  1. So, you wouldn't be concerned if they had say a steel plate on one side and aluminium on the other? Or a worn plate on one side and new on the other?
  2. Be like driving up the mountain with chains on one side and a regular tyre on the other wouldn't it?
  3. Nothing from the stewards on that attempted movement into another horse's line either. Were they watching a different race or just in a hurry to get home?
  4. SUPPLEMENTARY Nothing to report
  5. I hardly see that this meets the "exceptional circumstances" criterion from what I can see. 613 A person must not start or attempt to start a horse in a Race or trial (including a jump-out, or test for certification purposes with a horse): ... (c) in plates having a sharp flange or sharp projection on the ground-bearing surface, or which are excessively worn or otherwise faulty or defective; or (d) unless fully shod with approved plates in accordance with the plating provisions of the approved gear list determined and published by NZTR in accordance with Rule 609, provided that in exceptional circumstances a Stipendiary Steward may permit a horse to run unshod or partly shod. There is nothing in the stipes report to the effect of that permission being considered or granted, nor on what grounds.
  6. Another one gone tomorrow? Meeting News Ruakaka Track Inspection 6am 06-01 Stewards will inspect the track at Ruakaka due to high winds at 6am on race morning 06-01. Update to follow on meeting news after inspection.
  7. What happens with Reefton now? Mon/Tues? Or scrapped altogether.
  8. Not if you take up, slow down and hold your line as you should.
  9. No. Not if it impedes another horse. Of course not.
  10. Yeahh. Looks like it just got off balance and momentarily lost its footing. Didn't seem anything to do with the track surface. See what they say.
  11. All strike rate stats are misleading unless they are done relative to the chance of the underlying individual runners. I ignore them completely. Useless information.
  12. Yeahh but it's not the average you have to beat.
  13. Best of luck. Hope you have a great day. Sorry we are not there to support you.
  14. Just don't see that. We've had off course betting for decades. If you want to get people on course, put on a concert or a 20/20 cricket match or something. As far as I can see people on course just create a nuisance to participants including the horses and gives those people other things to spend their money on than the wagering that funds racing.
  15. Go back a couple of decades and Waller did the same thing. Not for long though. More of an insurance policy I think and maybe a feeder for horses.
  16. Can't find either at the mo. Going to check down at the tie ups in case they are down there checking in with trainers and stable staff.
  17. And I note they have changed it to an R81 not a BM81 so you wouldn't have any 81+ horses in there for those conditions.
  18. Totally agree. We are moving back to North Canterbury next month. I could quietly race a couple, continue to be a nuisance, offer to help or bugger off and take up golf or something. The latter seems far the most attractive and most likely option.
  19. Try the Kumara Nuggets. 6 noms above R81 for 5k more than the Reefton race.
  20. As current in the online RPG.
  21. We've tried all that for decades.
  22. Not much point taking notice if someone changes it without telling anyone at some late stage. Totally fs me off and makes me want to retire the horses and do something else with my time and money.
  23. Well if you didn't know, no wonder neither I nor my trainer did but it's definitely now an R81 and we would have possibly run had we known that at least a day or 2 before noms, preferably a few weeks before when we were discussing that option. We really wanted to support your club if it fitted. 6 3:56 pm KEN GRAY MEMORIAL REEFTON CUP Rating 81 HCP 1400m - $25,000
  24. November Operational Performance Reported Profit for the month was $14.0m, which was $1.7m below Budget. Operating Expenses were $11.0m for the month, which was $0.4m above Budget. Year to Date Reported Profit is $47.6m, which was $7.4m below Budget. Year to Date Operating Expenses were $43.1m, which was $2.0m above budget.
  25. The reduced payout announcement is because they have been doing that for the last 6 months through October to the tune of $15m. More is likely if current performance continues (see below). I'm guessing another $10m cut before the end of the season.
