Just to set the record straight re Leggy

I have posted the below on another site earlier this morning and with permission from @Chief Stipe, I am re-posting here.

 

I see on another site that Leggy aka Racingoutsider has been accused of posing as someone he is not. That is blatantly false. Another poster there also suggested that Leggy could speak for himself which of course he can but can't do currently on that forum since I am restricted from posting any content there. After two decades of supporting that site with charitable donations, subscriptions when required, and over 8000 respectful posts, I am saddened to see what it has become. Abusive, name calling posts when people disagree, bullying, posting under other members' names, accessing accounts and PMs and outright lies such as this, are quite unacceptable behaviour in any environment imo.

I never posed as anyone there. It was the site owner Scooby along with some other posters who insisted that Racingoutsider was Colin Wightman despite a number of attempts by me to refute that. In the end I gave up.

However, judge for yourselves.

Thanks for clarifying that @curious aka Brent.

I've known you online for a very long time - getting close to 20 years now.  Previously when I was the Admin/Developer for the channel you refer to and more recently since the start of BOAY.

Without reservation I have found you polite and straight up.  We have differing opinions on a couple of Racing subjects but neither of us have held a grudge over a different opinion.  I've found your opinions well researched and based on facts and must say you have on occasion broadened my knowledge.  I've never felt threatened by your superior knowledge on some subjects and have enjoyed that challenge.

For the sake of full disclosure I caught up with Brent and @Freda at the iconic watering hole the Racecourse Hotel across the road from Riccartion before the 1000 Guineas last November.  We walked the Riccarton track looking for a fast lane (which we found) and also had a wander over the AWT Polytrack.  I'm happy to say on behalf of the other person in our company that day that Josh Parr found that fast lane and used it to full advantage!  Their first Group 1 winner from their first dip into race horse ownershp.

However I first met Brent in person at Ellerlise at the Kevin Morton JCA hearing where we were both there supporting Kevin.  It is perhaps ironic given the recent Awapuni track upgrade that the primary issue of those RIB (RIU) charges against Kevin were his online comments about the abandonment of an Awapuni meeting and the state of the final bend at that track.  The Purcell "90 horses" was secondary to what started that whole episode.

I guess it is also ironic that you presented statements in support of Kevin and your fundamental argument was that a license holder had the right to express an opinion publically and not be penalised as a license holder for doing so.  The Adjudicator agreed and that was a landmark decision in NZ Racing.  It is a shame that that freedom is taken up by more license holders to raise awareness about the problems the industry faces.

At a time when we need voices to be heard loud and clear it is a shame that valid well thought out opinions are still censored or at best constrained.  Contrary to the perception of some it doesn't happen here.  The only people to have been moderated or restricted in posting are those who have either been abusive, have not followed the clear rules especially that concerning facts or have sought to undermine BOAY for nefarious reasons.

my tuppence worth about that other place, which I have not gone to for years,  resend for negating that place, TOXIC Leadership! School yard crap...sigh..  Once, back near the beginning of 'cafe, I would have like to think I added some value via the Racing Quizes I ran via Abit Roughhouse (I had a few other 'names', but they were only ever 'used' for a big of fun piss taking). I some ways I'm surprised its still around?

Re that fella Brent! Our paths have crossed.. via the likes of the Morton Debarked..  also a bit of behind the scenes stuff with CWJ having need of assistance!   We did find out that we had a interesting out of racing common person, a person connected to his PhD!  Also! he has been brave enough to visit us here in d town in person!

More Power to his Pen I say! Can't Believe they have some ankle bracket on you currently!!!! May I ask the attraction of visiting there?

There remain some intelligent informed commentators there Fishy. So, I'll continue to read it. If I do post again it will be under another anonymous pseudonym which Scooby and his allies haven't figured out yet or claimed I am Colin or anyone else. I doubt you'll see me there again as Leggy or Racingoutsider unless all illegal censorship is discontinued. I won't be revealing myself in good faith again.

Unbelievable!!!   I see the Dog is accusing Brent of "Incorrect Information"!!!!!  What utter utter BS!  No response to the fact he has logged into other peoples accounts, checked their PM's and then clicked like emoji's (accidentally?).  Nor edited posts AFTER he has been caught out and had to back track to save face.

I'm honoured to have a thread in Leggy's name for the first time in 20 odd years! And yes, there's no mention of what the incorrect information is because there wasn't any. If it only costs a couple of months training fees a year to run, I'm sure someone else would be happy to save him the grief he seems to be experiencing.

I've never understood the point of a suspension.  It is actually a ban as you elude.  

But what is it supposed to achieve?  Are you repenting?  Are you attending confession and doing contrition and penance while kneeling at a station of the cross being whipped into submission while grasping your rosary beads?

Or have you been asked to donate to a worthy cause to atone for your mortal sins?  Oh that's right you did that last week on that channel.

Are you really going to change your views or will you dumb yourself down and become an obsequious sycophant?

Have you had any instructions on how to atone?

I see it still hasn't been answered why @curious aka Leggy was being moderated in the first place!!!  I'd love to know why but I suspect it is because his cogent and accurate rebuttal may have made someone look silly!
