Shab Posted June 14 Author Posted June 14 These Sunday Scams have turned into a farce. Continually close at virtually the same as supposedly boosted odds and less than BSP. Stop embarrassing yourselves. It's a promotion so don't go 2.2 at 130% to 3. Go to 5 or 6. At over 2 bucks less chance you're paying out than keeping the bets and punters just give it back anyway. And what about this 'super boost' $3 nz to draw or beat Iraq. You gotta be joking. Be lucky to entice a bet at $10. Sack a couple of the accountants and get some marketers on board. Get people punting again 1 Quote

The 129% was at the jump for the QE2 - 17 horse field WFA. Yes you would expect a lower overround for smaller fields at age group set weights. Interesting though how the English TV feed has the overround automatically calculated at the top of the book on screen. Perhaps ENTAIN could do the same? Quote
Shab Posted June 21 Author Posted June 21 Surely the big bets they put up 000s on massive unders especially Overpass Joliestar and the like can't be real. Not like you can't get set on exchange. Why bet 3000 at 2.4 when you can get 3 or more elsewhere. Fast tracking your way to the poor house. Racing so good you don't even need to have a bet to enjoy it. Some beautiful looking horses. Makes life worth living. Glad its over need some sleep. Sunday Surge shoulda been $5 this week not $4. They're too stingy for a $20 max. Get people into racing. 1 Quote

Didn’t expect jmac to slaughter it so money stayed in the pocket and no harm done. Couldn’t help myself backing some on looks. Went good shoulda had more on. Funny how even if you don’t have a bet it can be so entertaining. Watching the next day just not the same. That itv just know how to put on a show. I even enjoyed the fashion bits they did. If I see fashion stuff during nz racing I feel like putting my boot through the screen and joining trackside presenter hate threads on the other channel Quote

I think they needed a law change to do it. I guess they just buy themselves another law change. This Transparency International outfit must be run by a German Mr Magoo 1 Quote

Now it seems they are closing NZ accounts completely. Quote
Shab Posted June 23 Author Posted June 23 Yup closed on 19 June as promised but no use but looking at prices on Betfair live anyway and live is shutting down soon as well Quote
Shab Posted June 28 Author Posted June 28 3.5 to 4.5 how utterly pathetic. Look up the word 'promo' in a dictionary Sam. Yesterdays legup boost they were 4.5 and closed 4.8 SP & 5.4 tote. A lesson in how to put punters off racing Quote
Shab Posted July 18 Author Posted July 18 Give the little punters something reasonable and make it $5 for Undisputed today not something $3 or less. Or make an effort to get more people interested in racing and make it $10 Quote

Chief Stipe Posted July 19 Posted July 19 17 minutes ago, curious said: Really? Well I'm interested, but only if I deem the pricing to be value. Same as buying a rib-eye or a washing machine. But you are ALREADY interested in wagering on horses. So the ROI is gained by getting you to invest more. Marketing a Sunday Surge to target new punters would be an expensive exercise outside the existing channels. By the way you already have a value in mind for the ribeye amd the washing machine. You are looking for that price. @Shab suggests raising the Sunday Surge price will get people interested in punting on horses. Unlikely because they don't know what is or isn't value. Quote

Unlikely because they don't know what is or isn't value. You start doing these horses $10 instead of $3 and you’ll get plenty interested. Word of mouth marketing will see you right. How do you get people interested in racing otherwise? Look at how poor the product is and the presentation with the girl today and the tab guy last two nights is just abysmal. Only the chance to make a few bucks will get people interested. If they win it’s a small max and they just give it back anyway even if they say they don’t Quote
hesi Posted July 19 Posted July 19 The no deductions initiative was good for keen punters looking for value when markets first open, but unfortunately discontinued But yes, agree in principle, put up things that grab punters attention, not just minor adjustments to pricing 1 Quote
Shab Posted July 19 Author Posted July 19 Surprised no deductions lasted as long as it did. Showed you how thick people can be. I'd be telling someone to back runners cos fave was gunna be scratched and they'd say oh I don't like betting on maidens or some other dumb answer. More for the rest of us I guess just like other parts of life. Quote
