  1. Totally sexist, but geez the last 3 winners were not male! Without the females in harness racing, things would be looking extremely dire in the Junior ranks and stable workers! Will many of them etch out a living solely on harness racing out of their time?????? Nah, not on your nelly!
  2. O’Reilly yes, but the other two are not overly established. Yes Greg Hope’s father trained but not sure if you could say it was a generational name could you?
  3. To be fair didnt Alicia Harrison win this previously? It does matter what horses they draw as there have been several drivers win these types of events that just are not the best by a long shot! On the face of it, you would think at this stage of their careers, Alicia and Luke would be the only two that would pick up many drives if they were in the South Island. Great to have these events though, as we need to be encouraging as many as we can to remain in the harness industry! Looking at all of the names, you would have to have serious concerns that many of them will make a living out of harness racing out of their Junior days unfortunately! Where are the standard names in harness? Butt, Jones, Nyhan, etc. etc.,
  4. Hard to get the planes to fly elsewhere I wouldve thought and do not think existing subdivisions would appreciate it!! All to do with noise levels, and think it is doubtful it will be changed. May happen but wouldve be given odds on it.
  5. How do we actually know what horses have had the Golden Injection? It could be going on all the time and not advised for a variety of reasons? Punting, stake money and looking at selling the horse? Wouldnt be surprised if most horses have some slight soreness in the legs somewhere, due to the amount of speed work they do? Most human athletes that run mega miles will have minor aches and pains dont they?
  6. Having the horses hocks injected does seem to make a huge improvement in horses! No damn use telling the punters this as the horses are up behind the mobile, as far too late. Why is it not disclosed far earlier? Why are other things not disclosed like acupunture or muscle treatment? Why, because they do not have to!
  7. I understand that the AllStars land is under the flightpath!, If this remains I would be very surprised if it got approval for subdivision! Who in any right state of mind would build under that nowadays?
  8. If he sold his home $120k over GV in 2 days, then I would be thinking that he may well have undersold it! Truth of the matter is that even though this Labour government is totally incompetent, they are making some people millions in Capital Gain!!! Every bit of meddling in housing they are doing is only increasing prices! They really should stick to what they have an idea about, shit that leaves nothing!
  9. Why would MVB or Sherwood write something positive about harness racing? That is not on their agenda! They have it in for harness racing and are just mud rakers unfortunately. Journalists and media people nowadays are not like they used to be and are under the control of our esteemed leader, and will not publish the truth if it is going to affect her!!! Why didnt the media print the truth about the nanny????
  10. Yes important to have a decent driver onboard! Different training methods and change of scenery also helps, also the use of VETS is probably the biggest factor nowadays!!!!!!
  11. All of the AllStars horses form and ability seems to decline after they leave the stable. It is only because they are just so more professional than any other stable in Australasia!
  12. Where does Cullen come into it? He is surely only the understudy? I await the sequel!
  13. Galah, you are correct regarding not being able to see the dogs! Even Addington track is too far away to watch the dogs easily, however Not many owners actually go oncourse to watch their dogs race anyway! Wouldnt be too concerned about it as Swarbrick and her Lefty Losers want the dogs GONE!!!
  14. Finally, Bourbon on The Rocks off the unruly! Drawn 2 tonight at Addington! Probably break now!
  15. The truth of the matter is that the current rule in regards to interference is just BS! Glassy Webb shouldve been disqualified, end of storey! Zircon Lass was checked out of the race and it was sheer bolting and probably wouldve won if it had not been side swiped. Harness racing has got it so wrong and it is just sheer BS laziness that they do not go back to what the old rule was! Racing integrity what a load of crock HRNZ!!!
  16. Do not like the rules already! To be fair, I do not always follow rules, and do not have to! Got no idea what these rules are going to be, but as we all know there are always consequences from all new rules! I do not like to be controlled as you are well aware!
  17. Ranga will not be missing in action at all! He is probably just catching up on some sleep after the excitement of Jewels Day! He will be back, he is a fan of “The Brodster”.
  18. What are the main points of this BS they are going to be writing in English? Glad it will be English, as totally over this Maori crap we are being subjected to daily!!!
  19. SJones, not sure what went on at Cambridge with this bum pinching? However, with the PC bullshit and other things nowadays, it would be one helluva risk pinching a ladies butt without her consent! You wouldve got away with it in Ranga’s day, but nowadays you could well go for a skate without the consent of the pinched one! Some of the less than hot ones may enjoy it, but most wouldnt! If someone pinched my wifes butt, they would wear one!!!
  20. Yes we do need to support the North Island harness, as it is on life support. The question needs to be asked is why Auckland is allowed to run races for at least 12k and have small fields and Canterbury is running races for as little as $7k and has larger fields? Yes I know it is all about distribution to the clubs, but it seriously has its problems!
  21. Chief, doesnt mean that the North horses are anywhere near as good as the South horses does it? RocknRoll Mama, an amateur raced horse was placed so what it shows is that mile racing at Cambridge is very interesting! The reason there were many North Island horses involved isbecause the Auckland stake money generally is much higher and smaller fields, so far easier to qualify! Cup Day probably does ok as the Club makes huge money on the hospitality revenue. Also, it does bring a great crowd oncourse and probably not get a lot of returnees to the races during the year, but is decent promo!
  22. Interesting Jones. Definitely silly decision to continue in June as too wet and cold. As for why they may not run again is because it is a huge loss venture for harness racing with the stakes and travel costs! Does anyone know what HRNZ pays out in travel costs to participants???? Seem the best horses are generally in Canterbury, run something at Addington over 1980 metres.
  23. To be fair though, there were many horses that clearly qualified only because others did not go because of where the Jewels were run this year, at Cambridge! Look most people have an opinion on the Jewels Day, and if it gets you excited and keeps horses racing then it is a good idea to hold them even though it is not a profit making thing for the industry. Hopefully Addington holds it next time over 1980metres but they need to change the time of the year they run it surely?
  24. Of course they wouldnt, as it would be held at Addington over 1980metres. Labour government are really great planners arent they? Every single thing they have tried has either not got off the ground or effed up!!! To be fair they have been very successful in having 5 times more people waiting on a State house since they arrived!!
