Jamie’s Bad Boy - Chump to Champ

Interesting how a horse can be improved by swapping trainers!

Jamies Bad Boy won its second race tonight at Forbury now trained by Mark Jones.

Craig Buchan trained it for many starts and mainly raced at Forbury always against maidens As it couldn’t win a race for him in excess of 35 starts.
Showed a little ability every now and then but didn’t really look like it would win a race on many occasions.

Mark Jones now trains and won twice and has looked a very fair horse when it has done everything right!

Amazing really how they improve when a more professional trainer does things differently and get them fit and keen to race!

Went a nice trial recently as well, don't think he'll reach the heights of raphoe though

The jones team has improved immensely in the last 2 or 3 months, and its been noticeable how much better they have been driven.

Funnily enough since S Tomlinson has stopped driving many of the jones team her driving has also improved and she is currently driving very well,in my opinion.

He always promised to win two or three. He's done that now but won't go much further and unlikely he;ll be onsold to Aussie with this spreaders and penchant for galloping. Handy pickup from them, though

When Craig Buchan trained him, you seriously couldn’t think that he showed enough to win 2 or 3.

You may be correct that he won’t be sold overseas due to his rough gate, however Mark may well send him over to race on the big track at Menangle.

Correct., so how did you know that it was going to be leaving Craig Buchan’s training ?

Because it was being offered for sale for a number of months and Craig was telling everyone he was going to sell his property and retire. Believe he has one horse left now.
