One has 5 starters & the other 7 starters. Surely these fields could have been combined ? personally, I like both races to bet into, with the smaller numbers then you get to get more time Actually Seeing the Horses before the race! for me this is Important Going forward and I can then compare how the be presenting next time.. These two fields are small, but some top young horses to be seen!

Assuming the club and sponsor put in the extra $23,000 to boost it to $40,000 they might be a little disappointed to see only 5 acceptors, who knows how many starters. Especially when they see a club elsewhere run a $40,000 race with 5 starters and no club contribution. I do think clubs are pretty brave to put in heaps of their own money for such races with potentially small fields when other clubs don't bother making any contributions at all.

I presume they are happy to find a race where they can put $1,000 on a $1.30 shot. A bit like the trots. Unfortunately, the turnover figures tend to indicate there are very few punters like that. It generally tends to be big fields with attractive odds that attract the most betting. And it is the bigger turnovers that help to fund the industry. Now, it$ vulgarly about ground out a Profit year on year! 3 minutes ago, Doomed said: Some punters quite like tiny fields with red hots for me: nope... sometime it can be via a nice place bet... or the bet can have a Bonus bet attached Though, it all starts with a horse Catching my Eye! That's the hard part. Another thing I like about a small field is Luck in running is less, those large fields some like funding the Industry on a just Way to Hard! you are welcome to them! The favs may be vulnerable first up and there are a couple of more than useful horses in the fields at false odds. The word is Velocious is heading to Australia hence Spratt getting off her. Surprisingly Velocious is still favourite on fixed odds for the 1000 Guineas.
