Whats wrong with the staff that work the same long hours, in smaller stables with poorer quality bloodstock and opportunities than these stables have getting given an opportunity to be recognised for their significant contribution to the industry?

These awards are the same all the time , same 5 studs, same 5 stables , same 5 racing clubs they never change, unfortunately your TA fan boy attitude blinds you to the rest of the industry.

Here's your chance Huey.

It’s time to recognise New Zealand’s most dedicated and devoted Stablehands and Strappers as we call for nominations for the 2023-24 New Zealand Stablehand of the Year Award.

We are delighted to announce this year's Award will be sponsored by Saddlery Warehouse Cambridge & Tauranga. Lisa Anderson and her team are passionate supporters of the racing industry and are excited to be celebrating the unsung heroes of our sport.

This highly sought-after award will again be presented at the 2023-24 New Zealand Thoroughbred Horse of the Year Awards, taking place at Mystery Creek Events Centre, Hamilton on Sunday 8 September.

We understand how busy you are, so we have again made the nomination process very easy. It's as simple as filling out the online form linked below.

For more information, or for help filling out the online nomination form, please contact Sarah Young via email sarah.young@nztr.co.nz or call 027 819 6509 and she will guide you through the nomination process.

Three winners will be chosen - one from each of the major regions (Northern, Central and Southern), with each receiving $2500 prize money, flights/travel, accommodation and tickets to the Awards evening, with the overall winner receiving an additional $2500.

Nominations close 5pm, Wednesday 31st July.

This is your chance to show your appreciation and acknowledge your stable star's contribution by nominating them today!

We look forward to receiving your nominations.

Well that's about 6 times a year you are not moaning.  I guess you didn't mind the thrashing it got the previous start.

You'd moan too if you had my prostate CS!

But @Huey would complain that "battlers" can't afford stable hands!
