Cya Art Won a Group 2 on Boxing Day recently at Bathurst,  beating old kiwi's TAIPO and SMIFFY"s TERROR too. 

John and Robert Dunn's old horse seems to be ending his days without winning. ALTA ORLANDO down the track at Bathurst.

ALTA ORLANDO has won over a million 💰 for them but just battling now ( 5 x thirds from 11 starts this Spring/ Summer campaign for about 15k so lucky to break even) might be time to retire the old warhorse shortly. He has done enough over the years ....

since starting at Brisbane and running unplaced twice at her last 2 starts at 40-1 and 20-1 , Grimson took the Horse over , and raced her at Menangle and she's won by 5 lengths in 1.51  twice, in the past 2 weeks at $1.50 then $1.10 tonight ..... staggering what this man can do.😳 

ILLHAVABubbles Part owned by C Livingstone as well who also races 'Mister ROBIN HOOD' , fresh from Cambridge where had one win in 17 starts last winter there, now blasting home in 1.51 for Grimson 😎.  . (started 2nd fav tonight , ran 2nd to the NSW sires stakeswinner )

Livingstones good horse has left Queensland and joined GRIMSON as well. HOT and TREACHEROUS when he lines up next will be for Grimson after near a year in QLD . What will he run next ??? 1.47 I'm picking ? 😁. he was a good horse already , so wait to he cranks him up . Will run past Swayzee probably. be like a HOT  Grim Rocket lol...😅

Grimson also winning tonight with Hi MYNAMEISJEFF again in a  1.48.6 mile  (beating woodhams and Kennards horse Nz FFA winner SOUTH Coast ARDEN tonight) .  fricken flying machines...   already a Grim Rocket 🚀

Just like will Freedman said on channel 7 horse racing yesterday about gai Waterhouse there's something in the water😜🤣in all seriousness Grimson got the horses off has-been trainers or average trainers plus with the water they improve our of sight.i doubt Grimson could improve a horse of a superstar trainer.he may get it to keep on trucking thou due to the water.run of the night you missed gammalite.callmebreeze french Trotter was massive in first run in Oz.it will improve out of sight.now if Grimson got this horse your looking at a superstar nothing will beat as I believe the trainer isn't a elite trainer at all and horses would improve with a lot with a better trainer.

I saw that 😁 , and laughed and laughed . He was trying to make it sound in jest but the Racing World watching on Free to Air tele knew what he meant.

Gai  (and Bott) had 3 super front running winners again yesterday and they seem to do what all those fantastic trainers can't . Just like Grimson at the trots.

A very good Trainer is Mr Waller . hard to fault him at all the way his team races.

Was meaning the incredible 'Style' of Gai Waterhouse/Bott runners. The way they race which is for a large percentage of the runners . High-Balling out in front. Most horses get run down in that style at the gallops. Gai and Adrian get more home than most.

If you go fast enough you can get there with some of them anyway (the Style) 

Pride Of Jenni (from another stable) is the only one i can think of consistantly tried 'In Front high-balling' and has 5 wins from 25 race starts. Her last 2 starts were Group 1 wins at Flemington in 1.34.7 miles in November . so it paid off in the end . beating Mr Brightside and Alligator Blood.

But most horses would of been 'broken' by that stage in spirit. getting run down after going hard All the Time.

Waterhouse/ Bott seemed to have mastered the Front Running 'Style' though and continually Implement it every race-day . (with results better than other trainers anyway)..

golden bays an interesting one. I would imagine whoever first bought it from nz  would have paid a reasonable sum.

I remember it went ok at the trials here,then showed what i thought was big improvement when it had its first and only nz start on nz cup day,running under a 1.55mr itself when running about 7th after a wide run. They said on trackside it had tossed its driver out beforehand and run around the track but they still started it.Maybe getting all spooked up had helped it,who knows.

So i've occasionally watched it when its run in australia and its gone like its trials form. Handy but not the horse that ran on nz cup day. It did win first up in queensland though.

So will be interesting how it goes for grimson.

Both horses winning easily again Saturday night.

