This is a pic of the chimp that adds finishing order of horses on Trackside as they cross the line….

Sadly, he is 108 yrs old and 90% blind due to excessive banana eating which caused diabetes, he also has many other health issues.

Can Trackside please send him away on a well earned break, and maybe employ somebody with basic skills that can place 3 horses in finishing order as they cross the line…. how hard can it be??

Also on that, why is this Government hell bent on removing the Betting Exchange Bet Fair, via this monopoly legislation. So we have a right wing government who thinks competition is a bad thing???? Or is it just they like having their photos taken at the races with all the multi millionaires, but us poor old buggers who work 40 hours a week and just want to have a bet on a Saturday we are going to have to put up with shit service and shit prices.

And on what planet do we think giving TAB/Entain a total monopoly will improve anything.

Surely this can be fixed with the right person / chimp

Not just Betfair, trying to stop all overseas operators taking bets from kiwis. I still don’t think it will go ahead….

I ain't been on Betfair for ages but there are some very large head to heads pools in Tennis and other sports, the big punters turnup there, no restrictions as Betfair take their commission.

Close them down will definitely disappoint some, thinking they will get that money at TABNZ is daydreaming.

Holding Govt power in NZ has it seem in the modern area be producing some interesting compromises! Having a racing minister is quite new! The Nats have Never care about 'things racing'  (lol, just look who has represented them with that role!!) or gambling in general,  <--- that's for the many losers out there!   Its been a nice trade off to let Winnie  out and about sucking c,,,  They know its a sunset industry!

The folly of changing to a corporate model without accountability is now in full sight. The only thing left to do is a decent cleanout  but has the Minister the time, resolve and importantly the best possible industry knowledgeable people advising him. The last part is the real problem. I genuinely fear we are not watching a sunset but a sinking sun.😪

I think the Minister has shown repeatedly that he doesn't have knowledgeable people advising him.

You are highly likely to be correct which means the Awapuni debacle will be repeated next season. Next seasons calendar will be interesting reading but regardless the industry is now looking well and truly in serious trouble. Make the most of the next two to three seasons is my suggestion.
