  1. My advice, let others decide what’s best for them. Remember, some are in it for fun, I know that’s probably hard for you to understand. Anyway, we all know your views
  2. I like poker face too Kak. R1-5 R2-3 R3-11 R4-6, throw in 12 & 14, good longshots R7-7 R8-3
  3. Rosehill R1-4.Should win again on heavy. Caul R1-6. Better ride last start would have been in money. Williams on, extra distance, yep. Caul R2-8. Race looks suited 2nd up. Aussie & Ruakaka for me, will avoid Hastings
  4. Good that rod & curious started this thread all alone, they can feed each other’s ego for the next 12 months or so, Thomarse will pipe in with his thoughts, should be entertaining to say the least. But rather than people trying to convince others that they are a maths genius, how about this. Most on here are not going to delve into racing stats as much as rod & curious, so help with ways the small sat punter can improve his chances of winning. No system is wrong, I worked with a guy once that bet on NZ gallops & harness. He took no notice of draws, track conditions, weights, drivers etc. Only rule was, horse must have won same time as previous year, one month either side. We thought he was mad, we wrote down each week his horses, he returned a profit each year, for the 3 years I worked with him. So he had his system, stake was always same, $5ew on every runner, but he stuck to his plan. To this day, I still look back to how a horse was performing 12 months back. So my advice to the small punter, stick to what you follow. If it’s league, know the time to bet after an intercept try against play, darts , horses what ever. All you have to do is gain a slight edge, and your winning. Do agree with Barry, getting best odds is important, but also understand that many NZ punters will only be with tab, so their pretty limited. MOST IMPORTANT, listen to others, but make your own decisions.
  5. What years was he a jockey, and was he any good?
  6. So refresh my memory, I don’t need names. An argument after the races, someone brings gun, shoots person trying to stop argument?
  7. Good question. Close to a grand for something therapeutic?. I like the definition of PRIMARILY ?. Sums it up nicely, go the vets.
  8. RIU have responded, this has been posted on Facebook .
  9. Don’t think Kirk was charged?
  10. Good to see someone on the money ?
  11. Imran Kahn race 6, glenisthebetter looks home again race 7. Saved my money on horse of course, gonna be heart break horse.
  12. All good, not trying to name innocent parties. Bizarre that nothing comes up when googled, even thou 30 years ago, thought info would be around. If anyone finds article, please post it, or pm me. Ta
  13. Forbury again tomorrow boys, let’s list a few !
  14. Not blaming you, I know Thomas pisses people off, and just won’t give up, but saying that, others involved won’t give up either. I don’t care personally, but others, like The Centaur are just having an honest conversation, without curious taking the piss.
  15. You would know more about it than me, but I thought Nick Wigley trained her, or was it only first few starts?
  16. Very impressive indeed
  17. Sadly, this thread will just continue down this road. Curious having a go at Thomas regarding his views on punting. Mardigras & barry will also get involved, which makes for a bloody boring, but familiar feel to it. Just post your tips everybody, forget about the arguing, that’s what was asked in the first place.
  18. Can’t seem to find any info about it?
  19. Ok, Sorry John Sheenan. Thought it was motukarara trainer?
  20. What a great horse. Performed well in aus too.
  21. I first went to riccarton in the early 80s, Kerr stable were one of my favs. Horses always looked fantastic. I remember gaffa and clansman, but there were others, anyone name them?
  22. Good story, early on she looked like an honest trotter that would win a few, especially after running so many 2nds early on. Was more of a sprinter type early on, but I remember this race, and was surprised she won and was not run down. Maybe the vet trainer , was ahead of the times ?
  23. Wasn’t a motukarara trainer involved in a shooting out that way in the 80s /90s? John Sheenan or something, somebody will remember
  24. Viva Remero probably the best of them?