IllHaveABubbles by 6 lengths in 1.51 again ,  and paid $1.10  (couldn't win a mares metro qualifying race in QLD  for previous trainer 🫤) 

Mister Robin Hood by 2 lengths in 1.51.8 and paid $1.20 ..  improved a bit from Cambridge? lol... 

Golden Bay was scratched.

Lou's Dream wins First up for Grimson as well to complete the BIG hat -trick of wins . Lou's Dream did win 6 of her 13 Brisbane starts I spose,  so the Butler's did ok with it since it came from Williamson in the Nz deep South a year ago I guess.   1.52 neat mile tonight at $2.10 

The GRIM Rocket 'Treble' if (you were daring)  paid a total $2.75 all up . the legend lives on .......

Yes peter profit has been saying for 2 or 3 months now that seaton grima has the same magic as jason grimson.He writes articles on him ,just as he does on jason grimson.To give him credit,peter profit recognised early on in seaton grimas recent success that he too was now a magic man.

Grima used to be a regular driver for many of grimsons horses.

I see it was he who kept the speed frantic when parked in the race that golden bay won tonight in 1.49. His stopped late in the race but i guess when you have the magic you try and run the rest into the ground tactics wise.

Looking at how horses race at menagle,it seems there is a handful  of friends who all can improve any horse of any other trainer.Its been that way for a wee while. 

Anyway,i guess it just speeds up the demise of harness racing over there. Rival,honest trainers,surely must be getting out of the game when they see how poor they are results wise in comparison with the magic trainers.Either that or join the magic train.

Punters in Aus pretty much ignoring other runners when these lads are up to their tricks.

Race 6 coming up see's the Seaton Grima runner blowing from $2.20 fav out to $3.40 and the Grimson horse Lou's Dream firming $4.60 in to $2.70 . Probably a good price with Hart on ???

everything else I'd double figures. Seems another GRIM win coming Up.

Promptly wins the Group 3's of Treur Memorial at Bankstown and just now tonight the Redcliffe Patrons purse $50k G3,  running down the Interdominion Champion LEAP TO FAME by a head,  in a nippy 54 second last half. They were 6 lengths clear of the 3rd horse (trained/driven by the Grimson accomplice Grima.) 

DISTRICT ATTORNEY (that no-one had heard of much)  now a 'Leap To Fame beater' 🙄. That Grimson Miracle guy should take up thoroughbreds , probably win there too. 😎

You obviously didn't read this article.

He's a half brother to Cruz Bromac and has taken time to mature.  Can run a very fast sectional which Leap To Fame can't.  The latter has to grind his opponents into the ground.

A star emerged from the relentless drizzle that soaked Melton, where District Attorney displayed top tier talent with a withering sprint to capture victory and affirm there were many more to come.

 

Blake and Ted Caruana’s brilliantly bred four-year-old, a half-brother to million-dollar horse Cruz Bromac, understandably cost a pretty penny but is rewarding that investment and bringing plenty of delight.

 

That was certainly the case Saturday night when in Mick Bellman’s hands he ripped home from last to first to capture the Download The TAB App Pace and zero in on triple-figure stakes earnings.

 

“He really showed his colours tonight,” Bellman told TrotsVision. “He was phenomenal to come that far from behind on a wet track and finish off in 27 and a bit – he’s gone sensational.”

 

District Attorney was three deep in the three-wide train with 800 metres to go and Bellman showed patience before setting him alight off the home turn, briskly demolishing all in his path to score.

 

The widest runner on a rain-soaked track, he got home in a 27.2-second final quarter to win by 1.6 metres from La Captain.

 

“I think if he was on a dry track he would have gotten home in 25 the way he felt,” Bellman said.

 

“He was jogging around the turn. I thought 'I’ve got to go now, there’s no opportune time, I’m going to be wide and deep'. I just had to use that good 200 that I know he’s got in him. He’s as quick as anything over that distance if you can save him up.

 

“It’s a good thrill to be able to back him that he’s going to put you into the race when you need to and be able to use his speed.”

It was also “a good thrill” for connections, with Ted Caruana not only co-trainer with son Blake but also the owner.

 

And according to Bellman their loving every minute of District Attorney’s emergence, with tonight bringing his ninth win from his 19th outing.

 

“They love it. Every win’s like their first and they treat it like their last. They don’t leave anything in the locker with their celebrations and they just make it special,” he said.

