I SMELL A RORT.

Yesterday at Addington race 11. Opawa Vinny red hot favourite. Down 1.5 kilo's in 4 days. Thats about taking a pound of butter of the dog everyday. This from a kennel that prides itself in excellence. I do not believe this was through negligence, but rather an attempt to stop the dog and allow its kennel mate to win [Mighty Muscle] which it did at odds. Scott Wallis in charge of meeting, and not a question asked, what piss poor stewarding, just another rort, given the blessing of approval by an inept Racing Idiot Unit. With these types of rorts being perpetuated on the ever declining betting population, then soon they will find themselves out of business.

On a serious note , from the outside looking in at the comments on this forum. Can somebody please point me in the direction of some positive comments or a happy/positive thread ?? Anyone who didn't know would look at your comments and bitter words and wonder why you are anywhere near the sport. Moan moan moan is all i can read. Group races , great runs and times , younger or older or smaller trainer achievements , track records being broken , breeding ( what do you think of this cross etc ) and so on nowhere to be seen. Always but ALWAYS thinking the worst about everything . Your wives ( if you have them) / husbands / partners must have a jolly old time living with you lot.

It's been pretty easy for me to begin thinking the worse of this new member.

So should I be happy for the first trainer that was fined 0.5% of his total yearly income for killing six dogs on the ferry or for the second trainer that made one dog sick for half an hour and getting fined 6.2% of his total yearly income?

Should I be happy that GRNZ/RIU ignored live baiting pictures handed first to them which they sat on for a few days, before they were then taken to the SPCA, which has now filed CRIMINAL charges because of them, yet in the mean time that same LP's kennel has racked up roughly $5M in stakes earnings in the same sport he has brought into disrepute?

No but my point is you ALWAYS post negatively , oh look at this and oh look at that . Be positive for a bit and promote the sport in a good light . If you can only see bad then go away as the sport doesn't need you and your bitterness

Surely you should be able to handle  comments that appear on this forum without getting as annoyed as you have.

How about directing your frustration towards those who turned a blind eye to actions which have  tarnished the greyhound codes reputation to the point they have done irreparable damage.

Yes there are positives in the industry. There are achievements that should be recognised, but not at the expense of industry integrity. If you want to be part of an industry to be proud of then you cannot ignore the negatives. Staying silent just encourages those who would use unsanctioned methods to accumulate winners. Those who would protect them. Seems you are all good with that. Rules need to be applied equally, scrutiny helps keep the game honest.

How can you be so naive? It's a miracle the sport hasn't been put down faster than a top trainers slow greyhound if you ask me.
Your dealer must do well out of you.

Gee can't you all get what i'm saying ( and not saying ) ?? Just pointing out the negativity all you people have. Yes there are wrongs and we all know what they are but waffling on here does less than zero to help the sport. Try promoting it with some good stuff. Do you think GRNZ care one little bit that Yankwiwi emails them like he thinks he's some Mr Big stuff , no. As i said imagine a new would be owner having a look around the forums ( as i did when i started ) and seeing all the bitterness you lot spout , he/she would run a mile and the sport needs new people.

Here's a thought, why not just start a positive thread instead of doing exactly what you say you dislike? Or, maybe start your own forum which you could then control, but be warned, it won't last a month. Forums are about opinion often on subjects that impact all participants. Like it or not posters have a right to voice their concerns. It definitely beats confrontation at the track. I either agree or disagree with what is written, and a conversation is had. If the conversation is civil, I have no issue.

As for attracting new people, the media circus that is about to ensue will definitely increase the sports following and not in a positive way. Whats your plan to counter that?

You state ‘the sport needs new people’, I think you will find any smaller trainers/owner trainers have had enough and are done......the powers that be had made it abundantly clear they only require a few large kennels I.e McInerney, Cole, Wales, Evans etc.....to make the fields up and they will let them get away with whatever they like, they don’t care who makes the numbers up as long as they get fields, the days of owner/trainers are done.

Interesting swab tendencies from last night.

Red hot favourites win race 9 ($50K purse) & race 11($4.6K purse) - Blood taken.

$8.20 outsider wins race 10 ($50K purse) - Urine taken.

Why not a level playing field?

I wonder who the trainer was that received this potential preferential treatment was?

That rort smell Aquaman first detected could be lingering.
