Guest CrossCodes
Totally disagree in regards to Aleysha Collett, yes she was an okay rider but that doesn’t mean she will be an okay presenter, just picks horses with dapples like that means they are winners? I don’t get her appeal at all.
craigos
Think overall presenter's are fine....they give you the information, whether we take it on board , well that's our choice. Dapples out certainly means the horse is generally fit & well but dosen't mean it'll win. Bit of a boo boo from studio presenter who told us Camperdown is 4km from Sydney CBD! Perhaps VIC after Camperdown is a clue. I think Mark Cookson is making a good job as an on course presenter. I'd love the job......studio or live! While we on the subject of presenters on Thursday was listening to trackside radio and Cameron was on. It was so cringeworthy he was so unprofessional i thought i was listening to the local uni radio. " think the producer needs to go for a smoke" , "god i dont know where i am where am I? " whats the next race? Oh it doesn't matter!!!!" Maybe once his balls drop and gets hair on his chest he might improve ? And his studio shifts are even worse i turn it over if he is on.

Heard that too. It is great that he has a bit of personality, but he tries to be funny all the time, which if you have not backed a winner in the last 20 races, you dont need this guy goofin around. Was a girl on trackside radio yesterday, Marky Mac had just given results of race, but she still stuffed up, didnt know what race was even on 2

jess
Two thoughts: 1. Lots of people start off a bit ordinary in a new role but improve with experience? (maybe we should give them a chance to settle in/develop their skills ...) 2. I don't know their salaries but could it also be a case of "pay peanuts - get ......."? I don't watch much TV trackside so not best placed to comment - what I do watch is muted or fast-forwarded through the presenters - I want to watch the horses pre-race and the race. And that's about it for me.

Excuse me, I did not ask for it to be removed! I commented on part of CC's post as being unnecessary and disrespectful. However, I do believe that in fairness to those that commented on it, as it was originally written, that the removal of the offensive words should have been noted by the moderator. Just deleting it isn't helpful IMO - it sanitises the individual who was low enough to make it in the first place. Given your reaction, perhaps, I need to consider joining the exodus of posters if you are going to react in this manner. This is all a bit sad really, I hope this sort of stuff is not the start of a great site deteriorating into mediocrity or worse. 3
Pasketti
In fairness you should feel the same way about the negative comments towards Cam. Why is it one rule for one and one for another? He would also be offended to read these but she gets an easier ride because she is female. I’m team Cam what’s a lovely guy and so passionate about racing

I’m team Cam what’s a lovely guy and so passionate about racing Had I read them before your post alerted me to read the whole thread, I probably would have. IMO, any poster that chooses to belittle in the name of humour is showing more about their own character than the character/ability of the person they are critiquing. As I see it, It is one thing being an armchair critic of a presenter's performance, but quite another to slur their reputation (as CC did to PM). Gender didn't matter, although, obviously, this particular comment could only have been made about a female. Had a male-aligned comment of a similar sexual nature been made I would have challenged it too Edited January 20, 2019 by Chimbu Changed *post to *thread

That's fine but I do see a difference between mob rule, democracy and principled free speech. I'm not sure what everyone has been drinking lately but this all started because a select few disagree with one poster being allowed to continue posting. Personally, I don't have huge issues with that particular poster. At times I even agree with him, other times I think he's OTT. Each to their own opinion. I have no problems with those who choose to criticise him either, so long as they don't partake in it as some kind of sport. Frankly, if he is in line to be banned, then there are a few others that can't be far away from forming a queue behind him.

Although he can be a right pain in the arse if you sort through the chaff he does raise some good points. He also has been the protagonist in a very interesting debate on punting. I used to take note of when blinkers were tried for the first time but as Curious and Mardigras have pointed out that is shear folly! I also agree that if he has crossed the line then I'd be banning at least 6.

Rubbish, open your eyes, there is a poster who will take your site down from where it has got to, and there are an increasing number of people trying to tell you that.........for the sake of your site. I don't know why they bother with the approach being seen from you
