TIME FOR CHANGE
Has a starting pool today of $177,700 for the Karaka Meeting How much will they have after the six races ? I'm going left field and hope I'm wrong $10,000.. Good Luck to them. I doubt they will have trouble getting a BET on like the rest of us have. The TAB will "bend over backwards" for them
mardigras
Had a look at this. Good luck to them. But from looking at it, they seem to follow more of an increasing bet strategy when they lose scenario. Not for me. But good for the interest they create which is a positive.
Kihikihi Kid
The scary thing is , these guys are not affilliated to the TAB at all , yet have garnered enough support to kick off with a $177,700 starting pool . They have done this for $0. What does this say about the TAB , NZRB and all the Marketing Depts associated with these idiots. If it was my Business I would be asking why we couldn't have come up with a pool like this NATIONWIDE mind you , then I'd sack have the losers and try and employ some of the BGP movement
muzenza365
I played in a golf tournament yesterday with this group and i can tell you they have a culture that is infectious. They booked the course, had golf carts booked, as many beers as you wanted before teeing off,had a drone getting shots of the golf, had a at least 4 carts going around with drinks all day,had a food stop at 10,IT WAS THE BEST VALUE DAY YOU COULD EXPECT. If it wasn't for the beers we would have won, finished 1.4 shots off winning with the lowest handicap, but who cares,it was great day run by people who would lap the NZTR MARKETING TEAM BLINDFOLDED. 2
TIME FOR CHANGE
Well done to them. Made 77,000. Only turned over 100k thou. Probably tooooo much in their pool with only 6 races. Fun had by all I would think.

I think they started with $178k, turned over nearly $200k and broke even for the day despite the handicap of having Ted on their selection panel.

The betting did tend to be a bit erratic but I guess given the syndicate was a one off and there were only six races they wanted to try and maximise the return to the syndicate members. Certainly some good entertainment and added a bit of interest so good on them

SLB2.0
The "Chase Theory" is adopted by some punters but only works if the horse/sport is paying more than $2. Tom Melbourne is a classic example. Keep doubling your bet size until it wins. Of course, in his case, you would have needed a big bank account! Sandpiper
They seem to be just waiting until the day has started to pan out before going in hard, not really martingaling. The amount chosen for the last punt on Madison County was a touch worrying (77k to make it a breakeven day if it lost). Should be staking based on overlay and bank, not trying to leave it tidy admin-wise.

Rusty
The BGP movement is great, and is a well needed shot in the arse the NZ racing scene required. It appears there may be some critics regarding the betting strategy employed on Saturday, but I highly doubt that any member that threw down a lazy Rutherford per share would share this opinion. 2
