There's nothing left in the pattern here for them after that unless they are middle distance prospects. Have to go to Oz if they are G1 level and potential top broodmare or stallion prospects don't they? There is actually quite a large gap as to when the Spring carnivals in Aus finish mid Nov and when the Sydney Autumn carnival begins first week March, 3 3/4 months. So plenty of opportunities in NZ then. Quote

I'm not sure if this is a good or bad thing, as they will aim her for the 2,000 Guineas then straight off to Aus, so we will not get to see her race in NZ again. And I guess for all you old lags lol, one of the romantics attractions still of racing in NZ, is seeing top horses race here A local knowitall said racing in Aus is the only place to go for owners , so I guess Aus it is then. Many are reluctant to try even the best 3yos against older horses at that time of year, especially under handicap conditions. Edited 18 hours ago by curious Quote

If you are referring to me that isn't what I said. Now you're just being an idiot or worse. Or perhaps someone whose cynicism doesn't allow them know much at all. Any owner or trainer with a talented horse that is good enough would be doing themselves and the industry a disservice by not targeting a black type race in OZ. Quote

Aus 2yo G1 wins for TA , still waiting on odds Chief. Appreciate if you could get them out by end of weekend. Quote

Doomed Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago I thought the Avondale track played quite well for those trials. If it is just the grandstands that people don't like, perhaps bulldoze them and carry on. Quote

I think power and broadcast facilities need upgrading. But I suspect that the Avondale track wouldn't sustain much racing before problems manifested themselves. I doubt much maintenance has been done during the racing hiatus. Quote
