Actually you could probably gallop your horse in the morning then whip it down to the trial when it was tired and pass the test!

You must think horses are delicate flowers if you think a morning gallop will make one iota of difference.

Roman Consul galloped a mile before winning a big handicap at Ellerslie.

And I'm pretty sure Eric Ropiha schooled Fans before the Melbourne Cup.

Yes. Agree. I've certainly seen horses gallop on race morning and done it myself on occasion.

Same here. I remember there was a top trainer may have been Bill Sanders that had it as standard practice. When I was going to the track the old timers (i.e. operated in the thirties) were big on long walks e.g 2 hours on the day just before the race.

That's one reason why you might gallop them on a race morning isn't it?

Yeah I know that's the case especially stayers.   I was just making the point that if you wanted to scam the Stipes for the barrier cert then there were a number options.

Ultimately thought that could bite you in the arse.

I assume Ears Back will be having a good gallop Saturday morning and a dose of Regumate.

Apparently she went in at the trials with 4 secs to spare. Interesting to see what happens today!

Not that it should make any difference but given what the owner has said on social media I wouldn't be surprised if the electronic egg timer is set to 90.0000001 seconds.
