Biggest gambling problem for some is being able to get enough money on! The AML limit of $1k is another gambling problem! At the end of the day it is going to affect the TAB far more than Brodie

At the end if the day, there has to be some personal responsibility from all of us. If you are a poor punter do you seriously believe the TAB will restrict you? If you can afford to wager larger amounts then why is the TAB restricting these punters? Total hypocrisy! Anyone know did the big meeting that Winston wanted actually happen ? Never heard a thing??

Lol, Galah mustve been a politician at some stage? Really is that the best HRNZ can do, just a nothing interview ? Surely he should be able say how many mares had been bred so far without this other BS? Mentioned Taupo racing as a positive, but didnt mention the elephants in the room! said more punters effectively but the cost of living is affecting turnover?? Mr Steele it is not the cost of living that is affecting turnover any more than other times!! You allow the TAB Bookies to stop punters from wagering, you have allowed Entain/ TAB to make poor decisions in regards to several wagering decisions and Trackside production and yet you come out with this?? If they wanted turnover to be increased then it would be exceptionslly easy to do but they would rather restrict it and not encourage wagering! HRNZ and harness participants are going to get a rude awakening shortly, as too many in the industry are scared to speak up as they will be shown the door.

Was actually talking about HRNZ rather than Entain, but Entain only wanted the TAB for sports and online gambling and we can see that clearly. Not talking about HRNZ back in their hey day, it is the current way that they have been operating for the last decade! Yes harness racing is a great product not denying that, unfortunately the best of it bas been and dramatic change is close. Gamma, in the next year or so, I would be betting my last cent that you will be coming on BOAY and saying that yes Brodie you were totally on the money. No way on earth can a business be run the way it has been over the past few years and succeed!!!!! I repeat that the only way the can pay the current level of stakes is thru the hundreds of millions that they have been gifted, when that dries up???????

Cuts are inevitable the way they are blowing the money from Entain! .The truth of the matter is that Entain being brought in as the White Knight to save racing in NZ wouldve been ok if the industry hadve used the money wisely, and not like a kid in a lolly shop!! Can not talk about the gallops as I not interested in them but I have yet to meet a single person that has confidence in the ones making the decisions! nothing personal but they have acted extremely irresponsibly with industry money and not their own! All the time being paid big salaries and ultimately they will be down the road. Does anyone actually believe that the ones making these decisions have ever had any success running a business, as that is what harness racing is?

They named a race after Craig lol There are others who are doing great things for harness and are unpaid financially, but he is very lucky, they named several races for his efforts!

The TAB are happy for punters to lose, that is whythey advertise for punters and give bonus bets etc. If punters want to offload $100 bets then that is fine but if others want to offload larger amount then that should be great for the TAB! Gambling business I thought the TAB was? In life people do things at different levels and different abilities!

$1k cash or betting vouchers is not a large amount in todays money! No problem with having a limit but needs to be higher as it is hindering wagering. Do you really believe that money launderers would be gambling on horses to launder money for $1k?

They need to increase revenue and restricting turnover has a detrimental effect. There used to be punters that went on course but now I would suggest there are very few punters on course wagering large amounts since the restrictions were applied. Just makes absolutely no sense to have the NZ TAB applying an AML limit of $1k, as that is such a pathetically low amount in todays money! For the TAB to want to know who is winning $1k is hindering wagering and reducing turnover and profit for them. They seriously have made some poor decisions for the industry but then Entain does not seem to care!

Sustainability comes first? How can we have sustainability when We are currently being operated by a gifting of millions from Entain and being very poorly utilised? Where do the owners and trainers stand when that money is stopped? They will not be attracting new people into those ranks when the stakes are halved and that is decidedly probable. There are many issues that need addressing including the encouragement for wagering from the loyal punters rather than restrictions!! This needs prioritising well before bonuses being dished out to owners, aswithout the wagering there is no racing.

Personally still can not see how on earth they believe that they can continue to race at Auckland when every meeting they are running at a significant loss? Unfortunately HRNZ are going to get a very rude awakening and there are going to be many that are going to be looking for another job in the future! It is a shame that it seems there is just no accountability going on for the way the money is being wasted! Anyway been pointed out to them continuously and just falls on deaf ears!

Punters should really be doing their own research and selection! That is the fun of punting surely, and you can only blame yourself then? Reality is that you can make money on harness racing but probably only a small percentage do! Have followed harness racing for decades and I can tell you that there are not many tipsters on TV that are actually trying to do you a favour to make money lol The ones getting paid are not good tipsters or they would not be needing to charge you!

Nigel/ Harness Unhinged videos are well worth watching at every meeting he covers! He is financially unpaid and does it to try and promote harness as he is an enthusiast! He doesnt have to do it but chooses to and not sure why he continues to do so as it is very time consuming I would say. Surely with all the money that Entain has been gifting them, you would think they would be promoting Harness racing more and not just letting Nigel/ unhinged do it for them? Definite major contender for unsung hero for racing!

What is a good track? Quite often the HRNZ weather conflicts with the actual weather, and no one alters it at any stage. Have to do your own research.

Yes shortage of available horses around at several places at the moment, which is a big worry.

Monday not exactly ideal for being the best punting day, and everyone back at work now! Great to have this grass track racing up there but difficult punting when do msny stsrters up there with no grass track form so not difficult to see why wagering would not be great!

No point betting into tote as the pools are so low and divs would be getting money back most of the time or far less than should be.

Mustve been a bit of last minute $. waste of time having tote pools with this amount of wagering surely? Restrictions on some punters and not others is acknowledging that the Bookies do not play fairly when treating individuals differently. They put up the odds but arent prepared to take the punters on?

Good if you can get it, but unfortunately we know it isnt going to continue with stakes at the level they currently are! Unless Entain/ TAB/ HRNZ are prepared to come out and state that the stake money will not be significantly be reduced in the next few years??

Galah, you are correct that the galloping at the start was caused solely by Kate Coppins continuing to look inside her. She shouldve been looking forward rather than sideways and Becker would not have been severely interfered with from Kate Coppins drive. Yes she shouldve beed suspended and fined no doubt about that! They think it far better to nail drivers who use the whip intent on wanting to win a race? Nathan Delaney shouldve been warned for his drive, probably lack of driving skill on his behalf here?
