JJ Flash Posted January 22, 2019 Posted January 22, 2019 (edited) Just read this on Harnesslink, what a Stat Between the 14th of December 2018 and the 19th of January 2019 there were 15 Group 1 and Group 2 races at various tracks throughout Australia with a New Zealand bred winning a staggering 14 of those 15 Group races. It is mind boggling to see the results of New Zealand breds winning and completely dominating almost all Group racing in Australia over this period. Im sure this will please NZBS and all those breeders who have horses entered in upcoming sales. Wether or not we have been more proactive in our selection of blood lines compared to Australia , it's a telling indictment to the Australian breeding industry. We have a healthy breeding and as some will acknowledge because of one particular practitioner also an exporting business here in NZ as well. Read into that what you will. 2 Quote

I saw Preston pans ran 2nd again at menangle, I thought he would have been a better propersition on the smaller tracks in Victoria. Didn't have the speed to lead yesterday and sat 1+1 led with 50m to go and got bombed on the line Quote

Yes its totally amazing, i saw the numbers you referred to and even contemplated posting a few but didn't know where to start As for the export comment NZ was developed on trading for a livelihood and now its just different things. I have said this before but when I went to Melton I was shocked at the conditioning of the horses, far from representative I know but gave me an inkling of why Kiwi breds clean up. Prestonpans to my mind after following him from trial time to racetrack will make a good Grand Circuit horse eventually and wouldn't be surprised to see him at nxt yrs Inters going on progress so far. 1 Quote
