Oh come on Chief , Iet me be your friend. A fellow South Islander ! I told you I was there noting down the judges time plus I created this thread as I felt such a good race day expeience deserved one. I barely miss both NZ Cup week an Christchurch , Karaka day , Auckland Cup week ...often flying to get there and staying in nice place. Like to see first hand how NZ Racing is travelling. And the odd Australian Group day too....both codes ,I bat for both teams ! Some wag on here suggested I know nothing and a tag team of bullies cheered him on , but I only report on my experiences and I do enjoy giving my opinions to the keyboard warriors and fellow fluff merchants on here. I'd also previously told you I'd spoken to Cameron George and thanked him for his efforts. I usually walk around the course to take in the sights ,and check the fillies , and on Saturday watched two races from Public stand which I think is good at Ellerslie. The new TAB bar is rather nice but NO I wasn't at the Entain table.....I did stand by for a while and hope that some crumbs of knowledge would blow my way. I did hear that Entain is working close with the codes on a lot of exciting initiatives ,many of which are in the Northern region .Sorry to the CD whingers ! And lastly I don't like bragging but I did get into the winners room for an OJ and sushi ! It been done up ! Enjoyed the day....and many stayed on till well after the last race....true race goers , no parasites there !

Interesting that this TAB chap quickly resorts to calling anyone a bully who disagrees with him, ...but then himself resorts to bullying name calling. 4

I will now throw in a few comments.. Re reading the likes of the M report, You can champion it, cool, but surely you can not support the way M and his acolytes played procedural games around the whole process, that approach disgusted many 'in the south'. And Entain doing the big push to try and get young folk with a bit of spending money back to racing so expect more of this ! Meanwhile the old school racing types bang on their keyboards with snide remarks toward the 'future' of the sport/industry they make out they love. Good memories Murray....but don't blow a valve ! Don't try and hurt my feelings , you may effect my mental well being....its not like the good old days you refer to. Back then most of the many clubs were insolvent and struggling hence no money available for upgrades and infrastructure. It was a mess...many big rich owners had many horses ,and them and rich lawyers ran the Clubs too as volunteers. Racing was not in great shape , but had a big following cos part of Kiwi life and little else to do on weekends and holidays. Farmers and people with land ran and owned a few mares etc. Dead Cat Bounce indeed.....but the chance of a new start has been offered. Cos NZ Racing was bankrupt a few years back. Messara merely confirmed it cos NZ folk wouldn't understand ! WPeters and Entain given us a chance. Get with the times ! But I'll enjoy your memories ,keep em coming Champ ! Chief is still attending meetings mate . and has often supported some of NZ's best in Veerry Elleegant and the Te Akau runners amongst others (and controversies) He does however hate Track surfaces 😅😂. Nothing wrong with old school warriors remembering the good times too. here or anywhere. If you haven't got History... What have You Got ? everyone should enjoy some history (hopefully) unless they were locked in a cell with Thomass or something. that would be tough to take lol. 😉 Onwards to some more great racing today !!

Well one problem is very few actually do walk the track. Hence we use crash test dummies and come up with a plethora of excuses when the track turns to shyte like it did on Karaka Millions night. 1

Wingman
There were quite a few jockeys walking the track on raceday at Trentham yesterday. You, that is you TAB for ever, are quick to say 'move on' and slow to rebut decent, genuine arguments. This is a site to put forward thoughts, yes some may be dissed but overall a site that can do without your continuous sarcastic replies to those that you consider wrong to your train of thought. 2 1

Sarcasm .....No , not me ! I prefer Forest Gump , as he said " The Trentham Track is like a box of chocolates ,you never know what you gonna get ". And one for the Chief " My mama always said You gotta put the past behind you before you can move on ". How was Trentham ?....back when it was the champagne turf in summer and shampoo turf in winter I had a lot of great days there....good to see Chad Ormsby win the big Group 1 race ! Wingman
Sarcasm is irony used in a destructive manner, as in your Forrrest Gump quotes. Your lesson for this week is to remember what you would have been told as a child, 'Mind your manners'. Yes excellent training effort by Chad to get his filly to win the Oaks. 1

Not sure who you're flying as Wingman for .. but I can say I have found TABman to be very knowledgeable and quite forthright on his observations and experience in the industry and very positive on his outlook for NZ racing. and not using sarcasm at all (un-like your great Thomass man). perhaps you are his Wingman. spotting the problems for him lol😂 watch out for that extra whip strike or 2 in those big races. anyway TABman has great manners compared to the many snipers and poppy choppers that frequent these sites.. and IMO you are all right in a way. Sure .. some of the tracks have good patches and bad patches .nothing new there. You just get the track staff to deal with it best they can. Sure... sometimes the tote figures or race attendances aren't great ... But sometimes they Are. and sometimes the racing is great too. Now ... back to the Footy lol. 🥱😉

Sure .. some of the tracks have good patches and bad patches .nothing new there. That might well be the case @Gammalite but for @TAB For Ever to suggest that very few saw a problem on Karaka Night with the track is just bullshit. From the Stewards report: Following this race comment was made by some riders that their mounts were shifting in the ground. Films from Race 3 were also further reviewed where it was apparent that TEVERE had lost its footing rounding the final turn. Stewards convened a meeting with all riders and after viewing available film footage it was agreed that the meeting should continue. Amazing what they agree to when the money is up! Not a lot of thought for horse welfare eh @Thomass! After race 5: Following further comment from riders regarding the footing including W Kennedy who reported that his mount lost its footing passing the 600 metres, a further meeting was convened with all riders. After reviewing film footage and considering submissions from all riders present the decision was made to run the last race as scheduled. Lucky it wasn't a 10 race programme! Not to mention that the report is littered with comments about horses not handling the "shifty conditions". Nor the casualites found on arriving back at the stables. Also don't forget the abandonment of Trentham on the same day/night: Following the running of this race, riders expressed concern regarding an area of the track near the 600 metres, where ZACKERY (K Asano) lost its footing and slipped. A Lawson-Carroll also reported his mount REDANA also slipped. A track Safety Review Panel consisting of Stewards, Senior Jockeys and Club Officials was convened. Following a track inspection, which clearly identified a slip, a subsequent meeting with riders and club officials was convened and the remainder of the race meeting was abandoned.
