Newmarket
I used to enjoy following his horses early on. But, has he battled to win races now, his team seems to just battle, and he seems to drive with no great authority, just goes around for fun. Needs to get his confidence back, both driving and training

He must be in his 60's now
Guest CrossCodes
Agree, always used to put his horses in the race too, now just seems to be like most of the older drivers and just sits back and runs on late.

His horses always go well but the edge is not there anymore.
Happy Sunrise
Also, Just Wondering went out favourite again today. Not sure why. It was punted into an unbelievable quote at Oamaru after the Whale put it in his best bets list. Then was short today again in a tidy maiden field. Maybe the Whale has got people on the bandwagon thinking it is a super horse or something so expectations are high.
Mardy
I don't think i can recall him moving on both of his horses today. No doubt John has driven a lot of winners and some nice horses in his time. But maybe it's time to put an outside driver on?.

I just never understand how he can throw them out there when he has a tipping line. They can't be his best ones surely but who knows.

Happy Sunrise
and another win. The man is back! The man knows his horses. Knows his trade. Over the years he and his horses have always had my respect. Edited October 25, 2018 by Happy Sunrise
