Chief Stipe
I see the "other site" has leaked an internal memo by posting it. I too received that memo but chose not to post it on BOAY. It was clear that it was an internal memo and subject to clear confidentiality rules. Interesting times.
Freda
Certainly an interesting reaction to the article referred to.... methinks BdL will be gratified the sting was felt.
curious
Unfortunately, it seems to portray an attitude not far removed from that which was portrayed in the first road show promoting these same, now failed, strategies that were supposed to generate $50m a year. Any questions or challenges, especially from a wagering perspective were met with disdain and a lack of any sound evidence or numbers to support the strategies. If it was generally posted to staff hardly confidential. Its called whistleblowing and an accepted tactic in most western governments. There might not be wrongdoing disclosed but the disclosure is of genuine interest to racing supporters who fund the huge salaries of some in the organisation. I suggest you are being too cautious. Although dispersing comments within the document a bit confusing.

NZRacing
Not long ago an Internal e-mail to senior management BP was leaked and exposed in the media which showed them up for their questionable business activities, no different re NZRB. Reefton
We all know this is the NZRB attitude and so does Winston. He has had the Messara report for six plus months. What has be done about it? Why the hell hasn't he interim appointed a chair(or even better an entire Board) who has skin it the game and a proven track record to kick some arse? After all we all know Glenda is a National Party lackey so what the hell loyalty has Winston to her? Our whole problem in this game starts with Board'swho have neither a liking for, any empathy for nor skin in the game. It is an effing joke and the only ones suffering are the small clubs being shafted(of course the industry as a whole has been suffering for years but I am talking about the Messara recommendations) 1 1

Weasel
While I share this thread's general mood of discontent and frustration over inaction, the time for INACTION is fast running out...in brief, because Whinny HAS to get the ACTION signed off in this year's Budget. His 'Big MAC' (think: bureaucratic politico-industry assisters or Ministerial Advisory Committee) have to produce an ACTION PLAN and $$$$$ by end Feb that Whinny can get past Taxinda's Cabinet. Mebbe the deal is already done in terms of $$ for ACTION (part of the never-revealed Coalition Agreement/Compromise)...but IF NOT, Whinny may find himself falling off his horse in May, when the Budget is announced. And you can bet John Allen's ridiculously high salary that if that happens, it won't be Whinny's fault. (Nothing ever is.) It'll be the socialist regime's priorities of housing, health and edjamication (with free lunches for all) stopping Whinny from delivering on his promises to the racing industry. In summary: Expect positive news/action from Whinny'ws office in the next two to four weeks. Or else. 1

I don't reckon he has a shit show of getting any money out of the government. He MUST get some action happening on this NZRB and it's wastage. If he does get money out of the government then it (1) will not be much and (2) will just be pissed up against the wall the way it always has been.
Thomass
It's such a shame some of you are coming off a base of gross ignorance... The Feb deadline is merely an interim report with the actual deadline for June Of course if Winn went off half cocked...without the consultation and CONCENSUS that Winn wants You'd be even more apoplectic than you are now...and that could be dangerous McKenzie, Vella and Kristy are sensational appointments... ...it's a shame your negativity is pervasive....and influencing those less able to sort the shit talk...read petty provincial... from the Winn talk...of positivity Its a final chance...why rush something through...after it's already taken so long to get here...after continual pathetic 'hands off' Knat Non Governence?? I agree in principle...but still hope we are both wrong and the rabbit gets pulled out of the hat. One thing is certain, the 50 mill is gone..never to return..and no doubt there are extensive - and expensive - clauses negating any chance of tossing the whole thing in the rubbish bin.
