The Te Akau Juggernaut marches on...

Horses like him generate public interest so the promotion of them is good for the industry.

I’d be pretty insulted if I owned one of the beaten brigade in that race and read that Huey essentially believes their horse is crap.

News flash - they’re two year olds at the start of their career. Balmerino had a single start as a juvenile and only ran third - the rest is history.

The second horse is pushing on to the Karaka Millions - that tells me it may be better than our resident belittler thinks.

No that's a question , what did it beat is a question. Apparently its great for NZ breeding, how ?

Don't play a game of tautology.  The inference is it beat nothing therefore you are belittling its performance.  I've just answered the question regarding how it is good for NZ breeding.  If a NZ colt can't beat or even get near an OZ bred colt at Pukekohe then it isn't the best of the breed is it?  Take the OZ bred out and you have a NZ colt with black type.  You'd like that wouldn't you?

So I guess you have changed your view now about the Karaka Sweepstake races and the new Ellerslie sweepstake and slot races?  Afterall the two best fillies racing in NZ are not eligible for them.  I suppose that can be blamed on the Waikato mafia?

The winner isn't eligible for the KM.  I'm guessing @Huey likes that.  Now if the OZ bred gets black type across the ditch doesn't that raise the value of the second placed filly?

The irony of course which escapes @Huey is the second horse was Ozzie bred too except it just happened to be sold at Karaka.

Looking forward to seeing it go around in the Magic Millions and I hope it gives them windburn and bolts in , I'll be the first to congratulate them.

No , no it doesn't raise the value of the 2nd placed filly, of course I know its Aus bred certainly not by an elite Sire (yet).

Stop mincing my words, looking for a cheap insult to back up your claims.

Horses like him don't create interest until they get to their level, they do however create hype and delusion all integral parts of the machine behind it.

Not to mention of course that the top NZ colt, a NZ bred, is sidestepping the big NZ Sweepstake and Slot races and aiming for an Ozzie Grp 1.  Trained of course by an ex-Te Akau trainer who is doing very well in her own right.

That horse certainly hasn't been over hyped & its reached elite level, I hope it performs very well in Aus i'll be 100% behind it doing so.

TA trainer , you like to draw a long bow.

Would you like me to post all the press articles about Savaglee and the comments from Williams?

Pam Gerard was at Te Akau for 5 years from 2011 to 2016.

Fan Boy Club won't know what to do with yourselves this week, you'll get twice the hype in 7 days with the $1.1m  Zoustar colt off to Otaki , can't wait to hear how exciting it is .

Yep and you'll have something else to be negative about one way or another.

What is your beef with TA?  It seems personal.

This one is headed to the Magic Millions Chief, one of them may have to as there are only 2 NZ 2yo G1's from memory.

Do you think this one , the Snitzel and the IAV will all win G1's ?

Duh because it was bought out of that sale, try to keep up Chief.

That's obviously an option but not a reason.  So I gather you haven't done any cogent in-depth analysis.

I would say the Magic Millions Race isn't a high priority as it doesn't tick all the boxes for making a stallion nor necessarily what's best for the horse.

The magic millions races aren't group races of course. If they wanted to make him into  a stallion they would need to target a decent group race somewhere.

Tell that to the purchasers of STORM BOY whose sale price went ballistic after winning the MM with an exceptional rating

50m to Coolmore, who aren't mugs last time I looked

Subsequently only won a G3, maybe they are??

Aidan O'Brien now preparing to improve the rating at Ascot next summer

I think the $50m was contingent on him winning certain subsequent races, which of course he didn't. I haven't seen any mention of what the actual sale price was.

You're right

You'd think the deal would also involve any future G1's to get somewhere nearer 50M, perhaps at Ascot next year?

I said it didn't tick ALL the boxes.

Are you illiterate?

I think Coolmore might have gone too early.

It was a Grp 2.  The Skyline Stakes.  You aren't a detail person are you.

Correct.

His first up this latest campaign didn't look that promising.

Well they haven't have they as there are terms that must be met first.

I would say the value of Storm Boy is considerably less than $50m now.  Now the bind for the owners is do they geld him or not or try and get some decent Grp level form.
