  1. Freda's best horses do daily carrot exercises
  2. Was the Stan Fox Stakes but not sure if that was its original name or not.
  3. Thanks Tesio. That certainly tidies up a few of the matters I raised.
  4. And will that eliminate the likes of Parson's who don't operate from club owned facilities?
  5. Oh. That's a refinement on the rules I posted. Where did you see that?
  6. Handicap racing, if done properly, is blatant socialism too though they can't even do that right here.
  7. NZTR will be the sole judge to determine eligibility Of course, sole judge has legal definitions. It is not the same as absolute judge. There is serious money at stake (175k to the winner cf 60k for second). If a horse that clearly complies gets beaten by one whose eligibility is questionable, I could see this going to court if they don't clarify the eligibility conditions. At the same time, it might be a good idea to make them more conducive and restricted to SI based horses. Great that they have this opportunity all the same but I can't see it being much more attractive a mission than a comparable NI race, maybe a black type one if it's a filly or mare.
  8. That particular example seems rather ill thought out and poorly defined. Why the Wellington Cup carnival is specifically mentioned doesn't make sense. SI based horses during the period which tackle other NI races will be excluded? The description of the primary requirement "located at a SI training facility from midnight 31 December" ... what does that mean? Presumably the horse can't go for a spell or therapy during that time? Or are SI spelling/therapy facilities, training facilities? Is the beach a training facility? If you go by the definition of that in the rules a lot of SI trained horses will be ruled out. The likes of the Parsons' stable, a big part of the Pitman stable etc. spring to mind. Training Facility means any place at which horses are actively trained or worked and: (a) which is owned, leased or occupied by a Club; (b) in respect of which a Club has any right or ability to access; or (c) which is reasonably believed by NZTR or a Tribunal to be in some way used by a Club Why December 31? You'd think for this to possibly advantage SI based horses it should be for the season or thereabouts. Otherwise, a horse can have a spring campaign from a NI base perhaps culminating cup week here, then a spell and back in work for the target race from December 31. Then, as you say, NZTR being the sole judge raises the question of whether the big players will be able to make an acceptable case for eligibility whereas the small players may not.
  9. Hardly need to set any records in here would she?
  10. I wonder about similar races appearing here. For example, the 350k SI trained race next April. Given that the big stables have SI arms, will that really work the way it seems to be intended?
  11. Not sure what that comment means but I certainly wish I had one just like him!
  12. Listening to Cameron last week, it sounds like a number of problems are related to contracted out services and servers and they won't be totally fixed until they bring everything back under their own umbrella next year. I'm no IT expert but this seems like something that should be able to be fixed by someone.
  13. I'm back. Figured out how to get rid the ads. Apparently my sub expired 3 years ago!
  14. I meant in NZ. Has there been a positive?
  15. This is interesting. Has there been a methylphenidate +ve in NZ?

  17. Bad error I think. Will need to find 3 lengths.
  18. This was the original correspondence. F'd if I know what the election had to do with it when it was pretty much as expected anyway. http://i1.cmail20.com/ei/y/4D/1E6/836/133051/csfinal/NZTRRoadshowsEDMBanner-9900000000079e3c.png In November and December 2023, NZTR CEO Bruce Sharrock and COO Darin Balcombe will be undertaking Roadshows across the Northern, Central and Southern regions to meet with local stakeholders and provide a strategic update on NZTR activities. I'll await the response to those of us already registered with interest.
  19. Not sure what the election has to do with it. I'd already registered for the proposed November one but have no direct correspondence about the deferment other than seeing this.
  20. I know that. I'm saying that Longines say up to 1300. I'd say up to 1400 here, not up to 1600.
  21. I'd say here: - 1400 sprinter 1500-1700 miler 1800- 2200 middle distance 2400+ stayer
  22. I certainly don't think many would consider 1600 a sprint. Longines uses the following categories for their world rankings. S 5f - 6.5f : 1000m - 1300m M 6.51f - 9.49f : 1301m - 1899m I 9.5f - 10.5f : 1900m - 2100m L 10.51f - 13.5f : 2101m - 2700m
