TAB For Ever
The breeders of many of the Proisir an Santono Aladdin yearlings will be pleased with their results off a much less than $20k Stud fee a few moons back ! And good to see the South island purchasing a few in the $200k bracket

Who said they are heading to South Island.....I assume there are still Owners , Trainers and Breeders left in the South . Breeders in particular like to upgrade their mares etc and the ones purchased look helpful on that front...for starters some are Fillies which helps ! And I caught a glimpse of Southerners who not yet forked out. There will be horses for all budgets Back in the day ,at the time of the South Islands golden years ,many purchased at these National Sales. The mighty Show Gates grandam and that also of NZ Cup winner Middy were both purchased.....from the Eulogy family and the two fillies were the foundation of dozens of winners for Gordon T. So add the Southerners purchases this week ,to that of Te Akau , KRae , S Marsh , Go Racing etc along with the boss of Entain ...he's been busy already and along with any homebreds and the Southerners can go to the prorammers and say we have 20 plus 2 x yr olds ready to go and get the Southern 2 yr old racing back. Create , don't cry....the programmers will put the races on if the horses are there . Maybe time for a bit of collaborative initiative from the South !

Chimbu
Seems that Mr Richie (the buyer of the $2.4m lot) also races horses out of the Andrew Carston stable, including Miss Ziggy. Apparently, he is the buyer of the $200K South Island purchases. I heard that he is SI born & bred so it is nice to see him supporting racing on this side of the Tasman, too. I'm sure Andrew C is delighted to have him on board as an owner.

Here's hoping Mr Ritchie and Mr Carston use their significant investment and resources to get changes to those things that according to many who post on here are destroying South Island racing. Haven't you been listening or reading what those with skin in the South Island game have been saying? The track at the South Island HQ are poorly managed and the programming is a mess. Just two reasons that make it tough to race in the South Island.
Huey
Certainly a lot to live up for this top priced horse , I can't find a successful sale topper apart from Don Eduardo that won at G1.

Huey
Here we go @Chief Stipe , if you haven't got your share(s) yet the team have identified some dead certs for the race in this video. You could have 2 or 3 runners in the race , taken all the hardwork out of it. Top it off this is the best bunch of yearling Dave Ellis has seen at the sales , if that doesn't get your CC out of your pocket nothing will! Assange
From reading results so far from Book 2 - great results for buyers - dreadful results for breeders. Surely there are a lot taking a hit. Even if you selected a mid range stallion, surely you would have to make at least $50,000 to make a profit.