 

“(Dstrict Attorney's) starting to round up and look a bit more mature in himself. Great to Blake and Celeste and Ted for giving him that time, you can get fooled into the trap of racing him too much too early, but I think it’s going to pay dividends by not going in everything early days."

 

Also thriving in the wet on Saturday night were trainer Andy Gath and driver Kate Gath, with the pair producing a treble.

 

Two recent Kiwi arrivals impressed for their new stable with Sly Terror winning the Country Clubs Championship Final and Winegum the 1200-metre The Big Screen Company Pace.

 

The latter was having his Australian debut and, like Sly Terror, led all the way to win, but it was perhaps the third leg of their treble that brought the most delight.

 

Veteran pacer Tango Tara made the most of his perfect draw to sweep off the leader's back and score in the Betavet Tiger Tara Free For All, his first win at Melton since November 2021, with only a Mildura success in June last year in between.

 

“It’s been a while since he’s won a metro race, he’s run a lot of placings along the way, it’s good to get that one out of the way,” Andy Gath told TrotsVision.

 

“He had the perfect draw. There was only four or five metres between first and last, they’re pretty even these horses – whoever gets the right run gets the opportunity, but you’ve still got to be good enough to take that opportunity.”

 

Also impressive was brilliant mare Queen Elida, who overcome a significant deficit to Ultimate Stride to produce a stunning 12-metre win that even surprised her reinsman Chris Alford.

 

“A little bit unexpected,” he said. “Talking to (trainer Brent Lilley) during the day, he thought she’d need the run tonight but she would’ve run a cracking half then. Just didn’t think she’d get anywhere near the leader actually.”

 

She was giving Ultimate Stride five lengths after they settled into single file but stormed home in a 27.4-second third quarter and 28.06-second final quarter for a stunning 55.45-second last half, almost two seconds quicker than any of her rivals.

 

“She was super tonight. At the half I thought we are not going to get anywhere near this leader but I better slide up and have a look, and as soon as she got up there she said I’m not dropping in behind it, I want to keep going.”

 

Emma Stewart produced a double on the night, with Our Vinnie (Mark Pitt) and Beach Life (Kerryn Manning) both scoring, while Chris Lang kicked off the night with a win with Dontouch The Duco and trainers Joe Pace (Justalittlesip) and Greg Fleming (Letsgobro) had their horses continue their winning runs. The night then closed with Musztang returning to form with a win over the sprint, the second of two 1200-metre wins on the night.

There's clearly no "magic" as such just the same modus operandi.  Pick up a horse that has had good form in the past and can run a handy sectional but whose form has tailed off slightly.

It could be shoeing, could be bloods need a tweak, could be gear change, feed change, change in work method.  The horse might have been joint sore or have gut issues which with targeted legitimate therapeutic treatment could work the oracle Even a change in scenery.  All could make a difference 2% which would be all that was required.

Yeah Na @the galah reckons there is a secret magic potion that escapes pre and post race testing.

District Attorney lost form Chief and was not going as well this year though. 4 unplaced runs this year and a 2nd. Now jumps out of the ground, (After Working hard out of gate too ?? ) and runs down the Vic Cup, Miracle Mile, Interdominion winner going for 15 straight wins ????

Spose Swayzee , who had Zero form for 10 starts midweek , suddenly beat Mark Purdon in a NZ Cup is 2% + improvement  .

you gotta ask questions about Boncel Beknjamen and I cast No Shadow both winning the Interdominion recent years.  At least Leap To Fame won the last Interdominon from Auckland Cup winner Better Eclipse, (Swayzee 3rd) to stop the rot . lol. 😁😂

A bit more to it than potions, there is happening . there is an interesting theory ,but being a theory we won't rumour-monger it.  Stewards locked them up and investigated 2 years ago , with knowing something was up, but found nothing at the retention barn. so all good . might as well roll with the better shoeing and that lol. 😊🙃

yeah the Grimson machine does pick up nice horses too, (like Frankie Ferocious from QLD) who was winner of 10 from 20 here and will probably win the $1,000,000 Eureka for the GRIM one in September. Frankie has a kind old QLD bloke owner so will be nice to see for him anyway.
