  1. Meeting News Awapuni Trials Cancelled Due To Insufficient Nominations - 16 Total Nominations
  2. Totally unacceptable and unneccesary. Made a superb and very brave performance almost unwatchable and another nail in the coffin of jumps racing as we know it imo.
  3. H McNeill (THE COSSACK) - Spoken to regarding his whip use over the concluding stages.
  4. Encouragement?
  5. They might be better to attend to getting the whip rules sorted? Hopefully, Justine will be advocating for that and we'll hear of some progress in the next missive from Welfare.
  6. Yes, though I note the bright sparks that do the programming here, have a couple of R65 and Jumpers 2200s programmed in Canterbury in the next month, including one next week on the poly. Where they expect a jumper to emerge from when there are no races for them down here is hard to figure, let alone one quick enough to race creditably on the AWT.
  7. Given its legs were in the air, I'd say it fell, a bit more than badly blundered. Strangely there is no report on the outcome for either horse involved. No vet exam?
  8. I note this issue has just been raised in another thread. Went back and had a look at the meeting I originally referred to here and not only is the stewards' vision not there, the screen saying when it will be has disappeared, though from memory there was nothing contentious at that meeting which they might have wanted to hide. I can only think that the pigeon carrying the video from Petone to Cambridge must have died en route.
  9. And the plonkers cut it out of the video replay. Clipped heels?
  10. I think that's Freda's point.
  11. I'd say they'll be planning to add a couple more to make them accessible to as much of the horse population as possible but resources don't allow doing that in one hit. Maybe a partnership with freight companies to move horses there when they have empty spaces?
  12. Yes, the Troggs version reached #5 in the UK and #7 in the US, however the WWW version remains the best selling love ballad in the UK.
  13. Now mardigras and still posts occasionally on theraceplace.

  15. 1994 Four Weddings and a Funeral. One of my favourite karaoke songs then. The Wet Wet Wet version. However, even Wet Wet Wet got so sick of it, they withdrew it from sale when it was still selling 120,000 copies a week. A very odd choice for a TAB ad I thought, especially if trying to appeal to a contemporary audience who probably never even heard of it.
  16. Doing a good job with limited resources I think.
  17. Has it been suggested that trainers are avoiding the AWTs because of safety issues?
  18. So you are saying that an ex-racehorse (i.e a horse that raced) has raced in a pony scurry this year? Did it win?
  19. Another one for those who think it doesn't get people into the industry.
  20. https://www.nzherald.co.nz/sport/racing/mick-on-monday-warren-kennedy-laments-wasted-opportunity-at-abandoned-timaru-meeting/6H2LWTKBDND3JCLZHP6ASSKTEI/
  21. I'm very surprised that there is no mention of the irrigation in the stipes report on the matter. It will also be interesting to see if NZTR pays the club its race day fees given the apparent non-compliance (or worse) with race day preparation guidelines and protocols.
