  1. Markets suggesting that is the plan which might mean he is doubtful for the MC?
  2. It appears they are just added to gross revenue from betting i.e. gross bets minus dividends + unpaid dividends.
  3. Yeahh, the wrong use of or type of machinery is a sure way to stuff sandslitting in one pass. The sports fields guys know this and seem to be able to make sandslitting work effectively for years. Straight knife tines, not too deep seems to be the go. Off course sandslitting is completely useless any way unless it leads down to good primary drainage. It's illogical over a clay hardpan with a few lateral drains interspersed in that and probably causes water to sit between the hardpan and the tpsoil destabilising the surface..
  4. Doe anyone have any detail about what is meant by rebuild cf. reconstruction cf. renovation? And would it not make more sense, instead of the cost of a synthetic and total rebuild at Riccarton and Awapuni, to rebuild with Strathayrs there and scrap the synthetics, and possibly do the reconstruction at Te Aroha as a full Strathayr rebuild and scrap the synthetic at Cambridge? There seems to be a lot of unnecessary duplication in the above plan (at great expense) and no sense of where the revenue to justify or sustain those tracks is going to subsequently come from.
  5. And that Ryan Moore will stay over after his ride in the Manikato to ride?
  6. I see Aiden O'B is considering running Rostropovich .... straight out of quarantine that day.
  7. Pretty sure it's been available since last year hasn't it and Warren Buffet just expanded his share holding a few months ago. Must think it's going to rise.
  8. Sound like you are hanging out for it ...one more year though.
  9. So what is your point?
  10. Might like him even a bit more now though preferred at the 33/1 last week.
  11. That was a gutsy win. I thought he was going to get run down but he wouldn't lie down. Augurs well for next month. And he had to do a bit early. Of the SH horses, I did think that was a pretty tidy run from the lightweight for 7th.
  12. I have a good friend and colleague living with cancer that has recently had to resign from her job and move back to Oz to get the care and treatment she needed. Fortunately she had that option. We raced a horse together a few years back and not a racing person but very much a horse person, she pretty much rescued that horse which we never won a race with, sorted some issues and then she looked after its future life and career once we retired her from racing. She was pretty much assigned to palliative care here and could not even get the diagnostic care that was appropriate here. She has that now and treatment underway that fingers crossed has the cancer on the run with a further back up treatment option if that does not continue.
  13. All I can say is that the process is a complete joke and if it proceeds on that basis, they'll get what they deserve. I'm having nothing more to do with it other than possibly an odd comment on here. Even P4P seems to have withdrawn.
  14. Like Thommo's Princess you mean?
  15. Mostly coal dust I think.
  16. It's definitely made Sunday brunch more exciting and anticipatory .... even when I have to wait till Monday presumably due to more extensive Princess repairs.
  17. Can you add that to the blue print Mardi?..three runs over a shorter distance and preferably a trial. Hadn't picked that up before as part of the plan. Insert other media
  18. Obviously has no clue about the wagering industry and just wants temporary higher stakes for syndication purposes. Not very helpful in my view and no revenue based rationale for his arguments.
  19. I can see that the remedial maths classes still aren't working.
  20. That would work but you'd still need the selections to be determined before the race.
  21. I think he's answered it numerous times barryb. You wait till it wins, even if that's several starts after the black type performance then you back it on the Sunday after it ran on the Saturday with 30% extra on if it had blinkers on first time. Quite a coup really.
  22. Yeahhh... sigh. Can they not grasp that more customers = more costs just the same as more betting products. Unless those customers are willing to lose more than the smaller group whether or not spread over more betting products or events there's no net revenue result, and so far there is not.
  23. You are not applying a critical aspect of the blue print. That is to wait until Sunday brunch to decide which of the 28 you backed on the previous Saturday. If you do, then you'll have results similar to Thommo, maybe better.
  24. Hmmm... https://nzracingboard.co.nz/content/nzrb-submission-messara-report-october-2018-0
  25. Good idea. I'm impressed that the lollipop was no longer when she got it back but not sure how she imagined that could have been a possibility. If she thinks that "any f'er who disagrees with her is a big liar...", then I suggest you try and teach her to take on board alternative opinions and facts and weigh them up before reaching her own conclusions. I realise though that since you are incapable of doing that yourself, it may be a difficult lesson for you to teach her. Perhaps get someone more rational to do so?
