Gammalite Posted October 3, 2024 Posted October 3, 2024 What's going on Chief? It looks to me the barrier assistant that led her in by dragging her into the stall , had only just ducked under the front of the gate, and then they let them go. I would think the horse probably thought there was a chance he was still there ?? . and baulked a little. as she had some drumhead leaning over grabbing at her head up in the stalls as well. I used to tell the starter assistants to piss off and leave my horse alone at the trot standing starts 😁. It's Just too distracting for them , unless it's vitally necessary. ( if horse trying to rear up or something similar) Quote
Chief Stipe Posted October 3, 2024 Author Posted October 3, 2024 In my opinion the horse anticipated the start. The attendant up on the gate is holding her near side rein. She fought it and reared BEFORE the starter hit the button. Also the inside gate seems to open slower than the 2 barrier. 1 Quote
All The Aces Posted October 3, 2024 Posted October 3, 2024 If she had finished out of the top four she would have been scratched and bets refunded. Quote
