It looks to me the barrier assistant that led her in by dragging her into the stall , had only just ducked under the front of the gate, and then they let them go. I would think the horse probably thought there was a chance he was still there ?? . and baulked a little. as she had some drumhead leaning over grabbing at her head up in the stalls as well. I used to tell the starter assistants to piss off and leave my horse alone at the trot standing starts 😁. It's Just too distracting for them , unless it's vitally necessary. Chief Stipe Posted October 3 Author Share Posted October 3 In my opinion the horse anticipated the start. The attendant up on the gate is holding her near side rein.
