in the name of free speech, then turns around and treats one of its most loyal and passionate members like a piece of crap. I'll finish by saying that just because you include the words "I apologise" in a post that contains a blatant lie, a series of howevers and buts and all sorts of obfuscation, that doesn't make it an apology. Read it again Chief and then tell us with a straight face that you apologised to TC. Good luck with your site going forward!

TC has asked me to make a few things clear from his perspective and then leave it at that: You say: "You didn't accuse The Crucible of altering someone's picks" That is not the truth - TC has shown me the message that you sent to him - you clearly accuse him of rewriting someone's picks. As TC suggested, you wouldn't have reacted this way if you'd known what was actually edited. You chose to believe what others told you and now you appear unable to admit that. You say: "Altered appears to be an understatement as it was completely rewritten I gather." How can you gather that it was completely rewritten? TC has told you quite clearly what he altered - it was one very minor detail. Do you not believe him? Why don't you check with the guy who wrote the post originally (Howie)? I was also given Moderation rights but like TC I didn't ask for them. I no longer have any need for them so please take them away from me as well.

TC runs (or ran) comps on here alone - he doesn't run comps on either of the other two sites (in fact he doesn't subscribe to either of the other sites). Probably not unreasonable to expect a little more from the guy whose site he has exclusively supported from the outset. Personally I think you made a mountain out of a molehill re TC editing Howie's post, but TC apologised and so we move on. I wouldn't be too precious about the someone thing - he referred to himself as "someone' in that same sentence - we're all just someone I guess.

Nice one Gee - you spell "perform" the way Popplewell pronounces it. Between Popplewell and Bromley, the English language may never be the same.

You starting up your own comp Yorkie? Bit like Sheriff Bart and his family having to form their own wagon circle. I hope there is a nice prize on offer - would hate for you to have to play just for the fun of it

Listen to his commentary of the last at Tauranga yesterday. If you listen right to the end of the call his comments re 3rd and 4th would suggest he either read this thread or was at least aware of the Not Usual Heaven slip. The 3rd horse in the last at Tauranga was 1.5 lengths ahead of the 4th horse.

Just saw a very nice horse (Voyage Warrior) win at Sha Tin. Not the strongest field and that outside draw down the 1000m straight is a big help, but won effortlessly (Teetan sat up the last 100m or so) and ran under 57 seconds. One to follow!

Is there some functionality on here that auto finds & replaces Rac3place with Channel 3?
-
- Shiarna Johnson rode her first winner (from her second race ride) - Blair Orange drove his 100th winner for the season but my favourite of them all: - Chris Dell rode his first winner for the season from more than 100 rides. That is some strike-rate
-
Yes just watched the replays and it looks like the entire order was back to front. The winner was supposed to be drawn 1 and started from the outside. I'm guessing the barriers have the numbers on the back set up for left handed racing and nobody, including the jockeys, was smart enough to figure out that they have to reverse the order for right hand racing.
-
Yes good point. I backed the horse that was supposedly drawn barrier 8 and couldn't spot its colours when they jumped. For some reason it started from barrier 1 or 2. You'd think the jockey might have thought something was amiss!? Perhaps he just didn't want to look a gift horse in the mouth. Was it because they forgot they were racing right handed?

Yeah I saw that, but the owner is not something I factor in to my betting decisions - perhaps I should have on this occasion Commanding Prince drifted out to a respectable $2.20 ($2 on FF). I can see why the jockey of Keilib only rides a winner every 20-25 rides.
-
I couldn't have Kellib - has won only 4 from 38 starts, hasn't run for a month, hasn't finished within 3.5 lengths of the winner in the past year (8 runs), jockey wins one in around 20-25 starts, track probably too firm. Commanding Prince should win - impatient ride last time and gets a big jockey upgrade today and 3rd run back from a spell. I'd take $2 but maybe not $1.80. My bet for the day is in the first - H2H Cameo paying $2.13 to finish ahead of Akela Belle. Cameo didn't get any favours last start - lost ground and momentum coming up to the home turn and then no room in the straight.

Was looking for the Ellerslie final field odds. If you click on Fixed Odds Final Field/NZ racing and then click on the Ellerslie races that are listed, you end up on a Newcastle Harness racing meeting that was run on 26 October Wingatui seems to work ok

Brilliant bit of insight from one of the presenters on Trackside today after they showed the replay of yesterday's Cox Plate. "Winx became the first horse ever to win four Cox Plates, especially the first seven year old mare to do it". Lucky we have these people.
-
Poor Jochen Rindt got "Tedded" last week - he tipped it out on social media before the event. His tips generally go much better when he tells people after the event.

Certainly have Hesi. Bring back the three Rs - reading, writing and (especially) arithmetic.

They looked pretty comfortable this morning. Well organised at the back and Pickford is playing well. Croatia will have tired legs in the semi after two two hour plus matches in a row. Mandzukic looked like he was 52, not 32. Keeper will probably be lame in his box the morning after.
-
Had a wager on Belgium to make the semis so happy with this morning's result. Went down to TAB to collect and have a wager on the horses today, only to find not paying yet. I think I know why this will be the case - because they can't partially result that option - still two quarter finals to play. How poor is that?
-
Hesi, it's not just the normal scratchings in that All In Vogue race that impact the multi dividend. It's the normal scratchings in all 5 legs to the extent they were still in the market when the bet was placed. My experience is that the TAB get this stuff right 99.99% of the time - and no I don't work for them.
-
What time did you put the bet on? Could it have been before the markets reflected some of the regular scratchings (not just the late scratching)?

Saw a very nice 2yo Smart Missile filly win at Canterbury Park in Sydney today - Smart Melody - looked very very good!!

Can't wait Steve!! Loses a little bit of its appeal without my beloved Dutch team there, but still a fantastic event. I agree re Argentina - that's quite a line-up they have there and if Messi wants to be remembered as one of the immortals, a World Cup might help. One downside is the history of South American teams in European World Cups. I'm picking Denmark might upset France in that group - its actually quite a strong group with Peru a very good side and even the Ockers playing quite well in the warmups. I also think Croatia a bit of a dark horse. Bring it on!

Yep poor guy got fed some lies by Scooby and chose to believe them. As you say all good now - he's happy where he is and I'm happy over here.
