hesi Posted June 9 Posted June 9 On the contrary, one of the ways he built Sistema, was through unique innovative products. So he knew how to compete in a very competitive market, one of the keys to growing any business and therefor increasing his sales. The TAB had some great innovative products that got deleted, one of them was the no deductions policy, that punters loved. Quote

He is one of a few that I would have some confidence in. Not only has he been successful in business he has been in racing for most of his life commencing by attending and punting at many race meetings around the CD. Quote

These triple trios, PVLs odds and evens, place extra robbery all just distractions. Makes it look like there’s an answer until it proves to be another fizzer. Racing ain’t the same as making different size quality plastic containers. Done plastics and racing made a lot more easily with the plastics Quote

That's no longer possible as the horse has well and truly bolted. The fact is the TAB makes a lot of profit out of exotic bets. Isn't that the name of the game? Quote

curious Posted June 10 Posted June 10 I don't think there's any future in that line of thinking. Existing punters will only continue to lose what ever it is they are now, no matter how many ways you give them to do that. It's attracting new punters that will increase revenue. 2 1 Quote

That wasn't my point - just that the marginal cost of implementing a new product is very small. There are ample products attractive to new customers - they just need to be put in front of them. Mystery/Easy Bets are popular. One key strategy has been to promote wagering around major events e.g. Melbourne Cup, The Everest, KM Night and Champions Day. The key then is to get the new customer to bet again regularly. Of course the likes of yourself, @Shab and @Murray Fish educating them on takeout rates and telling them they are mugs doesn't help. The BETCHA social betting syndcate concept has some merit but is hard to train people how to use it. Quote
hesi Posted June 10 Posted June 10 I can assure you Shab, that every company in the world that sells its products, tries to expand its product range by introducing new innovative variations that the marketplace wants. Some new variations become wildly successful others don't fly Classic Coca Cola for many years was the one and only product. Vanilla Coke didn't fly but now Coke Zero is as big as the original. If they hadn't of done it, they would have lost market share to Pepsi and other competitors. Racing is no different. Years ago, it was only Win/Place/Doubles Quinellas, tifectas and F4 have been hugely successful and there are many punters that such forms are their preferred bet. Sure there have been a few ducks like Triple Trio and Place 6 lol Quote
Chief Stipe Posted June 10 Author Posted June 10 Back to the head post. I see two companies associated with the Shareholder and Director of the FRAC Club are in Receivership. Quote

There are 93 betting options available on each of the Super Rugby semi-finals. Over 200 on each of the World Cup Football games. Quote

If you educate them and show them they can win they’re more likely to stick around. Don’t try and restrict or ban any account that gets to a 10k profit. Hoover their wallets out every week and if they haven’t got an addictive personality they’ll leave. Nothing new in what we’re saying mugs will carry on being mugs. Gotta work hard, be patient and be able to deal with variance. Easy to talk about but very very hard to put into practice. Need to give them the opportunity of giving it a try Quote
Chief Stipe Posted June 10 Author Posted June 10 Interesting - back to the head post. Two of the rising 3yr olds advertised with FRAC shares available have a status of INACTIVE at NZTR. One doesn't have a trainer and the other is not owned by a FRAC Club company. Quote

I betcha some mugs will take 2.75 All Whites to qualify from their group and think they got their money back if they fluke one goal. But anyway there are a number of reasons combining to the growth in sports betting not just numbers of betting options Quote
