  1. In case you missed it.
  2. Makes her own luck as good horses do. But look out. The Coupy crew and that weak as piss SI form that Thommo goes on about are coming after you.
  3. The 4-7 is way overs. How much will you take? Six figures?
  4. Dunno Milkshake. Hardly any milkshake testing in the NI for yonks.
  5. Dead true. Thommo gets the odd thing right.
  6. Someone needs to bring a criminal proceeding perhaps under the Health and Safety Act against the club, NZTR and the RIU. Aside from sliding the game further into the mire, the idea that animal wellbeing and rider health and safety were blatantly put at risk when there was no necessity is criminal. The track should also be closed until fully relaid, tested and proved safe for racing.
  7. Looks dangerous as! How could they have even begun racing on it? Back to the crash test dummy model it appears. Complete incompetence.
  8. Mind you I can see why Thommo might like that strategy as it would reduce his loss rate to somewhere round 5.65% per bet, excluding the extra 30% for any which have blinkers on.
  9. Brilliant bit of data. I'm inclined to measure performance by time but I was a slow learner. I think Thommo does measure performance, but obviously by the colour of the race and probably whether or not the princess deflates during the event.
  10. That's not a bad idea charging for trial vids. Might build a new stand at Foxton. I'll look into it. The club owns the media rights don't they? And get no return from any subsequent wagering revenue generated. Hmmmm....certainly one of your better suggestions and worth investigating.
  11. One way around the information cost recovery that might also appeal to trainers would be to record the jumpouts and make the recordings available on the club website for a fee. That way they could see if there was sufficient demand for cost recovery and if they are as popular as Thommo thinks they will be, then any profit could go toward participant and/or club costs of staging the events.
  12. Good reminder. From memory you were never able to answer that question either.
  13. I don't think that NZ punters are different. Where did I say that? I asked you how you think broadcasting jumpouts will increase punter losses and therefore industry revenue. I'm waiting for an answer. Meanwhile, you keep digging. Oh... and that's a good idea of RMs. Maybe leave the bike pump as well.
  14. Keep digging then Thommo and with luck the hole will close over. Maybe leave the princess above ground in case someone else could use her.
  15. Don't think Thommo understands the law of holes, but then he doesn't seem to understand the laws of punting, wagering or anything much else other than how to repair the Princess either.
  16. Good point Vanturk. And neither is NZTR, which is responsible for the rules and their enforcement in accord with the legislation. . 29 Racing rules (1) Every racing code must make, and maintain in force, rules regulating the conduct of racing by that code. (2) Without limiting subsection (1), any racing rules of a racing code may provide for— (d) the conduct and control of race meetings, including safety requirements; and
  17. Did you write both these posts? Is it harness or thoroughbred trainers you are saying are crooked now?
  18. Wait...when I ask you "Do you think punters will be willing to lose more $s if they can access Levin jumpout videos on youtube?" you answer "no". When I try to clarify that by asking "So, you don't think that will generate more revenue for the industry?" you answer "of course it will". Perhaps you could decide which it is, and if it's the latter, let us know where the extra punter losses will come from in your view.
  19. 2% for each of the racefields charge and the PoC tax. Seemingly the working group 2015 report has disappeared off the website. This is from the DIA regulatory impact statement. Applying an information use charge of 2 per cent of turnover (as suggested by the Working Group) would result in revenue of $5.7 million per annum for racing bets and $1.1 million for sports (after 5 per cent withholding tax). Applying a consumption charge of 2 per cent of turnover to these figures would return $9.8 million to New Zealand (after 5 per cent withholding tax). The Working Group suggested (based on Infometrics’ projections) that annual growth of 11.5 per cent could be expected over the next few years, which would increase the return to around $16.9 million in 2020.
  20. So, you don't think that will generate more revenue for the industry? Sounds helpful then.
  21. Do you think punters will be willing to lose more $s if they can access Levin jumpout videos on youtube? Is that what you are saying?
  22. Next he'll want video of all track work that he can watch at his leisure in the lounge at 10 am with his Latte. And if trainers take a few for a gallop on the beach, he'll expect a night vision camera to be there. I hear reports of the odd Derby at Ballydoyle but never saw a video of one.
  23. The last time I tried to video a jumpout with my phone most of the vision seemed to be of clouds and grass so you probably should leave me out of assisting.
  24. I thought "prospective" meant likely to happen?
  25. Wait...."we have grown those assets"? Haven't they spent most of them?
