Your right john, It's really piss poor.,I remember this debate on the other site a couple of years ago, I can't believe some trainers don't have the patience to wait a few more months for the dogs to mature especially those young big framed dogs, surely it would make more sense for the dogs longevity in racing and their immediate welfare. But the gypo's in the sport don't give a toss about welfare or the bad image the public get. I can't remember the last good news story to come from the Greyhound world.

I had 3 bets tonight, two were straight place bets and one was a first 4 at Cranbourne that I randomly fancied ..there was 4mins and 30 secs before Cranbourne went off, this wasn't enough time to get the bet on, with all the hamster wheels turning on every horse number I pressed... frustrating....I'm going old school tomorrow and using half a tank of petrol to find a TAB agency, I haven't got the patience for this shit.

It just reminds me of how Godolphin dominated racing in the UK when I lived There, punters and trainers were particularly peeved off that they were allowed to run a pace maker in the race to give their horses the tempo they needed, the pacemakers normally dropped out at the 2or 3 furlong mark when their job was done.

The one thing I don't like is one barn having so many runners in a big race it just opens up the team driving aspect too much for me..lead trail stable mate.. passing Lane ..your in a no win situation if you have a horse in the race, your fighting a team of horses not individual horses. I'll get hammered for this, but I see it all the time in classic races and not many big races excite me anymore apart from the square gaiters. One thingI would love to see is the passing Lane done away with....lead and hand up so meekly would become redundant, the pressure would be on all the time and drivers would have to start thinking rather than taking the easy option.

I would love to see Jack's legend or star Galleria lead and trail just to put a fly in the ointment.

I agree, used to love sitting down with the t.g and Friday flash, nothing like seeing it in black and white.the old Simple things seems so much easier ,new technology just seems to get people hot under the collar.
