Gammalite Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Lady of Camelot brilliantly Won the $5 mill Golden Slipper last season , but didn't Win a Race this season as a Three year old Filly. Yet she is nominated for 3 year-old filly of the year at the National Racing Awards. without winning a race ? they've got to be joking ? lol. Has a horse ever won a prestigious Season Title without winning a single race ? doesn't make sense. She may have run some good placings behind Lady Shanandoah and that, and a splendid 4th in the Everest. But has NO wins . Shouldn't WIN the award then 🤣. I'll give em' the awards . save them these troubles. Clear Cut Easy, based on watching just a few races and can save them the time and effort deciding in about 90 seconds 😉. Horse of the Year : Via Sistina by a street. based on the Massive Cox Plate Win alone 2 year old : Marhoona . for Slipper win 3 year old filly: Treasure The Moment, by a minute 3 year old Colt/g : Switzerland, for the Coolmore win Sprinter : Bella Nipotina , for the Everest Middle Distance : Via Sistina , by an hour 😆 Stayer : Knight's Choice , for Melbourne Cup Done and dusted in 90 seconds. Who Won the New Zealand Awards ? Have they had em ? 2 Quote

Season isn't finished yet 🤣. i'm getting too far ahead of myself with it just turning July now. bloody slow Winter 🙄 just wishing it was over. anyway I guess the NZ Horse of Year Nominations Will go in shortly. who wins now Imperatriz retired . The Standardbreds changed to January 1st for the annual Birthday only about 2 -3 years ago. ( to allign with Oz ) A Brilliant Move . You no longer have to rush your 2 year-old . And they can start later in the year in the late Spring Summer , in the great weather , while Big and strong and about to turn three. best innovation for years. and run the NZ Derby in December when the 3 year olds are even bigger and stronger. (and are about to turn 4 a month later and can even take on older horses in races, to make the racing even better) Quote

Great 3 yearold year for TreasureThe Moment , near undefeated (8 wins, 1 x 2nd from 9 ) and with 3 Group 1's victories including the Blue Riband > ATC and Vic Oaks double. just a superstar horse . Mr Zhang may be riding the wave of Success with his mare Via Sistina, but wow ! doesn't he have a great back up in this 'treasure' as well ? . TreasureThe Moment could go on to be the next 'Verry Elleegant' I reckon . 🏆😎 That great kiwi mare won a Melbourne Cup and 11 Group 1's , so is a 'High Bar' to get too though lol . 😂 but that 'Yu Long' bloke is a bit blessed with lucky 8 Chinese fortune so Just might pull it off in future months. 1 Quote
Doomed Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago We have a not totally dissimilar situation in NZ this year. The biggest stake earning 3yo this season had a group 3 third as her best effort in a real race from memory. Based on traditional ratings she would probably be the 7th or 8th best 3yo for the season, but she did win the most stakes money through wins in restricted races. It will be fascinating to see if she gets a nomination as top 3yo and whether anyone has the nerve to vote for her. Quote
