Thought it was a bit silly the bloke buying a mare in UK for $10,000,000 to bring out to Australia to race . At least 'Alcohol Free' was a Group Race winner but has just performing average for Waterhouse/Bott on the track. But $10,000,000 for a yearling is Just madness . A media stunt by Fat Debbie having too much success with Riff Rocket , and blubbering away to the media after every win. Must Really Not want to race this yearling with the partners she had in it? . you'd think they could do a private deal if she wants the glory for herself like some sort of selfish hog. Well she raced Winx in partnership with Magic Bloodstock (Peter Tighe and mrs from QLD) so had that Big white M for Magic on her Blue racing silks ( purple Debbie wouldn't be keen to see someone else's colours on her treasures anymore . Just purple now mate lol 😂 and Richard Treewicke a co-owner , so she would need $7.5 million then ? to buy them All out at the sales for the yearling foal . the record sale price just good publicity stunt/action/event for racing . Yearlings are already selling for too much . there's only a few that return a profit.

You are assuming there were equal shares. I thought she was a majority shareholder?

I'm sure Debbie has always fought hard to get the most of the pie . on and off the track 😁. Winx purchased at the Gold Coast sale for $1/4 million as a yearling I think they said once. yeah they do have many different sized shares in them these days. Up to 20 listed owners with gallopers too . Thank goodness we always had 1, 2 or 4 owners with the standardbreds and the billing was as simple as pie, with always halves and quarters for the billing , and you could do it on your calculator no worries 😆 even if they/you owned 2 or more horses , which most did as the horses were cheap ($10,000 each or less , rather than $1,000,000 (or $10,000,000 each) like thoroughbreds. that would drive you absolutely nuts worrying about them . sometimes you could/can just see.. the tension on these galloping trainers. the worry and pressure. Bart did , even Waller, many others , and even Gai look so 'tense' most of the time. They seem to get relief rather than enjoyment out of a 'win' most of the time. Gai wasn't even completely relaxed after the Slipper, even when a stable horse won it last week, as the 'wrong horse' won it . the real 'expensive' one dipped out and made her quite tense. (it still ran a good 3rd but their expectations are just so high , it just saps the enjoyment out of them all)
SLB2.0
Can someone explain why she was offered at the sale if the owners of Winx bought her, anyway. Presuming there's much more to it.

Presuming there's much more to it. Two obvious reasons. 1. it dissolves an ownership partnership and 2. Sets a market value for taxation purposes.
Chief Stipe
What Kepitis actually pays for filly www.racing.com Debbie Kepitis won't quite have to fork out an eight-figure sum when it comes to settling her account with Inglis after her purchase of Winx's $10 million yearling at Monday's Easter Yearling Sale. Kepitis was one of three part-owners of Winx during her racing career and, along with Peter Tighe and the family of the late Richard Treweeke, she retains a 33.3 per cent share of the champion mare. That one-third share is also what she owned of the Pierro filly prior to Monday's sale, in which she essentially bought out her other part-owners at a valuation of $10m. Kepitis told media on Monday that she didn't originally intend to buy the filly back when connections made the decision to catalogue her at the Easter Sale, but her bond with the youngster grew in the weeks and days leading up the electric few minutes in the Riverside Stables auction ring. Kepitis' Woppitt Bloodstock will now essentially have to part with $6.6m - two thirds of the total sale price - to complete the purchase of the filly, who will be trained by Chris Waller. It remains unclear whether Kepitis will race the filly with any other partners.
