  1. Haven't heard any feedback but looks like it raced pretty nicely.
  2. haha ...sure is
  3. Turny, you are evidently obsessed with the Coroner's Act as an excuse for the RIB inaction. On that other site that you post on there used to be a rule that if you say it, you must be able to prove it. That has gone by the wayside of late and now whether you are allowed to say it or not is more at the whim of the moderator. I don't think that rule applies here. Nevertheless, given your expertise in interpreting legislation, would you please point us to the relevant section of an Act that is preventing or delaying the RIB from discharging their duties with respect to this inquiry so the rest of us can understand. Your two attempts at that to date are clearly wrong. Otherwise, can you come up with some other more viable excuse for their inaction?
  4. I agree with the second part of your post that if the delay in the RIB concluding their inquiry is due to that being precluded by other investigations then I see no reason why they can't say so in a brief public statement. I don't see any reason why that should be so though or why the race day inquiry can't be concluded under the rules of racing. That is simply about whether or not there were any breaches of those rules. Those inquiries are usually concluded on the day and if not, because of the unavailability of parties they may want evidence from, within a week or two. This is ridiculous.
  5. So, you have no evidence to support your claims? Btw, there is NO coroner's inquiry on this matter.
  6. I'd suggest that you either re-train or refrain from further attempts at that interpretation.
  7. s139 also has absolutely nothing to do with the RIB or this case. It applies only to self-inflicted deaths which this clearly was not. Do you just make this stuff up as you go along to suit your agenda?
  8. .
  9. Since when and by whom?
  10. I'm not actually clear why this case would even be referred to the coroner. It's not like there is any question as to the cause of death.
  11. Correct. s74 applies to the Coroner (only) when they conduct an inquest and prevents them making public any evidence gathered during the course of that inquiry. It has nothing whatsoever to do with the RIB or any evidence they may have gathered in the course of their own inquiry.
  12. I don't think moderation is necessarily censorship. However, it is if it is used to prevent posters posting on topics which the moderator has unilaterally decided can't be talked about at that media outlet. But who knows what goes on behind closed doors? I wonder what might have happened had the controversial topic been raised for discussion here.
  13. Yes. My error. Thanks for the correction. There are two official languages in Aotearoa New Zealand – Māori and New Zealand Sign Language. These were established by the Māori Language Act 1987 and the New Zealand Sign Language Act 2006
  14. Yep. Got the first horse I trained from him. Top bloke and very good horseman. Had wondered where he was.
  15. What is Te Kāpehu Whētu then?
  16. I might add that te reo Maōri is not a secondary language. It is an official language of New Zealand as is English (and New Zealand Sign Language). At least equal statutorily and if anything primary given its widespread use preceded English here.
  17. When it comes to language, yes it does. Those who speak and are the kaitiaki of the language are surely the authorities on its use.
  18. I completely disagree. Those attempting to and practising getting it right should be applauded not denigrated. Most Māori I know would agree with me.
  19. Really? I think if everyone stuck to saying what is natural rather than what is respectful, it would be a very unpleasant place to be.
  20. Oh true. I wonder where the 25 million increase will come from then given last season's profit was only 154 million?
  21. Interesting. Their July end of month report says full year distributions 175 million. Do you think he hasn't read that?
  22. And was back on horseback as recently as June this year.
  23. They'd be better to demolish that building and fix the public stand from a racing perspective. That and the embankment in front are now way the best viewing point for the new AWT as well and great sight of the birdcage too.
  24. Grass roots would be a good start. Not many of those left on most NZ courses.
